Tight fit, complicated software

We got this car new for my wife about a year and a half ago. The good: Great mileage, lots of pep, good sound system. Lots of cargo room. Very cool paint job (cosmic gray, I think it's called). Interior build is solid, lots of plastic on the outside, but I guess that's the trend. The bad: Hondalink software is overly complicated, simple is better in vehicle interactive systems. I'm not a big guy, but getting in and out is like strapping on an F-18. Once you're in, it's fine, but access and egress are a pain (wife is much smaller and does not have a problem, so take that into account). Visibility borders on lousy thanks to thick windshield side posts and placement of a large rear view mirror. Sits too low to the ground for me, headlights of oncoming vehicles are really in your face. My wife finally got a booster sear since the seat does not go up far enough. She didn't really notice on the test drive since it was daytime. Lesson learned! The air conditioning system needed to be worked on twice in the first year, bad compressor and then low refrigerant. Honda is known for using mediocre parts from sub-contractors, and gets lots of recalls. We had a Toyota Camry with 300,000 miles on it before the Honda. Bottom line: I'd think twice before buying another Honda. I'd get a Toyota in a heartbeat.

My 2018 Black Civic Sport Hatch looks fierce. Car has great lines. Love the turbo. It has just enough power to redline at 55 MPH in second gear. Shifts are smooth. I am ringing this baby out everyday and loving it. Get the manual gear box.

Biggest Issue - the funky new console at your knee

While I love most everything about my new Honda Civic Hatchbeack EX, I do not love the little console holder next to my right knee while driving. All is fine while driving, but when you put in on cruise, bring your foot off the pedal, and raises your knee to rest your leg, that pesky console is jamming the side of your knee. It is the most uncomfortable thing imaginable. Did nobody test drive it on cruise and have this problem? So I open for suggestions on how to remedy this: 1. Put a pad on it so it does not poke into the side of my knee. 2. Cut it out... that is no good, cause its a new car. 3. ???
