Used 1993 Honda Accord Coupe Consumer Reviews
My baby since 1995!!!!
I love, Love, LOVE my 1993 Honda Accord EX 2-door coupe! I bought her in 1995, so I am her 2nd owner....but I still consider that I am her only owner. This has been the best and most reliable car I ever owned. She has just over 220,000 miles (200,000 driven by me) and has had only minor repairs over the years. Biggest things were timing belt, radiator, and brakes. Most parts are still the original. I can't say enough about how great this model year was (and still is). Her beauty on the road still holds up among all the "new model" babes out there. People are always commenting to me about how good she looks!

Jakes 1993 Accord EX
I purchased this car new and I am now selling it because my family has out grown the sporty accord. I would tell anyone who is looking for a good dependable sharp car to look for this year model. I have NEVER had a days trouble......I hate I must sell it......
Accord
This is the best car that I have ever owned. I like it so much that I am having a hard time getting rid of it, even though it has now been replaced twice.
Outstanding car
I have had this for the past 13 years, and it had been the most reliable piece of equipment I ever owned. For a 4-cyl, it provides unbelievable acceleration and all the power options have been working well to date.
keeps going and going....
I've had this car for about 4 years now and have had to make no repairs outside of standard maintanence. This honda is by far the most reliable car I've owned. While the ride is reasonably peppy, the styling is pretty sedate and I can't say I find the car particularly exciting. I have no doubt that it will last as long as I want it to though -- great buy and I've never once been sorry for the purchase. --left passenger automatic window sticks a bit but still works. --Some groans and squeaks at cruising speed.
16 Years And Still Going
I figured I wouldn't keep my new Accord for more than 10 years, tops. 16 years later it's still going strong. The only major repairs have been clutch, master & slave brake cylinders, radiator, oil seals and an engine mount. I also had the timing belt and water pump replaced twice but only as preventative measures, not because they failed. Not bad for a 16-year-old car. We kept thinking about trading it in but thought "why?" it's been such a good car. The A/C still blows cool even on the hottest days in Phoenix. It also gets excellent gas millage (30 MPG). New Accord seats are too stiff on long drives so we won't replace with a new one. They don't make them like this anymore.
Legend Coupe 1993 still Excellent 2008
The car accelerate as a dream. Nice sound of the engine. Low consumption compared to power. Easy to handle in dangerous situations. Reaction is fast as your mind.
honda
great dependable fun fuel efficent car.lasts 200,000 plus miles if you do your maintenance on time and keep it done thrughout the life of the car.also dont modify engine for this 200,000 plus mile to happen.most ones i checked at salvage yard had closer to 300,000 miles.this is a good way to do your on evaulation of dependibility.
Best car ever
Bought it in 97 with 40000 miles on it. It now has 271000 and still is going strong. No oil burning just keep up on the maintenance. Four starters, has original alternator and struts. Rear brake shoes have not been replaced yet.
Owned 15 Years and Still Love It
I bought my Accord in 1993 and thought I would keep it 10 years max. Nearly 15 years and over 140K miles later I have no plans on replacing it any time soon. This has been the best vehicle I've ever owned. It's required relatively few repairs although it started to show it's age a few years ago needing new clutch, radiator, etc. But you I would expect to replace that kind of stuff on a car this old. The only problems I've had is with the cruise control that has acted strange from day one. Also the temperature control gets stuck after staying in the same position all summer. Too bad the new Accord's seats are too stiff and uncomfortable or I might have bought another one.
Timing belt problem
My dad gave me his 1993 Accord a year ago - 79,000 miles and well-maintained. It had a new timing belt put in at 40,000 miles as preventative maintenance. My daughter had the car at college where the timing belt just blew at 81,000 miles and as a result, the car now needs $4000 worth of engine work. The car is clean and still relatively low mileage, but this seems to be a serious design flaw -- a (relatively common) breakdown that causes total engine failure.
113,000 and Still Kick'n Butt!!!!!!!
Great car, actually the best I have ever owned. Will never buy a domestic vehicle again. Only general mantinance required. New clutch at 98,000. Good pep with the 5 speed. Still drives very close to when it was new. Mine was made in Japan. Awaiting the new 2003 Coupe, thinking about trading if the price is right. I will not be gouged just because it is a new design. I will be glad to keep this one for an other year or more. Hope the Hondas made here in the USA are as good as my current model.
93 Accord SE
Without a doubt, my '93 Accord SE has been the most reliable car I have ever owned.
Great car
