Daily use and speedy honda civic 2018 1.5 turbocha
I bought this car about two months ago and its been great. Turbocharged engine is pretty fast, in fact faster than a subru brz factory tuned. Economically its pretty reasonable as well, fuel efficient, and service cost as well. Road handling is also great, the only thing that didn’t meet my expectations is when I go fast on a curved road but again its not a sports car so its understandable. Overall I would give the car 95%. Great car if you are looking for a fun daily use car.

Love my Civic!
Just purchased my first Honda Civic, and I am not disappointed. What a fun car to drive. I wanted a small car to run around in that would get good gas mileage around town and it’s been getting 34-35 mpg. My only issue is that I wish the air conditioner would get colder without having the blower up high, but it’s a minor annoyance. Smooth ride, great cockpit design and the exterior design makes it look fast just sitting still. All in all a wonderful fun car to drive. Update: owned it now for almost 2 yrs and I still love this car! I would buy it for myself again! The gas mileage is still fantastic and it’s still a head turner on the road.

The Hatchback Sport totally rocks
Love my new 2018 Civic Hatchback Sport! I had previously purchased a 2015 Civic EX with leather and a navigation system after trading in a 2004 Accord. I liked that car and it had basically every upgrade including a sunroof, leather seats, nice stereo, etc. I expected to keep it for 10 or more years. Since then, Honda has really done a lot with the Civic line. The 2018 Civic Sport Hatchback is a beautiful vehicle. Make no mistake, my 2015 Civic sedan was drab by comparison. So the Sport hatchback not only looks great -- if it didn't have the Honda logo you would swear it was a BMW or Mercedes perhaps -- It drives like a sports car. It is much faster than the 2015 due to the turbo engine, and the wheels and suspension definitely give it a sports car feel when cornering. The "cockpit" has a much better overall look than the 2015, again reminds you of a BMW. The seats are pretty darn nice though I "downgraded" from leather in my 2015 -- they look great and I think they will last very well. Nice touches include one of the cooler, more sporty looking dual exhausts around, and of course the 18 inch wheels look and perform great. All in all, it to me is a huge upgrade from my 2015 Civic, which was a really nice car. It cost me $10.2K to trade in at this point, which hurts a bit, but no regrets. The car that I have now has a sticker price $2000 less than the sticker price of the 2015 Civic, which seems odd in a way. It looks great in black, by the way.

Fun Sporty and Safe
This is an amazing car especially for its class. The 1.5 turbo has tons of power and still has super good fuel economy. It's not sports car fast but for everyday drivability it feels a lot faster than it is and always has quick pickup with the low end torque. The top end power you do notice it starts to die out compared to actual performance cars but it is way faster than anything else in its class. The sport touring does recommend Premium fuel though but you can use regular. I always use premium though. The car also handles great and drives smooth. The hatchback is very useful and you can fit a lot of stuff in it when you fold the rear seats down. All the cabin materials in the sport touring trim are top notch soft touch. There is no hard plastics or cheap materials. The stock sounds systems with the sub also sounds very good. The Honda lane watch is one of my favorite features and provides a lot of safety especially in rush hour and makes switching multiple lanes of traffic a breeze. The adaptive cruise control also works great but is a little sensitive where it slows down and leaves too much space between cars for my liking but it is safe. It can also pretty much drive itself on the highway with the adaptive cruise control and follows the lane markings and even steers. If you let go of the steering wheel though it will give a warning and tell you to hold it. The automatic breaking works great. The car is also extremely safe. I owned a 2016 Honda civic and was t-boned by a pickup truck going over 50mph and was able to walk away with only minor bruises and being a little sore. The car was completely totaled but overall I was fine. My biggest complaint would be the infotainment is kind of slow and the navigation system does not work the best but you can always use android auto or apple carplay so not too big of a deal. I also live in Arizona so having the remote start is great. I start the car from my office before I leave work and it cools it down quite a bit. I also like that the car has an actual spare tire. The only 2 things to improve for me personally would be more top end power even though the car is fast and improved navigation/infotainment system.

Sporty and fun to drive
I agree with most of the reviewers that the Infotainment isn’t that great, slow to response, and lack of the Volume Control Know (this is VARY USEFUL when you need to quickly turn up or turn down the music). I’m not a fan of the red instruments gauges (Sport and Sport Touring model), I wish there was an option to change colors, but I’ll have to live with it. And there’s no overhead SUNGLASSES holder, theres other compartments, but still. Other than that, it’s a great car. Oh and I’m glad Honda brought back the sliding visor/sunshade, many people might not realize it, but it’s very useful feature.

