Another perfect Accord
Bought this Accord to replace a BMW 325...really don't miss the BMW. As a former '95 Accord driver, I was wary of the auto shift quality, but the new 5-speed is a huge improvement. 4-cyl power is great, if you think you need a V6, you're probably wrong. (V6 would be nice on long freeway upgrades, that's about it). Handling is decent, definitely not sharp like the BMW, but the tires are made for mileage, not grip. Brakes are so-so, an area Honda could definitely address next time around. Amazing seats, almost as good as Volvos I've ridden in, and that's saying something. Only regret is I wish I'd shelled out for the EX with Leather...this car is actually worth the splurge...
The most reliable vehicle I have ever sat in!
I couldn’t say one bad thing about this vehicle. It’s my first car, we bought it at 114k miles and she’s pushing 221k now! Not one major issue with the vehicle, just routine maintenance and a few inexpensive repairs. It has sat outside it’s entire life and just has few SMALL rust spots around the wheel well. So dependable, i love it!

Middle of the Road Value
The car runs alright overall. Maintenance is medium level. Braking and road noise is fairly high, not something I expected from Honda. Also, either the front or rear brake needs replacement every year. At 71,000 miles, the oxygen sensor failed, costing 300 dollars at the dealership to repair. This seems a common failure in Honda cars.
Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'
I've had 3 trouble-free years with my Accord. Two accidents left me fine, and the car (repaired) is back in perfect condition. I average 32 mpg with mostly freeway driving. Beside the typical maintenance, I've had to do nothing to it. It's roomy with high quality interior materials. In short, I love it. It's not a highly exciting car, but I knew that before I purchased it. I will continue to purchase Hondas.
Happy Owner
This is a very comfortable good running car. I also own a 2007 Honda Accord V6 and this 4 cyl Accord performs equally as well. It's hard to tell them apart.
good ride
We bought this car as a traveling vehicle. It far exceeds the mileage ratings. We get from 30 to over 38 on the highway. We have been diagonally across the US, and back. The power of the four engine is amazing. It is comfortable and quiet on the highway. Incidentally, I don't slow for the hills, and most of our driving is at 75 mph speeds, and in a lot of elevation changes. I like the looks, but admit I like the taillight treatment of the 06 and later Accord. I also love the look of the instrument array.
4 cyl is plenty
The 4 cyl has a surprising amount of power. I came from a 6 cyl Jeep and this car still does not seem sluggish. It is much quicker than any other 4 cyl that I have owned. It is not as fast as the Altima, but gets superior fuel economy. The interior quality is great and the stereo and climate controls are easy to use. Sunroof controls are in an odd place (to the left of the steering wheel, and too low) but it leaves room for a sunglasses holder on the ceiling in front of the sunroof. This car is very roomy in front. Not quite as much room in the back as the Altima, but still good. Head room with the sunroof is still adequate for the tall (6'5") as long as the seat is not raised.
Excellent Car
Love the interior, and the navigation system is worth every penny. Brakes stop me on a dime. The acceleration is a little weak, especially going uphill, on account of the 4 cylinder engine. However, going with the V4 saved me a couple of grand, and more or less is just fine. This car is just really comfortable to drive. When I drove it home from the dealership, I didn't want to stop! Also, the XM radio is built in, which is nice, and the car also has voice command capability, which is fun to use and to show off!
AWESOME CAR!
It is the smoothest ride! We have owned Hondas for years and this year I think they have just put the icing on the cake as far as a luxury car is concerned. The radio even sounds great! i can't wait to get in my car and go somewhere. Sometimes I just get in the car and drive with no destination in mind.
a modest review
A good dependable car. Spacious and performs better than any car that I had driven beforehand. Definitely worth the extra money to jump to a midsize as opposed to a high end Corolla or Civic. fuel efficiency is better than expected. Trunk pass through is disappointing, granted it does serve it's purpose, Honda should have considered putting in a 60/40 split fold down rear seat instead.
THIS ACCORD IS A JOY TO DRIVE
I'VE DRIVEN TRUCKS FOR THE LAST 25 YRS,SO IN RETIRING I WANTED A SMALL RELIABLE CAR AND THIS IS THE ONE TO HAVE . I'M SO SATISFIED WITH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING THAT I PLAN ON KEEPING IT FOR A LONG TIME THE 4 CYLINDER 24 VALVE IMPRESSES ME FOR IT'S PICKUP,QUIETNESS AND SMOOTH AUTOSHIFTING
Love my Honda Accord
Since the purchase of my first Honda Accord, I have thoroughly enjoyed this car. Everything is so well designed and the car is fun to drive. The satellite radio is a wonderful feature. I gave up an old mini van for this car. What a great change. The performance was what caught our eye. We test drove a hybrid and the engine was not as smooth as a six cylinder. So we chose the 6. This car has some get up and go!
