Worth every penny
First new car in over 10 years. Worth every penny. I can't imagine driving anything else and being as satisfied with it as I am with the 2016 Civic.

Wow! As usual, the Civic makes the grade!
Two years later --- I LOVE my Honda Civic! Great gas mileage and no issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend buying one -- even if it's used! I owned an Accord for 11 years and then purchased a Toyota Corolla (kids had grown) and now I'm back to Honda. I bought the LX because I'm not into all the fancy high-tech auto-braking/sensing warnings features. I do love the rear backup camera and bluetooth features! I am so happy with the car especially the acceleration. I test-drove the Elantra and the Corolla and came back to the Civic. I have to say that I LOVE the new sporty design. I would highly recommend this car!

Great gas mileage, lots of safety and convenience
Great car! Seats 4 comfortably. Moonroof is a nice perk. Sirius XM is great! Clean lines, comfortable for average size persons, handles well. Minimal maintenance or repair in 4 years.

Avoid. The air conditioning is a problem.
At 4 years it needed a 2000 repair. Unacceptable. The new 1234yf refrigerant is a disaster. Berger Montague is investigating possible claims against American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and Honda North America, Inc. on behalf of consumers who drive a 2015 – 2019 Honda Civic. These models have defective air conditioning systems that cause the condenser to crack and leak refrigerant. Not only does this stop cold air from flowing, but a refrigerant leak in a vehicle’s AC system can damage other expensive components within the system. The condenser defect is often not covered under Honda’s Powertrain or Limited warranties, which come with the Honda Civic, so drivers have been forced to pay out of pocket to repair their car’s AC.

2016 Honda Civic Sedan Touring
Big for a "small" car, Ok gas mileage (35 mpg combined), Ok riding. All technology inside but especially Navigation System & GPS have BIG problems - either never starts, get stuck in a "searching" mode not finding satellites, or it shows the car completely off the road in a wrong location - useless if you need to use Navigation. I found hundreds of other owners having similar issues: just search YouTube! My 2016 Honda Civic Touring Sedan is going back to manufacturer based on the Lemon Law: same issue repaired more than 3 times (in fact 6 times) and still unresolved. If you don't own one, don't buy a 2016/2017 Civic: only headaches. Both American Honda & the dealership, Honda Cars of Aiken, constantly lying and trying to manipulate the law.

Outstanding New Civic Design
This new Civic is outstanding in almost every category. Typical Honda quality throughout the vehicle but a couple amazing features include the turbo engine. Not only is it already amazingly fast, for a Civic sedan, but when you shift into Sport (S) this car will get you out of almost any sticky situation with ease. So far we only owned the car for a month and the Apple CarPlay suddenly would not recognize either of our iPhones. Honda service had to update our software to get it working again. Also, I do find the lack of volume knobs for the entertainment center to be annoying since we're all quite use to that capability. Hopefully, I'll get use to it soon. Other than that, love the car. And the gas mileage has averaged between 40 - 43 MPG with mostly highway (90%) and city (10%). Additionally, the Honda Sensing technology has been excellent. It's really great at keeping you alert when you're driving long distances. I highly recommend.

This car is fantastic
Bought this for the kids because it has automatic braking and my short offspring liked the visibility. A lot of folks think kids should drive old cars because mistakes are less costly. As a 20 year insurance professional I know protecting my children's lives is more important so finding a car with auto brake lead me here. The car has a top IIHS rating (NHTS star rating is worthless in my opinion) but in addition to being safe this thing is great to drive. My daily driver is a sports car and I am very happy jumping into the Civic with half the horsepower because the chassis is fantastic, it makes the whole driving experience nice. This is our first CVT transmission, Honda really dialed it in and it does not distract from the experience. The control layout is great, apple and android car play is fantastic, this $20K car has better nav then my spouses $45K factory nav. Took a while to get used to the lack of radio volume knob but that is so minor. The servicing dealer are a bunch of jerks, actually charged us for an oil change for a factory recall regarding the piston not being attached correctly. called the service department manager and he immediately agreed to remove the charge but the guy who added it wouldn't remove it over the phone so we had to go back - which was the last time ever at that dealership. Update 6/2017. Car is still fantastic. The only small complaint is a torn rear seat after kid dragged viola case over it. I'll take safety and reliability over interior materials. Update 2.0 non turbo engine is 100% reliable, still happy with the car. Update: The civic has a few battle scares but runs, drives, and operates fantastic. No mechanical or other issues.

