Did a lot of research before buying. This car is an affordable quality car which is a pleasure to drive. The 2017 model is virtually identical to the 2020 model. Great looking car, with lots of safety features, lots of automated convenience features, all on top of a good performance and handling vehicle. I am delighted with my purchase.

Can't Get Much Better For $20k

2017 Honda Civic EX 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

I have now been leasing this vehicle for a year and it has been a wonderful car. The only downside to the vehicle is I have the larger head-unit in mine and sometimes it can fight my Apple CarPlay. When it works - which is about 95% of the time - it is AMAZING. When it doesn't work, I spend a solid 5-10 minutes restarting my car and rebooting the system over and over to get it to work properly. Other than that the only other downside to her is the interior feels very cheap and plastic. The seats are not the most comfortable either. BUT with the technology offered - Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SeriusXM, color digital gauge display, remote start, heated seats, auto lights - it is easy to overlook the poor quality and the sometimes difficult radio. Overall, for the price and cost of maintenance (a whopping $70 oil change with tires rotated) it is an excellent daily driver that is easy to fall in love with.

Isn't a Hatchback! It's a HOT-chback!

I purchased a 2018 Honda Civic Hatchback EX about a month ago, and OMG, I love it! Beautiful design inside and out. Great performance, ride quality, fuel economy, roomy cabin, etc., etc., etc... I also love all the extras and the technology that this car have. Now if we talk about reliability, you know you can NEVER go wrong with Honda, they will literally last forever and the "visits" to the mechanic, pretty much non existence. Extremely happy I got this turbo-good-looking hatch!

All is great. Hard to believe that much car for the money. It has all the toys, great performance, and great gas mileage. Lovin it. One caveat...Apple CarPlay is not 100% reliable. It crashes or gets bugs every once in awhile. It could be more reliable. Great when it works.

Beware of the rear headroom in the hatchback!

I test drove an EX hatchback and eventually did *not* buy one. There was one particular aspect which gave me a pause but which many reviews seem to miss: the rear headroom. I'm tall, but nothing crazy (6ft) and when sitting in the back, my head was firmly against the ceiling. Curiously, that wasn't the case if I set completely straight, only when I reclined comfortably -- I would hit the edge of the ceiling with the back of my head. It seems that the ceiling in this car just isn't very flat and leans too much into the cabin near the edges. Considering how large this new Civic is compared to the older ones, I find this unacceptable. Note that I set in a sedan version for comparison and that one was OK -- this problem is specific to the hatchback.