What a LetDown
I traded my fifteen year old Acura for the Accord, (because I could not afford a new Acura). What a letdown! My old Acura still rides smoother, accelerates better, and even looks better than my new Accord. Not that the Accord is a piece of junk, but compared to the Acura, fuggetabout it! The noise level is terrible inside. Rain sounds like someone dropping marbles on sheet metal. Other cars' stereos penetrate so loud that I keep checking to see if I fully rolled up the windows. I see on the nameplate that the car is made in Mexico. I wish Honda made it in Japan. I think Honda would not get the reputation it enjoys today if the original cars were made like this one.
nice and economical
Have had the car for about a month now. Seats are comfortable and the dual temp control is a nice feature. XM radio is a great addition. For the difference in price between leather seats or cloth seats, and all the extra goodies you get with leather seats, can't imagine why anyone would get an EX without leather. I get about 29 MPG with 1500 miles on the engine. The car accelerates adequately and is quiet at highway speeds. Suspension is a bit stiff, but is acceptable. This car is very easy to start and shift. Would be a great car to learn stick shift on.
05 Honda accord
I had purchased the 05 Accord Lx because my 96 civic EX was a great car. The car overall is great, but the manufacturer could have made the radio reception better and had a better quality control. For example, the inner roof top needs to be glued and the dash was not seated right. Minor to its overall perfomance and looks. Dealership did not emphasize how the car does not need an oil change until 10,000 miles per normal wear. Instead, they gimmick deals on maintenance for every 3700 and other unnecessary maintenance. As mentioned earlier, I had a car in great shape for over 120,000 with proper maintance.
Great value, great car!
After looking at the 2005 Honda Accord, I checked out the CTS Caddy, the Toyota Camry, Acura TSX and a few others. The Accord gave best bang for the buck! Great car. Got the EX with leather and Nav, and now wouldn't get another car without a Nav system. I love it! Love the voice control, which controls not only nav feature but radio, air conditioning, XM radio, etc. Even tells you the time! Smooth ride, excellent finish, overall just a joy to ride.

Solid vehicle
I bought my Accord new and am still enjoying it. The car has aged gracefully and still looks great with zero mechanical problems. Powerwise, the 240 hp V6 is smooth and strong. Fuel economy is a little disappointing at 19 mpg city, but at least it uses regular. I like the ride just fine, but the handling is a little tepid. I think the biggest problem is the terrible stock tires that are hard as a rock and downright dangerous in the rain. The seats are not the greatest, but not terrible; interior materials are first rate. The 5 spd automatic is superb-- best I have driven. Resale value is phenomenal.
Why my car is car of the year.
Correctly chosen as car of the year. Camry and Legacy are a close second with Nissan barely being bumped to third. The accord wins here based on three item:gas mileage, lower end torque coupled with smooth CVT, intriguing cockpit design/fit'n'finish.
Accordingly boring!
Bought an '05 EX Sedan 4-cylinder w/ auto. Purchased based on reviews this is a "sporty family sedan". It's not. I had buyer's remorse a week after purchase. Nothing makes me want to drive this car...nothing! It's so boring to drive I need to check my pulse to make sure I'm not sleeping. IMO, this is a two-faced car: Extremely reliable, economical to own, attrative to look at. Yet, it's boring to drive, too large, poor driving qualities, horrible brakes, twitchy steering with placid handling, poor paint quality. Appearance doesn't match the drive. This car has no personality. If driving point A to point B is all that matters...buy an Accord. '08 isn't much better, just bigger!
Honda is really over rated
My 2005 Honda Accord DX was a piece of junk. The car is really over rated. First of all the transmission went out at 7000 miles Luckily it was under warranty. Then at 10000 miles a cylinder went out so I was riding around with a 3 cylinder. Then at 11500 miles the A/C went out. I bought this car for my bussiness car because I had read and heard that an Accord was the best car out there so I believed and bought one, but that was a mistake as you have been reading. So at 15,000 miles another cylinder went out and Honda replaced that for me, At 25,000 miles I finally realized this was a mistake and traded the car in on a 05 Mercury Sable
2005 Honda Accord EX-L 4 Cyl.
Great Car. Very Happy with it. My first Accord and would recommend this year and model to anyone.
Honda Shmonda
After all the "Hubbub" and hype, I finally decided to let the economic side of my brain take over when buying my last car. Honda, they all said. Well, it's not all it was cracked up to be. The ride is hard and interior layout is awkward. Radio controls require you to take your eyes off the road and the voice activated feature is cumbersome and the delay is frustrating. The GPS navigation tracks next to the road and even shows the car riding over water. The map has "breadcrumb" dots all over it. Fuel mileage barely makes the 20 mpg advertised on sticker. Service departments in more than one dealership try to find excuses to get out of warranty repairs of which there have been more than afew
Worst Car
2 weeks after I bought the car the tranny started to act up, jerking violently in low gears. Now 12,000, brakes were changed twice, engine is making weard noises as is the rest of the car.