NOT GOOD ON SNOW! And repair costly
I own a 2016 honda civic 2.0L vtech and CVT transmission with 46k miles and just want to let everyone know If you need to make it up a big hill in the snow or ice you have to stop before the hill and turn off the traction control and then get a 25+ mph head start if you DONT turn off traction control you will lose all power to front wheel and even if the tires spinning a little once you get to 3,000 rpms you lost all power... but if you hold in your TC button and disable the TC you will not lose rpms thus giving you enough momentum to make it up the slippery slope.. on a side note repair wise. parts and labor I spent $864.49 on a new evap system, gastank, battery, cabin air filter and got a 4 wheel alignment. But the reason I gave this car a 4 star review is because it is a very nice looking stylish vtech civic that's comfortable and its handling is really good the stock sound system is pretty good and its reliable as usual because it's a civic..

love it!!!
This is the best civic ever made. Well designed, roomy, powerful, very responsive to steering. The car feels like hugging the road. I love the CarPlay; my map application shows on the screen as if you have a navigation system built into the car. The turbo engine is a little noisy, but I love the sound when l step on the gas pedal and the turbo kicks in. The only option I got is the side molding for the doors to minimize the dents caused by cars parked next to you. Well done Honda!!!

Never considered a Honda but love it
We were looking at other cars like the Focus, Fusion and anything other than a Honda. My wife and I saw this 2016 Civic EX-T and checked it out then took it for spin and went from there. We got a killer deal from the dealer and really love this car. It is peppy, shifts smooth and the navigation system is awesome. Also, the sound system is great when you crank it up and the trunk space is tremendous for a small car. The only small issues are the cruise control does not slow the car when going down hills as it speeds up a little and the ride is a bit choppy at times but not a big deal to us as everything else is good to go. So much for getting a Ford. Now after owning this car 4 years it has been great, but the interior has some road noise, rattles and squeaks that it did not have when new otherwise still good to go. The A/C vents turn up when first turn on for cool air then after a few minutes they can be adjusted properly. Now there is a rattle on the dashboard area that I cannot find and fix and noticed that the car drifts more now to the right then it used to but still handles well. As of 2023 still have this car and it is still good to go.

Very nice car
The car is great I've owned it for 4 weeks now and it's awesome with all the technology it has. The ride is very comfortable, all my passengers have loved it and it's visually appealing as well! I would say that the City MPG they over shot though so far the best gas mileage I can get average with mostly city is about 28-30 (that's what the vehicle estimates so I'm sure it's even a bit lower than that). Great highway mileage though and definitely plenty of power if you pop into Sport.

Love the 6 speed manual transmission
I'm 48 years old and this is the my favorite car I have ever owned. I get 41 mpg combined city and highway. The car is fun to drive. I have the LX, so I like that it is less technical than the other models. It has manual dials for volume and temperature controls and I haven't had any problem with the Bluetooth.

No support for my headaches
When I first purchased the car it was in the shop 9 times within the first 8 weeks because I kept having trouble with the electronic system. They could not figure out what was going on sometimes the windows would not open sometimes the moonroof would not open and I could no longer hook up my phone to the car. They insisted that the problem was with the phone even though I told them numerous times that it works perfectly before they touched the car. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a woman named Stevie from the lack of customer service department who was so bad, so inconsiderate and uncaring that because of her I will probably never lease a Honda ever again. Whenever I have had a problem with the car miraculously it is never a fault of the car according to them they will continuously blame something else whether it's my phone the curvature of the Earth or the fact that mercury is in retrograde they will use any excuse not to accept responsibility when something doesn't work right in the car

