Not fonda this Honda
This my 6th Honda. One Civic and all Accords after that. lease a new one every 3 years. have always had a good experience. This last one was a let down. 2016 Accord Sport. Bad paint, bad brakes, horrible CVT transmission, sub par sound system. Overall quality of build has gone down. Have to get roof and trunk deck repainted as the paint couldn't even hold up to bird crap, brakes need replacing at 28K, last Honda Accord, same miles, same ride to work, same driver and no issues with brakes. Will not lease another one again and can't wait for this lease to end.

It is an Accord!
Newly purchased Touring model, Year 1. Performance and Handling is what I would expect from a Honda. Nicely hugs the curves and rides smoothly over bumps. Multiple displays I found nice and I don't think I would like it without it. I set the upper console to display the date/time and any alerts and left the bottom console for the multimedia / audio use. Yes, you can do that, along with setting the background of that screen. The quality of sound is nice but don't expect a powerful sub-woofer. Navigation was nice, almost good enough. The touring model (Coupe)feels like the old Camero's, nice space in the front seats, back seats are good for kids, adults may hit their head if they are tall. Bugs in the console: many times the console is slow to boot and may not start on the screen you were previously using. Parking sensor display on the monitor is intermittent, 1 out of 10 times it does not show up. Collision avoidance system seems to be a little sensitive. Sometimes flashes break while nobody is around, yet it auto breaked when someone cut me off, nice. This car is loaded! The only things I can think of right now that I would ask Honda to change is: 1. The main console uses android 4 OS, it is 1 year old and already 3+ years out of date. This should be update-able. 2. There is an option to add apps, but it is blocked. Why is it there if you are going to block it? Please update and enable it. 3. Warranty, Come on Honda, you know you are better than the default warranty. Get with the times and update it to something like 5/50000 or something a little better than 3/36000. 4. Dual power seats, currently only the drivers seat is power. 5. Power tilt for steering wheel. (Like the Lexus has) There is always room for improvement but Over all, I love this car! Update: Parking Sensors will randomly shut off. This could be an issue if you actively use them like I do.

Honeymoon wore off after a few months
Going to be a bit lengthy but wanted to express my thoughts on the 2016 Accord Touring. Coming from a 07' Pontiac Grand Prix GT (V6) Looked for numerous months to find a fuel efficient yet "sporty" v6 sedan. Being 6' 2" and 250 pounds it was actually hard! Many cars I didn't fit well until the Accord. Ended up getting the Accord Touring certified used with only 32,500 miles or so in November of 2017. I was excited for all the upgrades that my Pontiac didn't have. Bluetooth, Navigation, Adaptive Cruise Control and a few other features. Actually little surprised Honda doesn't have cooled seats in the front or blind spot indicators in the mirrors. Based on all the other safety lane departure, brake system, etc. Honda guy said then you'd have to go to Acura. I figured I'd lived without it for 10+ years in the Pontiac so whatever. After owning the car for a month or so is when the horror show started and the honeymoon wore off. When driving to sell the Pontiac to a private buyer (too bad) I noticed one of the DRL (day time running light/ LED strip) was half blown on the Honda. I figured no worries "certified/under warranty" called up the dealer I bought it at (Honda in Schaumburg, IL) RUDE Gal tells me its going to be $140 diagnostic fee... But refunded into the work on the new headlight assembly. I'm like no ma'am JUST need the LED Light strip... "not available need to get the WHOLE headlight assembly" $1,081.00 Yes people over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS IF YOUR DRL GOES OUT. (Currently being investigated class action lawsuit) Eventually took to a new Honda dealer in Barrington, IL where they treated me much better and didn't charge a ridiculous fee for warranty work. FYI factory warranty was up at 36k miles and at that point was at 33k or so. Next warranty issue was the intermittently freezing touchscreen. Eventually got that replaced after dropping the car off a few times under warranty. I was getting pretty upset since I was just about to pass that factory warranty... another 1k for just the radio. So within the first few months of ownership car was in the shop 3x and over 2k in warranty work... At this point I'm at 38k miles and have had it for 9 months (I don't drive much) As many others have mentioned Stereo is pretty much crap. Turn up the bass and plastic in the rear deck rattles. Sounds pretty terrible in general... Flat/ no life to it. I've taken it upon myself to try and isolate by stuffing rags/ foam (helped a little) Just hitting bumps in the road plastic rattles and makes the car feel cheap. The 6 speed transmission is just an absolute mess. Shifting at the worst times when accelerating/ decelerating I can't say I hear it clunk when slowing down, more of a engine brake and quite the jerking feeling. The accelerating is decent but often hits an odd gear and as someone said "rubber bands" you forward. I've also seen complaints the car lurches in cold weather when accelerating with a 1-2 second delay. 100% agreed, has happened to me multiple times. Honda just says "it's the road" Pontiac had no such issues on the same exact road. I definitely miss the volume knob but fortunately have the controls on the steering wheel. I'm pretty frugal with my $ and keep my cars for a good 150k ++ miles easy. But this car has been so disappointing I've already thinking about trading it in and losing my butt on it. The Mrs has a 14' Grand Cheerokee with the 8 speed transmission. Shifts like butter and fantastic acceleration with the v8. First and probably last Honda vehicle. Wish I kept driving the Pontiac to hold out and try something else. ** UPDATE 3/2020 *** Had the car a few years now and I'm only at 56k miles. I've had both headlights replaced due to the LED strips burning out (under warranty permanently now), I've had the radio replaced under warranty due to it freezing and I've also had the Honda dealer read their own technical bulletin that went out regarding the rattling from the rear deck. Same issues with the downshifting in colder weather. Fortunately on the highway I've gotten up to 38 MPG's so for a v6 I think that is good. Stock speakers/ subwoofer are terrible so I had a 10" Rockford Fosgate P300 installed which adds some oomfh. Contemplating on having all the speakers replaced with something better, but really don't want to spend the extra money... Like I did originally to get the "premium stereo." Other then that the car starts perfectly / perfect engine condition and has strong acceleration.

