Great mileage
Got mine from Honda of Ocala. They wanted $35000 for a LX. Going elsewhere next time. That's the Honda location that Edmunds shows available models for on the sidebar automatically. Just finished a trip with my LX and I got 32 mpg using cruise control and econ where as my wife got 35 mpg with econ and without cruise control. Go figure. It's nice being higher up than a sedan. Comfortable trip. 13 hours each way.
Nice SUV but could be better!
Fun to drive. Comfortable. Road noise at highway speed annoying. Materials could be higher quality. Door slam feels cheap. Speaker quality awful. Great 2nd car for young drivers. Safe.

Too old for this car
I have only owned this car for one month, which is why I could not rate all the items listed. The one thing that I do want to complain about is the headrest. It is installed at an angle which is not acceptable to me no matter what I do. I have adjusted the height of the car seat, the steering wheel, the angle of the seat itself and the headrest. I cannot find a combination that allows my head and neck to remain at a comfortable angle, or if I do, the back seat slopes away from my body and does not give me the needed support. In the past I have had a serious problem with pinched nerves in my neck and back. I fear that this car is simply not suited to my physical and medical needs. I did drive the car for about 15 minutes before I decided to buy it. At that time I didn't realize how difficult it would be to adjust the various components to fit my physical needs. In all of my 60 years of driving I have never encountered this problem and I am disappointed in Honda.

Love my cr-v
This car is very reliable. Derides nicely. It just looks good. The one negative is that it only has one glove box. My 2008 headed to glove boxes.

Really? Honda?
I bought my 2013 CRV new. I had no problems with it until the 70,000 mile Mark. The time chain rattle. I discovered while doing some investigating that mechanics have determined that this will occur if the engine oil runs low. It causes the chain to stretch due to lack of oil reaching the top of the engine on startup. I immediately checked my oil level. I change my oil every 3000 miles. I changed my oil 800 miles before I discovered that my 70,000 mile CRV was 1.5 quarts low. It is not the CVT actuator or the timing chain connected to it. The issue is high oil consumption in the amount of over 2 quarts per 3000 miles. This is a manufacturing defect. 70,000 and burning over 2 quarts every oil change. Immediately after I filled the oil reservoir, the rattle nearly disappeared. Again, the real issue is oil consumption at low miles. Honda needs to remedy this one. I could understand oil consumption on a 150,000 mile engine, but not 70,000 miles. The other issue is the transmission the shutters from 25 to 40mph. It becomes violent at times. The service manager at Honda states a service bulletin has been published. The FIX; a reprogramming of the trans computer which is free. But if the problem continues, the torque converter needs to be replaced and that problem ain't free; $2000. Honda states the service will be discounted. Shame on you Honda. Toyota screwed 1000s of loyal customers with the premature frame rot. Now Honda has followed in lockstep. I will stick to cars made before 2008 that have proven track records for reliability. Screw Honda!!!