I Love My New Civic
This is my second Civic of this new design. I just turn in my Civic EX Sedan and was so impressed that I now have a Civic Hatchback Sport Turing. I think this is the near perfect car for me. I like the size, performance and styling and of course the Honda reliability. I had zero issues with the sedan in the two and a half years of ownership. I do not find the infotainment screen that difficult to use but, other makes my be better as stated in the review. I basically agree with the Edmund's review in the other areas and would not hesitate to highly recommend these Civics to anyone shopping for this type of car. It is a great value and fun to drive. For comparison, I also own a Honda S2000 so, I think that I know a little bit about driving fun. There are obvious differences but, I enjoy them both a lot.

Honda Civic Hatchback EX big disappointment
Purchased a new 2018 Civic Hatchback in September. Before the car had 2,000 miles on it, I was over 100 miles away from home and when I tried to depress the brake pedal to start the car, the brake pedal was frozen. So I was stuck far away from home and I couldn't start the car. The dealership didn't know what to say except that the computer just stopped communicating with the car for some reason. Then, I noticed the moon roof was rattling when in the up or down position. I just recently brought it back for the 3rd time in eight months and this time they had my car for 3 days and took everything out of the car, including the headliner. I still don't know at this point if they have actually fixed it. The weatherstripping on the driver's side door window fell off as well so they had to order new weatherstripping. I was given a free rental car twice and the dealer, Moss Bros. Honda of Moreno Valley has been wonderful. This car is stunningly beautiful to look at (at least I think so). It drives like a dream and is very comfortable. However, these issues have made me wish that I had never purchased this car. There have been lots of rattles in lots of places but they seem to have calmed down. The stereo is the worst I've ever had in any car and the radio reception is not the best. The buttons on the display are extremely slow to respond. Currently I am getting 35.1 mpg. combined. I have owned 7 cars is my lifetime and the quality of this car is a huge disappointment. I did not expect this from a Honda product.

Love my Zippy Manual Hatchback!
I specifically wanted a manual transmission car and test drove several models, from Subarus to Toyotas. I am a life long Honda owner so I am very biased, but I did find this one to be the most fun to drive while looking cool and having decent mileage. After having the car for over a month my primary gripes are: 1. The stereo is just not great. Wish there were more USB ports. The Bluetooth unmatches from my iPhone constantly. 2. Because I wanted a manual transmission some of the other upgrades were unavailable to me like: moon roof, leather seats, and what I wanted most: Apple CarPlay. This was a huge bummer. 3. Premium gas is recommended... which can get pricey. 4. I wish Honda offered factory car racks especially for such a sporty car. 5. Someone mentioned an issue with the A/C getting cooler which I agree with. All that being said, I was able to stay within my budget and I am happy with the car. If the Touring version had a stick shift I would have sprung for it, it but I understand there is not much of a market for stick shifts. We just took the car on a 20 hour total road trip and it did very well. Love the folding seats. Loving driving fast. Overall, a very happy Honda customer.

Honda Sport Hatch is where its at!
Honestly I wanted a sports car, but it just wasn't the right time. Maybe in a few years, but even then this car is NOT leaving our family. I plan on having it till the wheels fall off. It is just a great car to own and drive. You will not be disappointed by the civic at all. It has plenty of power, but I'm addicted to speed so I always want more. I highly recommend this vehicle. I highly recommend the hatchback sport because it has everything you need and nothing you dont. Plus they look pretty sporty.

Surprise! It’s a Honda.
Zippy little turbo that can be downgraded by setting the Eco drive button for better fuel economy. Fun ride with excellent road handling and impressive antislip in slushy snow conditions. Very stable feel; even in heavy rain and standing water the car feels solid. Car gets plenty of compliments on its sporty looks, although I feel the rear bumper looks a bit like it’s trying too hard. Love the versatility of the hatchback - shockingly large cargo space when seats folded down. Plenty of legroom for tall adults in rear and rear seat definitely doesn’t sit like it was an afterthought. Rear and passenger side cameras really nice, but am definitely missing the blind spot warning light in the driver mirror I think all cars should have. The tech is great, Bluetooth etc. all hands free with voice command. Lots of cubbies for storing stuff. Nice big sunroof that isn’t behind me like on many cars, I’m 5’6”. Remote start so smart - big plus!

Silent but deadly
This car is soooo quiet sometimes you don't even notice it's on. But drop the gear and hear it purr. It is so fun to drive and so spacious inside. The wireless charger charges my phone while in a case and it's just so peooy to drive when I want to drive it hard. And it's super efficient when I'm on the free way. Favorite car ever! Everything I wanted quick, and efficient!

