Used 2013 Honda Accord Consumer Reviews
Living on past reputation!
Ex Honda mechanic. Always owned Honda's, but not any more. The top 2 complaints: Transmission & Paint. The transmissions 1st shift when cold: Shifts late and bangs, but only 1 time per day (the 1st shift only) Also, at 40-50 mph low rpm there's a loud shuttering noise (dealer said it's a known problem with their torque converters, but no snapshot code was detected so it's within specs). And, driving in stop and go traffic. Load clunking noise from the transmission banging in and out of gear (sounds like loud differential backlash). But Honda says it's all within specs because no code was detected!!! The paint! Right away I started noticing the paint chipping really bad on the front end. And then the roof clear coat starting burning through (looks like little white spots that wont clean off). The dealer flat out told me I'm not the only one with this complaint, and that Honda is using very little paint on their vehicles to save costs. I can clearly see the primer through the paint on the pillars when I open the doors in the direct light. Other problems: The navigation locks up. but, if I pull over and restart the car it works fine. The starter started grinding once a month. I replaced it after it started grinding every week. Both outside mirrors vibrate at freeway speeds (I haven't replaced yet). Needless to say...with 70, 000 miles it's up for sale. My last car was a 2007 4dr V6. I sold it with 200k. It had paint problems too, but trans was fine. Even the service advisors will tell you that Honda is living off of its past reputation! I bought as a certified pre-owned with 24k miles. Btw, the trunk gap was way out and the dealer couldn't adjust it to make it even close to normal. Said they would need to heat up the springs so I said pass. Then I found out these cars were build in Mexico! ??? Really

2013 Accord is a Great Buy!
We bought a 2013 Accord about a month ago. After 1600 miles I have found that the gas mileage is phenomenal. I have averaged a high of 41 on the highway. In mixed driving I average 33. The power is as good as you would want. Who needs a 6 cylinder. The car rides firm but is very comfortable. It handles right sporty. I have owned many Honda's and this one is a great car.

good car
I bought our accord about 3 month age after our 2005 honda oddssey was rear ended and totaled we got the accord tor replace the above vech. we have approx 6500 miles on it and love it. it not only gets more mpg around town then on the hwy at its best with the odd. we have been going between modsto ca. and martinez ca. approx. 160-180 roundtrip and getting no less then 33 mpg and up to 36 it not only is very quiet and smooth but we love the cameras it make getting over to the right very nice(I wish they had it on the left also) we just love the carwe paid over 24000 .and I have read where people have had prob. we have not and we are going down south this weekend and look for to the drive.
2013 Honda Accord Sport
I purchased my Honda Accord Sport brand new in October 2013. Since then, my screen/monitor, starter & battery have been replaced under warranty. The screen went out within a few months, the starter went out in July 2015 at about 17,000 miles and my battery's cell went bad this week at 27,000 miles. After being stranded twice by my car, I'm questioning its reliability & wondering what will happen next. I owned a Honda Civic for 10 years & did not have any issues with it. After reading numerous complaints and talking to a Honda salesperson, starter and battery issues are fairly common with newer models. I travel a lot for job purposes, so I must have a car that is reliable. I will be trading my Honda soon.

2.4L Sport
Picked up a 2.4L Sport yesterday. My 6th Honda although I have had many other brands. For once you now get floor mats at n.e.c! No one cries more then Honda when you try to negotiate. Go in and hit them hard and mention you shopped VW. That gets them real active. I got mine for 23,471 with wheel locks. Then they came up with a zero down lease- they pay taxes and tags- great. Car is impressive. Seats now are comfortable and the Sport has the spoiler and dual exhaust and 4 more hp. The engine is smooth as silk. The Insight was coarse compared to this. Finally the road noise is subdued. You do hear a whoosh noise when driving though. I'm getting 34-36 mpg highway. Honda has improved!