Great Car!
Not a problem in 70,000 miles. Love the Turbo/CVT combo! Best car out there for the money! MPG is awsome. Always over 30 mpg, and often between 40-46 mpg.
I LOVE my car
This lucky girl was given my new Honda Civic EX-T by my fabulous husband. I have always been a fan of everything Honda. My first car was a 2009 Honda Civic and I loved it, but the switch to this new car has been breathe taking. First off, I love the little turbo in my car. The first time I drove it the torque actually caught me off guard. I always kind of believed that Honda civics were reliable, yet gutless little cars, but with this new car that is not the case. Next, everything about this car is beautiful. The interior seat material is nice and does not look cheap. Everything about the inside of this car feels luxury. Now, yesterday was the first day that I was truly able to test how my car would do in the snow. It had snowed before sun down and then froze over as it was about 18 degrees at night. Needless to say, my car did fantastic! I did not slide once, mind you, I am a pretty cautious driver in the snow, but in comparison to other front wheel drive vehiclesi have driven in the snow, this car did so great, which is a major perk for me with the crazy Utah weather I have to deal with. The only downfalls I have had with this car are the climate control and the touch screen steep system. My climate control has had issues cooling when I am idling, and not just a small amount. When I took it in to see what was wrong, when the dealer tested it, it was blowing 80 degree air when I had it set to the coolest setting. It would blow cold and hot on and off. They ordered my parts but I have yet to hear another word from the dealer, I'm sure though, aside from whatever is wrong specifically with my car, the climate control would be great. As for the touch screen stereo, it can be a little slow and has some glitches here and there but nothing that bothers me too much. Overall, I am so in love with this car. There are so many perks to this car that I use for my 40 mile daily commute.

I hate that screen! Where are the knobs?
The lease on my '13 Civic EX-L w/nav expired this week and I debated whether to buy it or lease the '16 that got good reviews. I loved everything about the '13 and after driving the '16 for just one round trip to/from work, I knew I made the wrong decision. I guess I should have done better research, but I never would have thought they would *remove* basic features I relied on often -- a valet key?? A knob(!) to control the a/c fan?? A knob to turn the radio off/on and adjust the volume?? All gone. That nav screen is also positioned too low -- the '13 was higher so I could glance at it without taking my eyes off the road. And does the steering wheel not adjust up/down?

Only one complain!
Low tire pressure warning keeps coming up!! Is this a future recall issue? There is a recall in the car related to brake issues. Stereo is not good, speakers are cheap and one is already trashed. Car ride is quiet for a small car. Honda had put a nice small car for the competition to catch up now. Car has great pick up, turbo is recommended, great performance.

I hate this car
My biggest complaint about this car is the transmission. If you ever need to slow down quickly then speed up, forget about it. It's like the transmission is stuck in high gear for a second before it decides you're done stopping. I had a close call once because of this. A minor complaint about the transmission is the knuckle dragging fake shift points, it's controlled by the computer there should be an option to turn it off. Another issue is the anemic horn, that sound like a dying giraffe, which I blame for not being able to prevent an accident. The entertainment system is the opposite of ergonomic. The angle of the screen is terrible for a touch screen and several buttons are too small for arms reach. The mute swipe is hit or miss and slow so some times I'll try to mute twice and then it'll mute and unmute. The screen changes and animates for about a minute when I start driving which I find annoyingly distracting. The parking brake is not very usable especially if you are in an emergency and your fine motor skills go out the window. Also why do you have to push the break to release the parking break? The seats are so curved, they force you to slouch. Other then these issues the car is OK. It drives on the freeway nicely, mileage is good and it has plenty of trunk space.

Should have bought a Toyota
I do not recommend this car. They have problems with the steering mechanism. Just had to get a new rack&pinion done at 40,000 miles. Dealership quoted me 3,200 to fix it. Honda is aware of this issue but have not made it into a recall yet. Just got the car back yesterday from the dealership. First chance I’m getting is to sell it and buy something else. Honda needs to step up their game!

Great Car But!
Honda did a amazing job in 2016 Civic touring Model, which i leased in February 2016. On $27000.00 Price tag and no memory seat, no seat cooling option for driver seats annoying. Cheap Tablet in the name of Infotainment system and Navigation, which is gives you a wrong directions5 out of 10 times, GPS never calibrate for the first 5 minutes. Clock never sync always stuck on previous time. Otherwise its a great car.

Better than imagined
This is my second Honda Accord and my 2016 Civic EX is really a magnificent car. For under 20k it has many features and extras. Keyless, moonroof, really sharp exterior, backup and side mirror are some of my favorites. I totally recommend this vehicle. It should be at the top of everyone's list if you are looking for a 4 door sedan with plenty of room inside and a stylish looking exterior. I bought the black and it looks amazing.