Accord poorly insulated
I feel the 2016 Accord EX-L is a nice car for limited use meaning around town and short trips with speeds bellow 60 miles/h over that speed it gets very noisy to the point that I have to raise the radio volume that makes me feel very uncomfortable. The noise is from the wind, the road, I think the car is not properly insulated, also the top of the dashboard gets very hot with the sun reflecting the heat in my face. _ 1 year and 4 months later, the car performs as new, very reliable but with the persistent wind noise at speeds over 60 m/h and the sun insulation where the interior gets very hot.

2016 Accord Touring
Came from a 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 with technology package: Was totaled in wreck. Thought I would try the accord touring this time, even though I really liked the Camry I had. First and foremost: Felt I got a little better price on the Honda vs the Toyota. Ride comfort is a bit smoother, and has more technology with the Honda sensing package. Acceleration on the touring is a little less peppy than the Camry v6, but good enough. Sport mode improves this a bit. Interior is more roomy and more comfortable for longer drives. Stereo system is a little weak for a 360 watt system, but Camry has dissapointed in this area as well. But the audio and navigation features are better on the accord. I have only been driving it for 3 weeks as of this writing. I have to say I like the accord so far. After 2 years and 50k miles only issue I have had is the push button starter seems to go out frequently. May look at purchasing the new 2018 2.o turbo? After a year and a half, only problem I have had is the starter, for some reason, the starter keeps going out. Been replaced once under factory warranty once, and needs it again I'm afraid. Update 09/29/19 Current mileage 89,000 After owning 3 years here are my current thoughts: Ride comfort is still smooth. However, the starter has been a big issue, Just been replaced the 3r time since I bought it new. 1st time under warranty, 2 and 3rd cost me 700+ each time. The Led headlights quit working, cost me a few bucks to have them replaced, however, Honda added it on their recall list, so I was re-imbursed from Honda a year later. In fact, just got the check. Trunk Torsion tension bar snapped, so trunk wouldn't stay open, had it fixed at dealer. The buttons for garage door opener haven't worked good since it was new. Also, the stereo subwoofer speaker quit working, but I had a new one installed by a car stereo dealer (not the car dealer)and it improved the sound tremendously. I have decided against buying a new Accord this time, because of 2 reasons , 1st they are no longer offering the V6 , and I never had constant minor issues owning the prior Toyota Camry's. However, I will note, that the new accord sure does look nice and is comfortable, and drives great. The 2.o Turbo is fine, but I still like v6 raw horse power, not fabricated HP with high rev. Now its March 30 2020, Has 103,450 miles. Still driving it. Had everything fixed including the starter, this time I went with a non honda manufactured starter bought from napa. Seems to be much better and hasn't failed. Still rides comfortably, in fact I was going to buy a new 2020 XSE camry v6 back in Nov 19, but haven't yet. I been happy with the car so far at this point. Due to the virus outbreak, I may look at getting something in a few months at a discount.