Great lil car suck in snow and ice
When in small amounts of snow and ice back end of car wiggles and scares me to death. Feels like at any given moment my back end is going to loose control. Not a great feeling. Other then that car is amazing. Update: car still runs and handles great. Still sucks in snow ice and rain. My husband is a certified mechanic and feels the problem is the tires are not cleaning out the water ice or snow properly which is causing the car to become unstable in incliment weather.

Cheap interior materials
I really wanted to love this car. The hatch is great and driving in Sport mode is fun. I am so disappointed with the plastic materials. Within two months of purchasing the car a rattle started in the dash. I took the car back to the dealership. They kept the car for three weeks until the found the problem....the HVAC is made of plastic and parts were breaking off and were loose. The service techs told me they were having a lot of problems with the same part. Once it was replaced the rattle was gone. Within another couple of months there are now numerous rattles throughout the dash. I have given up taking it back in. Now I just turn up the volume of the radio and make sure the a/c fan is on high both to mask the rattles. I wish I had purchased the Sport model with the 8 speed transmission rather than the CVT. Except in Sport mode, the CVT is not very exciting to drive. Putting the car in Sport mode reduces the mpg by several miles. I will keep the car for another couple of months and then start looking for something other than a Honda. Honestly, having trust in a Honda is gone. I traded it in 18 months into owning this car for a Mazda CX 5. Probably will not buy another Honda. Very disappointed.

Making me pay to fix defective A/C
Honda installed defective A/C system and I had to pay to fix it. How about $2000! All the rest is from my original review and still true. My display freezes. Bluetooth dies. All problems are intermittent but Honda won't fix it. One or both of the computers running the cameras, voice recognition, Bluetooth, radio etc is defective and Honda won't fix. That's the old review. Now the new stuff: transmission is getting "glitchy". Shakes and rattles your teeth under the right conditions. Also jerks your neck. Piece of "you know what".

Great Car to Drive
There is nothing more you can expect from this generation Civic, especially the exterior design for Hatchback Sport trim. The only unsatisfactory for this specific trim is the audio system, that is the most basic audio system ever for nowadays technologies.

conomical but sporty ride
The LX has all the features you need, unless you live in it and have to be constantly entertained. It looks like a little rocket - went to the dealer to buy the seday, but the hatchback grabbed me. Handled superbly on the test drive - much better than the CRV/HRV or the Prius I also tried.

Good mileage and ponies under the hood
The hp seems to kick in 3 gear and up, so the little guy moves right on to the freeway effortlessly. It is a pleasure to shift and it is a quiet ride considering it's a compact car. Mileage has been as advertised. Ample room to carry people and stuff. I would highly recommend the 6 speed, manual Sport model. I'm not a fan of CVT transmissions, and the Sport model has enough technology to be convenient and not distracting.

The 2018 Civic saved my life
I most recently owned a 2018 Civic..she was my 2nd Civic . I also owned a 2010. I drove my Cuvic home December 19,2018 and I was beyond in love with all the features. Living in upstate New York the heated seats were heaven and I loved the remote start. Last Friday an unexpected storm graced the small country town where I lived. A young driver lost control of their Ford Escape and sent my beloved civic and me into a rock wall..I am alive right now because that little civic saved my life.she is totaled but I cannot believe I got to walk away .i am devastated to lose her but I am already searching for my new civic! I’m a little girl at barely 5 feet and my whole family used to give me hell(I grew up FORD) but now I am confident my new civic will be welcomed by this great full family!

Great car
Good gas mileage, have owned 3 yrs, no problems at all, regular oil changes and just changed air filters.
Driver Distraction locks me out my Audio Controls
If you need to adjust your sound settings, bass, treble, mid, etc, while driving, do NOT buy this car. Once the car starts moving, that function is locked. That's just ridiculous. The lag time for searching for songs is more of a distraction that adjusting sound settings. Get on board Honda. If I had known this before I bought the car, I would have turned around and walked out of the dealership. My only option now is to take this "Premium" head unit out and replace it with aftermarket. I haven't had the car long enough to review anything else.

My first Honda and soo worth it!!
This car is exactly what I was looking for. I just recently bought it a month ago. This was my first time purchasing a new car and I am not disappointed with my purchase. For those thinking about getting the hatchback, make sure you know exactly what you want in order to get the right trim that you want. You need to be aware that there are some trims that do not include certain features. I did my research and I was overly happy with my purchase of the Civic Hatchback EX. The car drives smooth, fast, is spacious, and was not that expensive. The exterior sporty look is awesome (actually one of the reasons I bought the car :) and exactly what I wanted!! Honda is so far a dependable ride and totally worth it.

