ok car but not great
Fun to drive, quick acceleration, cheap fabric interior, mileage only 24/gal- not great, very light, hard time drive in winter, tires bad after 2 years.
CRV-Power Steering Rack
Just purchased the Honda CR-V EX-L (AWD) and with only 71 miles had a problem with the power steering. Took the car back to the dealer to find out that the power steering rack is leaking power steering fluid. The rack is on back order and they should have the part in 2 days. Anyone ever requested a new vehicle? I'm not impressed with the quality or reliability.

Back to Honda
I was searching for a 2007 Honda or Toyota as replacement to my Volvo 850 since June in anticipation of expensive repairs. After a few twists and turns settled on a 2008 CR-V. I have driven less than 600 miles, my impressions are: Rear styling is similar to my Volvo 850 and its side profile is growing on me. The glacier blue looks good in many different lightings. Curve handling is surprisingly good, the bright headlights make me feel safe with night time driving. Seat is reasonably supportive for hours of driving. Everything feels solid and no rattling. Road and wind noises are minimal especially with audio on. Easy ingress and ingress. A viable alternative to a luxury wagon.
Honda's Don't Run Forever
Did lots of research prior to buying this car. It was rated no. 1 small SUV everywhere. I got it at 71K now it has about 111K, It was great for the last 40K miles, didn't ask for anything really. Now the last 2 weeks, I've been noticing the steering wheel making a humming noise while turning when it's parked. When the car starts, it's fine for about 1/2 hour, then it makes that noise and it's difficult to turn the wheel. I did some research and thought it was an "O" ring that was the fix. I took it in for an airbag recall, they also inspected the steering wheel components, turns out it's the Pinion Rack, which is about $ 1700. Shocked to learn that I am not the only one! My first Honda, most likely my last Honda. I just bought a brand new Acura about a month back, wonder if it will have similar steering wheel problems.

Honda, please fix the road noise problem!!!!
Loud definitely describes this car. One can barely carry on a conversation on the freeway. I bought this car used and after only 3 years, the cushions on both seats were flat. AWD sucks bec it only kicks in when it feels the car slipping.. but there is a up side to this car, and that is it's a little bigger than most rivals. Only thing is, you have to sit in the most uncomfortable seats..it got so bad that i had to replace the cloth with am leather.
