Used 2004 Honda Accord Consumer Reviews
Great car with a few rattles
This is an unbelievable car at this price. That being said it has interior rattels. Most notably from the dash but also the sunroof. As much as I hate to do it, the dashboard rattles have become bad enouth that I'm going to have the dealer take it apart. This may just be new model growing pains and hopefully will be corrected on the 04. This seems to be a common problem on the 03 coupe.
Beats the Camry SE or XLE Hands down
Just bought 2004 EX with side curtain airbags (N/A on the 2003 Accord EX with cloth seats) for $22,999 out the door with all fees included. We also looked at a Camry SE and XLE, Hyundai Sonata. The Camry was closest, the Sonata is just a different class. The extra real life 7-8mpg, the 60% after 5 years resale value of the Honda sealed the deal. If you are looking at a 2003, look carefully at an 04. You get a new model year for a small bump in price and for us, the side curtain airbags (plus regular side airbags) were key. Ride is smooth and a bit more connected to the road than Camry.

Awesome POWER
Great power, but lacks in handling.
Poor Materials and Build Quality
Got 800 miles on it. Been to dealer to correct issues. Interior headliner improperly fit and of inferior material; rattles and squeaks in dashboard corrected at least temporarily. Odd noise in steering on return to center (sounds like a plastic tube is untwisting) yet to be corrected. Build quality far below my previous 5 Hondas, particularly on the interior. Strange exhaust noise that dealer says is not a leak; sure sounds like a leak. Several paint flaws in front bumper -- paint budbble became pock marks. Dealer is being helpful as possible, but problems remain. Not like the Honda quality from days of old.
Traded in my Mercedes
For the last 15 years I have driven Mercedes Benz automobiles. Honestly it was part of my image, I took tremendous pride in the appearance of my vehicle a 500SL convertible which I had paid over 85k. At 46k miles I experienced several mechanical breakdowns so I took it to the dealer without any help: Fustrated I rented a enterprise rental vehicle (a honda Accord) to drive 500miles I was so happy I sold my mercedes and purchased this flawless Accord with Navigation system. I must admit I don't get the thumbs up from passers bye but the overall confidence of this vehicle and predictability factor is worth it!!..
