I purchased my 2008 Acadia brand new and was very pleased, until the transmission went out, the roof started leaking, head lights malfunctioned, etc. The vehicle is not worth the price you pay, and GM WILL NOT stick behind their product. Every attempt was made to void any warranty work on my transmission, and the process is still continuing today. Rebuilt transmission has been in for 16 months and is failing again. No assistance from GM. I am being told it is my fault the transmission is going out. I have been a proud GM owner as long as I have had cars, but the service and support from GM has changed that. I will never own another GM product.

There are obvious defects with the 2008 Acadia. The steering, transmission and airbag issues need to be corrected by GMC. They need to honor promises of delivering good cars, which they have not done here.

I have owned my 2008 Acadia for going on 1 year. Since December 2007 we have had countless problems with the vehicle. the service stabilitrak and service traction control lights come on every 2 weeks or so. It is July now and this morning the light came on and my car shut off on the highway. The dealership never can figure out what is happening with the vehicle. It has put a "sour taste" in our mouths about the GMC brand. I had 3 young children in my car when this happened. It is in the shop again and hopefully it can be remedied.

What I didn't learn from Consumer Report

Consumer Reports compares this vehicle to others in its medium class and gives the negative review of poor mileage. Really? Even though it has almost twice as much luggage capacity and 23 cu. foot more cargo capacity than the Highlander, more cargo capacity than the Mazda CX-9, Pilot and Taurus and more powerful engine than all except the Mazda, it still gets better mileage than all others named here or in its class. Moving and pulling more for less is a big deal. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is 6400 lbs and it beats its competitors there by 500 lbs. while getting a 16/24 mpg. rating. I love the way it drives and performs. You want to get one of these if you want the most for the miles

I am 31 years old and this is the 3rd straight GM vehicle that I have owned. Bout my first one at 17. The Acadia is known for issues with its transmission, roof leaks, etc. I have to say that I have been 100% satisfied with mine. The only recommendation that I can think of would be to improve the mpg. I currently average about 18 mpg and that is a good combination of highway and city mileage. So that is more like what to expect. BUT! The Acadia is a very spacious family vehicle. So what exactly is everyone on here expecting?? 32mpg? For that, you're in the wrong market of vehicles anyways.
