I have owned 1 Ford Explorer and then 2 Expeditions and decided it was time for a change. My brother owns an 02 Denali and after careful review decided on an 03 Denali. Had a aftermarket DVD player installed for the kids, got the factory installed sunroof, captains chairs with heat, and can't get the wife to give it up so I can drive it! Replaced stock air filter with K & N airfilter and what an improvement in performance.

Bought it new. Been very tough on it, towing several tons through the 120° desert. In 2006 I put almost 50k miles on it. Survived some crashes, which, in a smaller car would have caused some major damage. In 2008 it started running funny, occasionally making some wierd sounds and smoke coming out the tailpipe. After it warmed up it was fine. Just recently, at 150k miles we found the problem. One of the valves is sticking. Also, at 130k miles the radiator and A/C began acting up, and it definitely has a leak. Now it makes terrible noises when the motor is cold, and idles at 500 RPM higher than normal under said condition. I feel it'll seize up in the next 10k miles, it's on it's last leg.

I have had my fair share of suv's in my opinion most of them are terrible. I havve also test driven the one's i have not owned. By far the yukon denali xl is the best overall.. My only concern is falling asleep because this vehicle drives itself. It feels like a $80,000 sedan and it even parallel parks like a cooper.

i had aknok in the engin and sliping in the trans. from day one of buying my 2002 gmc denali xl in july of 2002. the dealer and gmc gave the runaround for monthes untill they admited that there is a problem. they changed the engin for me but the transmission still not fixed. they offerd that they will lubricate the shaft till 60k and that should take care of the problem. gmc and evans way of handelling this problem made me decide to never buy gmc cars ever.all truck 1998-2002 has these problems acoarding to their memos. in the next month if nothing gets done i am trading my denali xl to a ford.

This is a proven package. Good old American V8 power. The leather is much nicer than the Armada's we were looking at, and the Denali is shorter and much nicer to drive.