This was the first thing I bought when I finished college. I still have the car today, and it still runs great. You just follow the recommended Honda maintenance scheule, and you get no problems. I've had to replace the battery, a couple of lights, and the muffler. Great car.
A Little Disappointed
Bought this car (my first Honda) used with about 84,000 miles. 2 months later I had to do the head gasket because, followed my the flex pipe on the exhaust. 8 months later and 100,000 miles oil sending unit, oil pan gasket and now my water pump is starting to leak. I also have a front tire shimmy when braking, a transmission mount that needs to be replaced and my clutch shudders in the morning. I bought because of Honda reliablity but know I can honestly say that I'm not so impressed. I've owned Chev, Ford and Chrysler products so far my accord is no better than them. Good thing for high resale value.
Best car
I've had my car for three years. I needed a car that was dependeble which this one was. I'm a single female that dosen't have time to take my car in and out of mechanics. I never once took my car because it gave me problems. I believe that Honda makes awesome cars. I plann to purchase another Honda.
Runs like a clock
This has been the greatest car that I have ever owned! I have owned it for 3.5 years and I have never had to change the breaks (I down shift). It has never left me sit. The only two problems I have had are the power antenna mast, and the drivers side power window gets stuck sometimes. Thats all! No mechanical problems at all. I had to replace the exaust from the cat back, but that will happen with any car. But It's treated me very well.
1993 Honda Accord SE
Love my car. I've never had any problems except with the power windows and the lighter socket.
Good ol' Honda
I bought my Honda used 5 years ago and it still runs great! I have 133,000 miles on it and last year when I got it smogged, the guy said it smogged like a new car. Change that oil every 3,500 and this car will last forever. Just be careful that when you change the timing belt, have those little cheap oil pan seals replaced at the same time or you'll be sorry. Great car.
93HondaLX
It doesn't seem to want to wear out. It maintains its good looks inside and out. It's one of the prettiest Hondas ever made. The mechanics are second to none.
Honda for Life! ! !
Great car to own and drive. My two sister's had one right after college and they are just upgrading to brand new Honda's and love driving them each day. Being a used Honda, I still haven't found a thing I don't like yet. It's better than my Grand Am.
Love my coupe
I've owned Nissans, Toyota, & a Mazda and this car is the only one still standing. I just reached 200,000 miles and I look forward to seeing 300,000.
Why should I buy a new one?
The '93 EX Coupe (6 cyl manual 5 spd) was the closest thing to a new car I've ever owned. It was also by far the hottest, coolest car I've ever owned. I bought it in '95 w/ about 28K miles, it, and at 146K, it's still so amazingly reliable and fuel-effecient that I can't bear parting with it just because I want something modern and stylish with less wear-and-tear.
Love my Honda
My wonderful boss who just bought a new Civic EX coupe was sweet enough to pass on his all stock '93 Accord EX Coupe to me for free when he found out I needed a set of wheels. It had only 82,000 miles at the time and in mint conditon with the exception of a dent in the driver's fender. The rear spoiler and alloy wheels really brings out the sporty look of this car. I get a lot of compliments especially from women where ever i go. I even get people asking me if I want to sell her. This car starts up everytime and runs extremely smooth and tight expecially on the highway. Getting 23/27 mpg avg with A/C on. I will not part with her and plan on driving it for another 200,000 + miles. ;-)
Black Beauty is still the Best Car I ever owned
This has been a wonderful car. I purchased it new but the dealer was driving her. The only time she failed me on the highway, if you can call it that, was with a flat tire at 65 MPH and I never lost control of the car. She is such a sharp looking, reliable, fun -to-drive 5-speed manual car we agonize over selling her. And I never got stuck in the snow even driving home in the blizzard of 1996. She's a Classic Lady.

An excellent first car.
Y'all, this here ride's a hoot to drive! Got cheap parts, easy fixin' with lotsa aftermarket options, sleek design, and that 2.2 engine? A real gem for four cylinders, I tell ya. Just had to swap out the timing belt and the alternator, and now she's running like a charm in 2023!

Still running
Overall good experience with this car I bought it at 50000 miles and i have it now up to 130000. I went through 3 starters hhhmmm oh well still have another problem now but it is ok. This would have cost me more if I had not done all the work myself alot more. Good handeling except for the strut towers going bad mainly the right starts making bed spring noises. another possible thing brakes can go out the bolt that is on the box that has the brake fluid not the one under the hood bolt can come out a bit and the fluid bleeds everywhere then fun bleed the brakes time.