Standing by this car
I have only had my car since last March. I absolutely love(d) it! I recently was involved in an accident where I hit someone turning in front of me in an intersection. I was going 40mph. My only injury was sternum pain due to the seatbelt and or the airbag and a wrist abrasion from the airbag. My car looked like it had minimum front end damage after that type of accident. I just found out it has been totalled due to the engine shifting. I have heard about the high safety ratings of the civic (which is one of the reasons I bought this vehicle), I believe this proves it. I am very thankful that I was in this car during this accident. Thank you Honda.

Great for the money
Sporty little car that you can ring to the red line out without fear of going crazy fast. The ride is firm without being too rigid. It is a handsome looking car with great lines, great space for 4 adults and bountiful storage. Get the manual transmission. It is easy as silk to shift. Lots of fun. it never gets old.

I love my new honda!! Only 2 things I would change
I bought a brand new 2018 civic hatch Manual 6 speed and It is comfortable to drive, immaculate gas mileage, easy to maneuver and great response times. I have avoided a couple accidents already and that first one was when I knew I chose the right car!! I can honestly say there are only 2 things I would change. 1) my drivers side window motor is already going out and I only have 7k on my car and 2) there is no CD Player. Other than that if you are looking for a reliable, comfortable and affordable car.. This CIVIC is it!

Great overall vehicle good value for you $$$
Great overall vehicle I purchased back in 2018 car has about 80500 miles on it now. One thing I can say is the vehicle has a bad blind spot on the drivers side always double check your mirrors and look over your shoulder. I wouldn't call the car fast but quick is a good way to describe it. Getting about 32 miles per gallon best part is I can do most of the work myself on this car everything is simple just like other Honda vehicles. Overall a good car for your buck but if your looking into getting features like sunroof, heated seats, push to start I would recommend Hyundai just saying 10 years 100000 mile warranty kills Hondas warranty.

Paint faulty after 4 years
I love my little 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback! But it has provided a couple headaches to consider…the first year I battled with a weird sound that turned out to be something with the air conditioning that was under warranty. Another issue that is current, the paint on both rear mirrors and on the handles of the doors are flaking off. My car is not garage kept..but none of my cars have been and it was never an issue with my Taurus or Nissan Sentra (both had over 10 years on them). Something to consider when spending over 25k on a vehicle.

Not good
I have a hatchback sport 2018.. i just bought out the car after financing for 3 years… I have had more problems with the vehicle then times enjoying it… it’s almost as if it turned my disposition into an endless worry when it came to this car.. The car is almost 4 years old & I have had to change the low profile tires 15 times… living in New York with endless pot holes.. a vehicle with low profile tire settings is a no go! Also.. about a week ago.. my alternator blew and for a week now I’ve been searching endlessly to buy a replacement part… It is nowhere to be found because there is a backorder.. BUT NO RECALL ON IT.. Disgraceful.. Honda just wants to rob you with this car

skip the LX. trust me
The 10th gen Civic is a winner, as long as you avoid the base trim. At least the hatchback body style gets you the 1.5L turbo and a huge-feeling cabin with outstanding cargo capacity and fuel economy. That’s the extent of its benefits. Generally speaking this Civic is a great car to live with. Its ride comfort is excellent for a small car and it feels pretty roomy. The seats feel a tad low though, which when paired with a tall center console/armrest area and high beltline, might give claustrophobic people some pause. It’s a great chassis with controlled and agile handling, though steering is a bit numb. The punch from the 1.5L is lively, but turbo lag makes it feel a bit sluggish off the line sometimes. Passing power is more than adequate though. Visibility is ok, but the rising beltline and huge C pillars aren’t doing the car any favors. Over 3 years and 60k later and reliability has been 100% trouble free. It’s well established that the styling is polarizing. I like it. It’s a huge step forward and gives the car character is rarely has. This concept applies to both the exterior and interior. The beige/black interior combo on my car is ghastly, however. (I wanted a manual trans Sport trim, but couldn’t get one on short notice.) Styling is subjective of course, but what’s objective is the cheapness of this interior. Quite plasticky with F tier door cards. But nary a squeak or rattle to be found inside. As I said before, choose any trim other than the LX and this car is excellent. Later models in the generation did get standard Honda Sensing even with the 6-sp manual, if that helps.