2005 Honda Accord EXL V6
I have only owned and operated this car for a week. My initial reaction is that this is one terrific car. It has the feel of a luxury car. It is solid, smooth, responsive, quiet and exudes quality. It is my second Honda and if the reliability experience with this car is similar to my first Honda, I will be one very satisfied Honda owner.
Never a Honda Again
It must not rain in Japan. Honda routes the air intake toward the bottom of the engine, resulting in sucking in water when driving through a not-that-deep accumulation of water in a road. Cost, $4,000 for a replacement engine. The driver's side window motor failed after four years. Cost, $600. The two oxygen sensors failed after five years. Cost, $500. Now there is a problem with the keyless entry/alarm, which won't lock and arm. All this on a car bought new and currently having 18,000 miles on it and 8,000 miles on the engine. Also, we only get maybe 16 or 17 mpg in town. Should have listened to my wife and bought another Toyota!
Old accord great, New accord even better
Just bought the 2005 accord about 4 months ago. Previously had a 1993 accord that never had any major problems (Typical Honda). The honda is awesome. It has a lot more room and the ride quality is outstanding. Personally i would have perferred the V6, even though 2.4L has plenty of power.
Love my Honda
This car is not only fast, it is classy! The heated seats are great, and the navi system doesn't let me get lost. For me, the navi system was a necessity, not just a luxury. This car is safe...safe...safe!
Honda is not all its cracked up to be
It has a very powerful 240 HP 3.0L v6 but the ride is loud and rough and the EX V6 with Navigation is very Expensive
Best Accord Yet
We went back to a Honda Accord after a few other makes (and one Civic SI) since our '97 Accord. This model is light-years ahead of our last Accord. Very smooth fast acceleration, quite ride. Great highway car. XM radio is terrific and the sound system is good. Would like to have memory seats. The tires need upgrading. Otherwise one terrific automobile.
Great Vehilce
Love the Car!!!!!!!!!!! It has great acceleration and is very fun to drive. This car will easly last you ten years. It is a great family car.
I'm very honest
I've been driving this car for about 1 month now...and so far I've put in almost 800 miles and I've filled the gas tank 5-6 times already .. hmmm...*something is wrong here....Why is the ad gas milage is different than what I'm gettin?? Front bumper is great but the BACK ..argh...c'mon ..Honda could do BETTER !! The style is so ugly..and plus the tail light is awful..=( sorry honda.
Great Car!
I love this car! I wanted a comfortable commuter and looked at the Lexus ES330 and the new Avalon. When I finally chose the Honda I felt like I compromised, but realize I got everything I wanted. The styling is okay, but it is silky smooth and the build quality is exceptional. I almost boght the 4 cyl and am glad I opted for the V6. The power available is terrific and it makes it more fun for me. If waivering between the two, definitely go with the V6. It has made all the difference in my outlook after commuting 1 hr each way into/out of DC. The favorite car to drive in the family - no question (over 05' Highlander limited, 98' Jetta & 93' Toyota p/u)
Battery Died -Towed Twice in One Day
Only have 16,000 on this baby, owned under 3 yrs. and I was shocked when my battery died on a very hot day. My shop says it happens! He also said the breaks are fine, just noisy pads (after 10,000 noticed a slight squeal). Still like the car for what I paid under $18,000 everything included Cash. Nobody is perfect. Must last 10 yrs.
2005 Accord EX - The Perfect Sedan-
There is so much to say about my 2k5 Accord EX-L. The features I love are as follows: XM Satellite Radio, Dual Climate Control, 6-Disc In-Dash CD, Heated Seats, Great Quality Leather and Huge Trunk Space. Gas Milage is damn good at 24mph in the City - This is the mileage stated on the stick and the mileage I have seen. The overall drive and performance is incredible. The drive is as smooth as any luxury car if not better. Overall, this car is a steal at $22,100.00 - Stick is $25,015.00. There is room to negotiate so hit the dealer hard for a good price.
Great car but noisy
Had the car for five months now had no problems so far just an air bag recall... First day i drove it home, had to take the freeway i noticed door wind noise and the suspension a bit springy or tight...After five months still noisy and the suspension bouncy. Other than this car is great. Mileage is good looking at todays gas prices..... Great car just two important negative selling points for my next honda.