DO NOT BUY! I am a 20 year Honda owner
A couple of things came from my experience with this POS. One, I will NEVER buy a new Honda again. Second, it forced me to go out and see what other quality vehicles are being made and boy, everyone else does it better now. Honda is riding on reputation only and it a flimsy one at best. Do your research and you will see how far Honda has fallen. This car should be pulled from their lineup and redone. The only redeeming part of the car is it looks good and has good acceleration - other than that it is the BIGGEST POS I have ever bought. I had to sue Honda in order to get my money back - 18 trips to the dealer in 18 months for 2 issues - one minor and one major. The minor issue was a design flaw with the rear Subwoofer - bounced the rear window and deck and never sounded good - after MULTIPLE TIMES to the dealer, Honda said, flat out, we will not fix this anymore, even though it's under warranty and still not performing properly (Huh?). The second one and this a major issue - the "info-tainmaint" center NEVER worked correctly - Honda's answer "when it doesn't work right, turn the car off and turn it back on". Because that's a reasonable thing to do when you're driving 65mph down the highway. Long story short - go elsewhere. I replaced this POS with a beautifully performing Subaru (was SHOCKED at how nice it was) and as soon as I can, I will be getting rid of my 2016 POS CRV (junk and OVERPRICED). ***UPDATE - 03/22 - Edmunds won’t leave me alone about updating my review. Honda settled out of court a while ago and banned me and my wife from buying a Honda/Acura for 5 years. Ha - Great company. Fyi - we still have the Subaru and I recently bought a Toyota 4Runner - won’t be looking at Honda again.

Short rough ride
As the owner of two civics-06,10, I took my family to test drive a 16 model- 4door EX. I am old school, so I was freaked out by the fact that this car has NO key. You touch the door handle and it unlocks, you put your foot on the brake to start it-with a button!! The ride was ROUGH!!! Much rougher than the the ride of my 2 door ex, and 4 door LX(with 204,000) miles on it, mind you. Very disappointed. Drove it straight back to the dealer.....so so disappointed. So now I have to just get a used Accord. BTW we also drove a 16 Accord LX-the ride was MUCH better, but was with the vibration when accelerating, and sitting at a stop light about!! I guess I am being too picky folks. but I expected a lot better vehicle. Hell I own 2 of them, I know they have been good cars for me....but I have serious doubts about the new ones.....

Great four and a half star car
The problem here is that I was looking for a five star car at a four star price. The Civic is a fantastic car for the price but the touring model does not have the same feel of an Acura TSX or Lexus ILS etc. even though they seem to have the same features. The gadgets all work but the feel is just one of "Its a Honda Civic". I would not open my eyes inside of it and think I was in a luxury sedan, but rather a fully loaded popular priced model. If that's what you want, that's what they deliver.

Ok, but not great
THE BAD: no classic volume control knob; ugly '90s style dashboard back light control stick that doesn't work during the day anyway; climate options slow response up to few seconds; you can't access on-screen controls (audio, climate, etc) once you are on driving Reserve or have right turn signal on (this should be available to override); terrible mirrors - feels like you are drunk when you look at them - pick interior's reflections easily which adds extra distractions, curved left edge on drivers mirror adds more confusion than help; plays mp3 from USB flash drive but only if USB port between seats is used, from one give you error message about music files being invalid format; no control over the way mp3 folders are listed (looks like they are listed by date created rather than alphabetically), also 'random in folder' function doesn't work correctly (occasionally jumps to other folders too - very annoying); no option to create playlist or fav list; interface not exactly intuitive, no theme preview etc.; mirror and rear cameras quality not good as expected (early '00s quality); super ugly and oversized passenger airbag status light; not much space under the radio/display console; plenty of space between; transmissions shifts weird when try to accelerate quickly; some weird bumps on the floor (driver and passenger, looks like something, but designed that way) THE GOOD: very quiet comparing to previous editions; nice seats; sticks to the road pretty good; nice rims; remote engine start option; occasionally feels like you drive hybrid; good overall, probably best buy for such budget

