2013 HONDA CIVIC 4 DOOR HAS RADIO PROBLEMS/DEFECTS
If you buy this car, know that if any thing goes wrong and can not be fixed, Honda will do nothing about this problem. My USB port for the audio freezes everyday and also the radio dashboard freezes. Honda says they have not found a fix for this problem. I have taken my car to Norm Reeves Honda in Cerritos California at least 9 times, they have replaced the radio twice. The last time was on 4/11/16 through 4/16/16 Honda had my car for a week and could not fix the radio. I then have to contact the manufacturer, American Honda, to reopen my case. Every month I take my car in and then Honda will call me back with in 4 days to talk about what happened. Then they say there is nothing they can do, and try to send me to the dealer again. Very stressfull

2013 Civic Si DELIVERS!
UPDATE (70,000 mile): Still a GREAT FUN to drive with no component defects nor unusual maintenance! Having driven nothing but 4-WD cars over 20 years, I was frustrated this winter getting stuck in ice and thick snow on 3 occasions - even with Michelin X-Ice snow tires! Soooo. . .I'll have 4 each Nokian Hokkapolittas v8 studded tires for next year, so I'm hoping that getting stuck will soon be in my rearview mirror! UPDATE (55000 mile): Still driving my Si and aside from routine maintenance, there's been ZERO mechanical, electrical, nor physical problems! Great car! To gain horsepower (~36), torque, and engine responsiveness, I've added a cold air intake, 2.5" stainless downpipe with catted exhaust, and remapped / retuned my ECU with Hondata software and Vit Viper online tech services (a fun project, but realistically, great gains can be had with just the CAI and Hondata and forgoing exhaust changes). ORIGINAL: After driving a 2002 WRX, 2009 Forester XT (turbo), a tuned 1990's Altima (w/ slip diff), I'm happy to say the new Si is the best of them all! Road & wind noise are minimized, hearing only the rough & grumble growl of the engine. A buttery smooth clutch with short throws is easy & fun. Front slip diff performs remarkably, & even makes driving on all season 17" / 45s in snow & slush tolerable (I normally have snow tires). Ergos are nice, especially the back split fold down seats, center arm rest, matched int colors, & standard back-up camera. Of course there could be more space & luxury, like an Acura TSX or Audi A4. But then again, you won't pay $30k++ for the Si! Grade: A+

This Si has drive!
This car has manual transmission 6 forward, and 1 reverse. What is great is that it also has cruise control for those long drives. Apart from the power of the v-tech engine (205 hp approx.) with its DOHC compared to its predecessor Civic EX SOHC, every trip is an adventure. I will truly miss it once I return it. The only feature it does not have is AWD, which may be a plus considering the snow we have been having lately in the Winter (it did handle the snow better than others with the front wheel drive, the AWD would give it that extra traction to make headway since the car itself is low). Other than that, I love it!

Terrible Paint - Even Worse Customer Service
This is the Honda that finally broke me of my Honda habit. Had more rock/stone chips in 6 months than my VW GTI did in 6 years. Their paint quality was comparable to what you might find from a cheap paint shop. My professional body and fender guy examined the car and told me the paint job was obviously bad from the factory. When I called Honda "Customer Service" they basically told me to shove it. I can't speak to the quality of their current vehicles, but I understand paint issues continued to plague the cars for models of that era - research it online. If you take pride in the appearance of your vehicle, just DON'T BUY A USED HONDA from the mid 20-teens. I ended up selling the car at a substantial loss out of pure frustration, and I'm so glad I did. I remember reading that Honda's mechanical reliability was slipping as well. It was such a shame to see what WAS a rock solid brand for decades losing its way. Hope they have found their way back, but based upon my own consumer experience I will never spend my cash on that brand again. I highly recommend everyone do their research before purchasing new.
Not so happy thhis time
Car which I test drived was firm (what I liked) and literaly glued on the road. That was 2012 model. My Si on the other hand feel very unstable, the back has some lateral movement what feels like on the ice you want to corected constantly with speed over 65. Car also pooled to the left most of the time. So far I had 7 appointments with the dealer. First blame was for electric power steering. now for surface of the freeway and width and profile of the tires ( 17/215/45) They checked alignment twice and every time 1-4 parameters out of specs. So the wide tires are instaled for less stability?Have hard time to buy it. I have read many review on Si but nobody complained about the same problem? While I didn't get much help from dealer, I troubleshoot problems with my friends engineers from Ford. It turns out that two of my tires were defective (conicity). Michelin graciously replaced tires and car is perfect now.

The si is amazing
The power band in the manual trans is amazing. The hfp package adds much needed styling to the exterior. I bought used with 240k km on it and it doesn’t burn a drop of oil. The only things I have replaced are a few wear and tear parts like steering wheel controls and the window switch. It’s easy to work on so far and is my favourite Honda I’ve ever owned. I regularly get 8L/100 in town
