I've held off on buying a car most of my adult life, for a variety of reasons, most recently because it has been near impossible to find a vehicle that ticks off all the boxes, but also because auto technology is changing so rapidly now. But living in New England and tired of driving of failing to get hybrid Camrys and Prius Cs through the snow and ice so I can get to my clients, I realized that I couldn't let perfect be the enemy of the good, so I made a list, I checked it twice, and the CR-V came through on everything but the mileage. And, even then, it has no peers in its class. Even the RAV4 Hybrid gets a mere 10% bump, and for that you pay a premium on a base model without all the great features included in a CR-V EX. Having owned the vehicle for a month now, I don't see how I could have done better. Sure, the entertainment and settings interface is terrible, but at least it is CarPlay compatible, so I am using that most of the time, and really looking forward to seeing if that sticks around and how it develops. I like the ride height and feel of the road. The steering is solid and the wheel feels good. The adaptive cruise control is a feature I've come to really like, as well as lane departure and collision warning, none of which were available on the RAV4 hybrid. Loving having a sun roof now, too. Cargo could be a little more convenient, despite its volume. There's a ledge keeping me from laying a folded 6' table totally flat in back, even with the seats down, which is annoying. Even the hybrid Camry allowed me to lay the table flat, with room to spare on every side. But I do like the vertical height. Took advantage of it to go car camping. Because of that height, we were able to load up the back without putting down the seats. Everyone remarks at the design and the Obsidian Blue color. People can't believe it's a Honda. Neither can I. I should have seen it coming with the new HR-V style that got my attention (not a great car, but a nice design for a small SUV type vehicle), but I thought that was a one-off. Not so. I even like these wheels better than any previous CR-V model. This car went from boring and not on my list to the top of my list when it first came out, and I am not disappointed. Again, I'd love to have this exact car with better acceleration and fuel economy (mid-30s seems reachable), but until that perfect car exists, this one will definitely do, and I have no remorse about buying it with the intent to keep for a long, long time. Update as of 1/13/2018. Still happy with this purchase, though my combined mileage has dropped a bit. Still solid for this class of car. I wasn't happy about the fuel pipe recall, but it was quick and easy to replace. Prime Honda have me a Honda Fit as a loaner while they worked on the CR-V. I have also had quite a few problems with CarPlay. Some of it seems to be Apple, but the rest is definitely the car. I've used 3 different lightning cables and 3 different phones, and still I sometimes get an error that no device is connected even though it is, sometimes I can even hear the audio (podcast, music), but I only get a black screen with the Device not connected message. It usually clears up after unplugging and plugging in again, but this is too fussy. Anyway, as previously mentioned, I'm still happy with this purchase and would do it again. It has worked out great for getting over some rough roads and snow, as well as hauling my work supplies and shopping. I've had a chance to use remote engine start and heated seats this winter, and this great. It does beep rapidly sometimes when I walk away from the car, even though the engine is on, and Honda didn't know what to make of it, since they couldn't reproduce it while it was there for the recall. If the small kinks like the beeping and CarPlay were sorted out and I got 30+ MPG, I honestly can't think of what else I'd change. Great value for a cool and practical car (I can't believe I think a Honda is cool).

Smooth ride. Can hear some outside noise, all items are touch control, but you have a knob for volume, and some climate buttons no CD player. I wish instead of Apple car play, and such, they had a maps, navigation feature. I found out my model DOES NOT have indicator light, notifying you of needed oil change.... In winter time, for the safety feature sensors, not quite sure where they are all located but they will come on and say won't work, because of Obstruction, I had the windshield an hood clean, so not sure what it was talking about. Don't care for the Voice Recognition -

This new design for the CR-V is totally exceptional, the body of the car is longer with more cargo space, but also more leg room inside. With the new added safety features for the CR-V, you feel extra safe knowing that the car is always thinking for you. So many things on the car make it a comfortable drive on a long road trip, really smooth, great power and easy to navigate the info system, still learning what is what. A lot of high tech stuff built into the console. Only had it for a month, and we are totally happy, looking forward to some road trips this summer. Update review 2/24/20: my purchase of my CR-V has been great, no regrets at all, have owned Honda cars since 1999 and never had any major problems, always did my recommend services - that's the key of keeping the car at its premium performance. They only thing I have a problem is finding the right seat covers for the CR-V, both front and rear seats, because of the side airbags for the front seats...anyone out there who can shoot me a email on we're to get some... I was hating the engine in my CR-V until I put in better Gas. Manual says 87 or above. I ran 87 for the first 1000 miles. The engine noise was horrible. Sounded really loud and rough. I put in a tank of plus and it was transformed. Much smoother and more power. MPG was improved. I'm currently experimenting with Super which is another step change. Car feels much more 'alive' and again much more quiet. MPG seems better too. Really happy now I've figured out the engine noise.

Torque Converter / Transmission

at 2000 miles we experienced slight vibration when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Dealer found the torque converter was not functioning correctly and replaced it. After researching this issue, I believe Honda has an issue with the Torque Converter / Transmission over heating to the point that the fluid is breaking down and causing other issue. (damage to: torque converter, needle bearing, solenoid) This has been in an issue in Honda models since 2005. I expressed concern to Honda of North America and I was stonewalled. I have concerns that the repair made by our dealer will not last. Torque Converters / Transmission issue should not be present for 200000 miles plus.