Research the DEALER as much as the car!
The cabin of this car is small and is not conducive of 5 people traveling. I am 5'4" and if I position my driver seat to comfort my driving. I can not comfortably fit in the backseat. The cup holders are small, although there is a larger one underneath there is only one, that is usable only if the smaller tray is removed. The compartments in the door can not hold even a water bottle. The USB connection underneath the radio is apparently not compatible with (HTC, Galaxy, IPhone), although it worked fine for the first month! The other USB port is a 1.5 port and it takes a lengthy period of time to charge 'anything'. The stereo has been beeping and switching screens since two months after I purchased it (bought in April 2016). Between two dealerships here was an update done on the stereo and low and behold....same problem. The dashboard houses a loading circle everyday which prohibits me from seeing the speed and every other feature of the the dash screen. HONDA CORP AND THE DEALERS HAVE DONE NOTHING AND NOW I FIND MYSELF IN A LAWSUIT TO REPLACE A STEREO. ***UPDATE: As of July 2017 my stereo's parts have finally, finally been replaced. I have waited over a year and half to have this fixed which is scream for help as far as Honda standing by their product. Furthermore, I have been having trouble as an expecting mom with the height of vehicle (sits too low), and the room in the vehicle is barely sufficient to hold an infant car seat and use the front seat properly. a reduction of the trunk to add more space to the cabin would be a PLUS!!!

Surprised Happy Owner
The Civic is much more luxurious than I expect. The cabin is very quiet, something you would find in a more expensive car. It has a blind side camera, so when want turn right or make a lane change to right, the blind spot on passenger side pops up on the led screen. Very handy in the city, when there are bicyclist in your blind spot. Over all very happy with the purchase.

2016 Honda Civic = PIECE OF CRAP
I really had to stop myself from giving this vehicle all 1 stars throughout the rating, but I tried to be unbiased as possible. Long story short, after 5500 miles my fiance had to replace the entire transmission. Yes, everything was covered. But the total experience throughout the fixing process completely ruined my trust in Honda as a company. I took the car in for an oil change and to check the transmission (when putting the car in drive, it will take a few seconds then jump into gear). Not a big deal, but the car is brand new, so I took it right into the dealership. Checked in the car 6:30am. 9 am rolls around, still no word. After speaking to the rep, he said the tech was on the phone with Honda engineer because it's a brand new model of the civic. Makes sense. After 2 days of me calling to check on the car, (not the dealership calling me to inform me) they finally put in the order for the trans without even calling me first. That was their first mistake. Then they said it will be in on a Friday, didn't show up until the following Wednesday. Luckily we were on vacation and didn't need the car anyway. The rep told me our civic was the first one to have this problem. I get it, things happen. But what did Honda do to regain our trust? One free oil change. We are currently looking for another vehicle now and never buying another Honda. Until this day, Honda still doesn't know what's wrong with the trans. I wouldn't recommend this car to my worse enemy.

Please change the rear seats!
HONDA DESIGNERS BEWARE...The Touring model is really a beautiful car until you notice the front and rear seats are completely different!?! The front seats are perforated leather worthy of luxury cars, but rear seats are of plain jane variety reminding you of police cruisers and taxicabs (puke!)

Not much standard
I have always wanted a Honda Civic always dreamed of having one! The deal breaker was the price of the car and available tech options. I hate leather seats....I shouldn't have to upgrade to the highest model to get satellite radio. My major requirements were Bluetooth, satellite radio, leather wrapped shift knob....the car drives great but having to pay so much for a base model with no satellite radio...even on the fit it's not standard...I went with a Kia Forte.

DONE BUY THIS CAR YET!
I purchased this car three weeks ago and was initially very impressed , you get a lot of car for the money. Day one the blue tooth kicks me out after 54 seconds. So the next day back to dealer who sets up phone again, and 54 seconds later the phone is dropped. I have an older phone not a smart phone but it works great in our 2016 BMW and 2011 lexus. Third trip to dealer told my phone was old, but my wife i phone 6 only lasts 2 minutes. This a known problem with the civics, finally the tech guy looked at the car and said there are problems. Three weeks and under 300 miles and the radio system needs to be replaced. Skip this car for now , no loner no free oil changes just a headache.

Typical Honda
It's another buzzy four cylinder overpriced import. The car magazines will gush over it initially, then back off in a couple of years. Honda's reputation for reliability is well deserved and is a big plus. But the car is small and feels cramped. It does handle well. The tech is good, especially blind spot detection. For the same money you can get a nice Kia Optima or Mazda3 or Mazda6 even. They deserve to be driven too.

I drove a 2003 Acura CL and traded it in for the 2016 Civic. I love the way it drives and love, love the gas milage. I'm in a lease right now but at the end of the lease a may purchase. I love my new Civic.