Great Car BUT Still Room For Improvement
I wanted more power so I traded my 2003 Accord EX 4 cyl. w/NAV for a 2005 V-6 EX w/NAV and not much has changed. Build quality is great. The V-6 is quieter than the 4. The 6 feels better on the freeway. The V-6 is getting me right at 30mpg on the freeway. I sacrificed about 5 mpg going from the 4cyl. But its worth it to me. I appreciate the Side and Curtain Airbags for 2005, as well as the lighted steering wheel. The 05 NAV added more voice commands than the 2003 NAV. Honda also improved the User Interface and added new features to make already the best NAV on the market even better (Acura/Honda same NAV).
Sophisticated Samurai
Excellent car - superb build quality, equipment levels, and performance. dealer was first rate - received a $2500 discount + an "excellent" Blue Book trade-in on my Passat. Dealer was professional and I felt very satisfied with the experience. Not the prettiest car I've owned, but feel strongly it will be one of the most enjoyable and reliable.
4 cylinder i-vtec Accord (Leather)
After the first 500 miles I noticed a squeak in the dashboard. I'm now at 1500 miles and the noise has ceased for about 450 miles. The only other negative thing with the 4 cylinder is it's slightly (and I mean slightly) rough warming up in the morning. After it's warm though it's silky smooth. There was the Nissan Maximas 6 cylinders tradeoff for the 4 cylinder Accord.(We all know Gas Prices are outrageous). But so far I'm very pleased.
Great Value
We are very satisfied with the styling, practicality and options on this vehicle. We got a good price and a good trade in deal on our 2003 Honda Accord.
honda acord
road noise level to high. suspension does not absorb road variations. Noisey over small bumps and seams in the road. Can not even crack the windows open in the rain without getting water all over the door panel and yourself
Sweet Ride
I have nothing but positive remarks on my purchase of a Honda Accord. Very comfortable, fun to drive, and I'm hooked on the XM radio. A great value for the amount of extra features.
'05 Accord Sedan Graphite Pearl V6 w/Nav
To dramatically improve the front, be sure to add the front under spoiler, fog lights, and half bra. To improve the rear fascia, add the rear deck-lid spoiler--not the raised lit one. To make the inside look even sportier, add the all-aluminum/metal trim. Makes the inside look that murch more classier. This is an awesome improvement from my '02 Accord Sedan...much more quiet and comfortable and smoother to drive. Interior is top notch, except for some little things mentioned below.
Hi performance sleeper
The new body style in 2003 finally allowed me to own one. At 6'4" and 290 lbs i could never fit before. Now i can. I find this car to be a great long distance commuter. I do 90 miles per day and it's combination of performance, ride, and fuel economy never leave me wanting. It could use a little more rubber but other than that hard to complain. Highly recommend!
Great Car!
I recently purchased the Accord V-6 with leather. I love it. It's comfortable, pleanty of room in the back seats. The stereo system is awesome, it handles well & tons of power!!!!! There are so many neat little features to this car, you'll be reading the book alot to find them all. My husband & I actually fight over who's going to drive!!! We researched cars alot & test drove all of them, & this was the BEST car we looked at. I absolutely recommed it.
Outstanding car!
Our 3rd Accord. Can't find a better value for the money. Reliable, economical, spacious, loads of fun to drive. The coupe is a better looking exterior design, but has too many blind spots because of the roof pillars, and of course, the back seat is useless. So, the sedan wins.
3 Years 36K No Problems
Bought our 05 at the end of the model year to get a deal. We're completely happy with it, and have had absolutely no problems. We consistently got 30 mpg city/highway combo, then started getting around 35 mpg once we slowed down on the highway a little. This is a perfect commuter car. Plenty of response and power in traffic. Typical tight Honda feel. No squeaks or rattles ever. This is our 3rd Accord, none ever leaked a drop of oil. Only minor issues are that the seats are a bit firm for long distance driving, the stereo isn't that great, and rear door exit is tight -- have had people hit their heads on the way out.
Reliable and ages well
Bought the 2005 4Dr LX automatic new. My wife used it as a work vehicle for four years and it was bulletproof. Similar to other reviews, the brakes are the Achilles heel, had the rotors resurfaced twice so far. After the 60000 mile service, rear brakes replaced and new pads. Now no problems. Only replaced the battery and have done normal maintenance up to this point (76000 miles). Interior is simple laid out and the seat cloth ages well. Four cylinder has plenty of power and we average about 25mph in mixed driving, 32 on the highway. Very pleased with this car. So pleased that we bought another Honda product, Acura TL used this month.
Better than expected
With a daughter in college, we needed a practical, economical car. Choice came down to the Accord and Mazda 3 (a good car). Decided to spend the extra for the Accord -- good choice! The car is quiet, comfortable, and handles very well. Controls are logical and easy to use. The adjustible steering column makes finding an ideal driving position easy. Knew of Honda's quality, just did not expect this car to be as comfortable as our former 92 Lexus ES 300. Handles much better than the Camry.