Best value for the money
After driving many different small suvs, the Honda won me over. Dollar for dollar it was the best out there. The exl comes well equipped including blue tooth, back up camera, leather interior. fog lights, sun roof, climate control, just to mention a few. I had owned a 2008 crv and really liked that. This new body style keeps all the good points of the old one but addresses the road noise issues and adds a more compliant ride. The 4 cylinder engine has more than adequate power and the 5 speed automatic transmission is as smooth as silk. Great on gas too.
I am very happy with my new CRV!
I haven't bought a new car in years and I did a ton of research to find the best little SUV that would last and be the most reliable. All of my research pointed to the Honda CRV over and over again. I did drive a Rav 4 and it felt cheap and rattly even though it was new and had the highest trim. I planned to drive the Mazda CX5 but once I drove the CRV I did not feel it was necessary. I also considered the Ford Escape because it is awesome looking but reliability on Ford does not even come close to Honda. The interior of the CRV is very handsome and makes me feel like I am driving a european import. I considered the cloth interior but once I saw the leather I fell in love with it.
Radio Falsely Advertised-Premature Engine Failure
I purchased from a dealer with whom I had over 30 good years of experience with Volvos. As I thought their service was excellent and they were very close, I purchased the car albeit via a high pressure salesman. The CR-V get's better millage in average driving than my old 2000 RAV4 did on the highway. It is also quieter, bigger, more comfortable and more powerful. The OEM radio has very poor AM sound. So bad that is is often difficult to understand what is being said. The overall features of the radio are about what you get in a $68.00 bargain basement radio at a close out shop. Seriously! The tone controls do not apply differently to AM, FM, and CD. So if you adjust them for AM, they will also apply to FM and CD, making them sound horrible. So every time you change from AM to FM to CD you have to readjust the tone controls. That is insane. No after market radio you can purchase at any price is so backward. I was formerly the USA radio engineer at BLAUPUNKT who performed their evaluation and solved reception problems for radios sold to Detroit automakers. I gave Bosch the go ahead for production of radios used in most US Mercedez Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, some GM, and Ford radios. I easily measured the audio output power of the overpriced CRV radio, and found it to to be 40 Watts, not the advertised 160. Complaints got nothing but lies from Honda. Honda even refused to put their reply in writing, only verbally via telephone. Honda refused to reveal how they arrive at 160 Watts. They said their testing was proprietary. Proprietary? What? There is basically only one scientific way to measure it. I used standard electrical engineering practice as taught in all colleges in the civilized world. Think of that; Honda made claims of performance, but refuse to tell you how they came up with their claims that are 4 times greater than any competent engineer could arrive at. It is obvious what they are doing. IT IS PURE FRAUD on Honda's part. I was able to replace the Honda radio with a used Blaupunkt radio, that when new sold, was 1/3 the price of the Honda radio. The advertised power of the Blaupunkt is 160 Watts, and the MEASURED power is 160 Watts! Removing the junk Honda radio meant that I cannot set the Honda's clock nor use its USB plug. However, the excellent reception performance and the far superior sound of the replacement radio more than makes up for those small losses. I can now listen to AM and understand what is spoken with clarity. The FM sensitivity is vastly superior to the Honda radio and its sound quality greatly detailed and powerful. In 2018, I had a problem with intermittently being unable to set cruise control. After five returns, a very inquisitive mechanic figured it out. The time chain was failing. They replaced it at no cost. No not under Honda warranty, it was the extended warranty, that I purchased, that saved the day. Be forewarned! With under 75000 miles on it and having the dealer perform every single oil and repair I had two very expensive engine failures. 1) Timing chain, mentioned above. 2) Worn piston rings....I had the dealer perform every single oil change. They were performed exactly as they instructed me: When the dash indicator says 15% oil life remaining. Albeit my following THEIR instruction, the engine died and they said it was MY fault! After talking to their people, they recognized their error and my loyalty to them for 35 years. I paid HALF! I have never had such problems with any auto under 75,000 miles. I do not trust Honda nor their automobiles anymore. I have been able to listen to the latest honda radios in loaners for the 5 returns I had. The AM is still extremely bad sounding, the same tin can sound - that, even in the top line radio. The CRV now has 79,600 miles on it. It still is comfortable, drives well, and getting good fuel mileage. Over its life, it has had a VTC actuator valve begin rattling on 3 occasions; once when new, once a few years later, and now yet again. The first was covered under recall, the second under warranty, and now, $1000.00 out of my pocket! I did read, somewhere online, that checking it was supposed to occur at 100,000 miles. Now, the story get’s better. I was contacted by a law firm in 2023, and it was about the VTC actuator! They are in the process of a class action suit against Honda for knowingly replacing the VTC with a defective replacement, and at customers expense . The suit also contends that failure of the VTC often results in premature time chain failure! That’s a double whammy from Honda. Aside from my complaints, the vehicle has provided reliable transportation, in decent comfort, and overall reliability. I have never had a breakdown going any place (came close with the timing chain). Would I buy one again…I did, kind of, a 2018 HRV for my wife. The HRV was the closest in overall dimensions to her 2001 RAV 4 which was totaled by a marijuana smoking, 23 year old celebrating his birthday. Illinois supports marijuana dispensaries. The CRV reached 108k miles. The wife's 2018 HRV reached 3.4k miles. Both had been religiously maintained at the dealer. I traded both in for $6500.00 and $20,000. I bought a new 2025 HRV Sport. It is larger than the 2018; reminds me of the 2013 CRV, a tad smaller in rear luggage capacity. In total, the CRV never let me down. Never got stranded, mileage was good. Also, the radio sound of the 2025 is much improved, especially in the AM. Updated at 101930 miles on 4/18/2024

Good car for shorter people
We bought it used with 35k miles and now it has 94k miles. It has been very reliable over the 4 years we've had it. The only issues I have with it are the loud road noise on the freeways, and the leg room in front is too short. Over long drives, I cannot stretch my legs inside the car, and I'm only 6 feet tall. Getting out of the back seat is also awkward.
VTC Actuator Failure and AWD Issue
Like so many other owners, the VTC actuator failed. Started by making the horrible grinding noise only on cold days, but over time it was happening every time I started the car. I had two dealerships try to convince me that it was only a noise issue (likely a lie Honda tells their dealers to say so they don't have to cover it). I had it replaced anyways and they found that my timing chain had stretched. Great way to spend $1400. Now I have an AWD issue that again is a solenoid problem. The idea that Honda's are reliable is a perpetuated myth (CR list has them ranked 12th). One dealership told me this was a bad engine design, probably one of Honda's worst. I'd stay away from this model year and just keep in mind that when you buy a Honda you're buying a middle of the road vehicle in terms of reliability. On the plus side the interior is nice and the ride is smooth (as long as you get the transmission shudder fixed).
Actuator defect since purchased finally fixed
Last Honda I buy. Actuator was defective on delivery, but mysteriously not found by Service Tech until 2020. We had to submit a 30-page file of service records to get the Manufacturer to fix it out if warranty. The engine grind caused by the issue obviously degrades enjoyment of the vehicle as well as the life expectancy of the engine. I'm looking to replace it now before the next big issue.
Early Christmas Present!
My father decided it would be a good idea for me to get a car since i go to school in Buffalo. He is a previous Hillside Honda customer. and they made us happy once again. Everything was perfect. We were out of there in less than 4 hours! I chose the CRV because I am usually in a carpool back in buffalo. I absolutely love my car. The salesperson Steve was really professional and the sales manager Mr. Adams were extremely helpful. The process was smooth and painless. I couldnt have asked for a better christmas present. I would absolutely recommend it!
Substandard Tires on CRV LX
I took delivery of a CRV LX and noticed when I got home that the tires were substandard....Continental. This LX was not on the lot at anytime only other CRV's but not LX's. The other CRV's had Michelin's or Goodyear tires so I assumed.. The dealer and Honda America were not interested in trading out the tires even if I paid the difference which is amazing to me.

Love our CRV!
We researched vehicles for years and after buying a used 1998 Honda Odyssey and being so impressed by how everything still worked well and was built so well, (unlike our GM vehicles, where everything breaks, ac vents, windows don't work, etc.), we decided we wanted some of that Honda reliability! We wanted a CRV so it would be easier to slip in & out of & still have room for people and my husbands drums when he plays with bands. It accomodates everything and very well! I often look into other suvs in parking lots to see if they have as much room inside as our CRV and they never do, esp. in back. Other owners of CRVs up to 10 yrs old tell me they love it, no problems ever! It's a joy to own!
First Ricer
no passenger arm rest....usb wont work with android.......no lights on sun visors.........the four bannger runs well at 80 around 2300rpm with acceleration left.... Drivers seat is comfortable for long trips...... no random play with thumbdrive but a 32 gig formatted to fat 32 will work with usb cable.......Bluetooth works ok.

The CRV has Problems
Well after much research I took the plunge. The water was filled with disappointment. The dealer could not program the hands free phone, delivered the car dirty and not serviced, and tried to sell all kinds of useless add-ons. Not what I remembered from my last Honda. The innovation is just not there. Now for all of you poor souls who looked and looked for the wiper indicator its not there. Honda America has some kind dip stick to let you know if wiper fluid is low. Won't find out until you are in a dangerous situation and no way to clear your windsheild. The car was delivered with an empty tank. Watch out for tranmission surge while in Econ Mode.
Love this Car!
The Honda CRV is such a comfortable riding car. I have been a Honda owner of cars since 1993. This is first SUV. Just got it a month ago so not sure how repair frequency there will be. But based on my previous Hondas (2004 Accord has 200K miles and still running perfectly) I have no doubt this will be a reliable car as well.

Worth the drive
Love how it drives and rides. Very happy with the interior space. Gave it 4 not 5 stars just because it shows a little…very little…wear since it’s 11 years old. Drove 300 miles round trip for this car, and am not sorry. Excellent customer service.

Warped spare tire cover (interior)
Like the car but had to go back to the stealership because the spare tire cover over the iner well is warped after 1 month. It happened in the summer, I think it is the humidity. They gave me a new cover no problem but it's the same thing another month later. So, it's back to the stealership again.

Nice CR-V
This nice car, I have bought this in 2013
Luxury
Honda crv great luxury vehicle, great gas mileage ,lots of leg room.
Great vehicle for the price!
This vehicle sways in the wind even when the wind is not that strong. Visibility along the sides towards the back is very poor, and makes it dangerous because you don't see vehicles in your blind spot.

Love my crv EX-L
Can't think of a thing I dislike about my CRV
