Used 2022 Ford Ranger Crew Cab Consumer Reviews
Poor Transmission
The electric 10 speed transmission was a deal breaker. It decided when to shift, sometimes from a slow or rolling stop, the transmission would rev up in first, then go to neutral, and finally jump into third. I had two dangerous situations happen when I was entering into traffic. The dealer spent time with the truck, made a repair, recommended by central repair and it didn't repair anything. I've owned a 1988 Ranger XLT and a 2020 XLT V6. I miss both of them. This 2022 Ranger has a very awkward cabin, nothing is easy to reach from the driver's seat. The dealer is a great company, and we worked out an arrangement that I agreed with. After Ford has had such bad troubles with the focus and fiesta transmissions, you would think they would make sure the power train in all their vehicles would be perfect.

Great truck needs refining
Owned my 2022 Ranger XLT for about 4 months, prior to that I had a 2015 F150 Platinum. Love the Ranger, with that said there are a few things that need work. Has a vibration at low speeds on acceleration ( pinion needs shimmed) the hvac fan is so loud on high you cannot almost carry on a conversation, they also need to include the bed bulkhead rail so you can mount a tonneau cover as it is 1” lower than the rest of the bed. Even so its a great little truck, especially with the FX4 package. I’ve gotten comments on how it looks like a mini raptor. Not sure about that, but it does look good.

Ranger Review
Awesome truck overall. Very impressed with the mid size truck. I’ve always had full size. The Lariat package is nice along with 4x4.

22 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 FX4 SPLASH Cyber Orange
I searched and travelled 250 miles to buy my Ranger because stock was so limited in my area and I really wanted a 302A truck and no dealers had them. I initially had ordered a new Bronco and after waiting 10 months and no build date I literally gave up on owning a Bronco. I'm glad I did! My Ranger is a really nicely equipped truck that is quiet, powerful, and gets great mileage. With the 302A package my truck has power heated seats and navigation with Sync 3. I also have the technology package which adds a adaptive cruise and forward and rear cameras. My last truck was a 2004 FORD F-250 Power stroke diesel that was a great truck. It just was too much truck for my needs, and I really didn't want an F-150, it's morphed into a huge truck. The Ranger now in my opinion, is perfect sized for my 6'2" body and long legs. When I ride in my son's 2001 Ranger, I feel squished and cramped. My review, I love the engine and the trans, they work perfect together they always seem to be in sync for great power delivery. One thing should be noted however, in the D position the engine will stay in the highest gear offering it can and can feel a little flat when pushing the accelerator, but the tranny quickly shifts down and the truck moves out when needed. If you like it zippy, just leave your shifter in S or sport, but your mileage will be lower. I average 23.5 to 24 in mixed driving. On a trip I've done as well as 28 mpg, fantastic! The FX4 suspension feels best off road, it compresses easily soaking up the bumps in a controlled and firm manner. The truck shifts easily in and out of 4x4, no hub drama like my old F250. Maybe it's me, but by far this is the quietest truck I've ever owned, no wind noise, period. I also like the controls, touch screen, knobs, and buttons. Very basic, common sense, no star wars. I LIKE the simplicity and simpleness of the interior, to me, it's a plus. If I wanted fancy, I'd buy a Lincoln, grey pebble grained plastic door panels are functional and fine for a Truck. The cloth seats are super comfortable, and the seat heaters will literally BARBECUE your butt on high setting, love it! The nav actually is easy to use, just be sure you've got the exact address and correct town name, and it will get you there. The adaptive cruise, fantastic! I like how you can set your distance from the vehicle ahead and the subtle braking to hold distance, I've never had it before, can't live without it now. My seats and leather wheel with the splash are trimmed with orange contrasting thread on charcoal and really look sharp. On the outside, the cyber Orange paint pops with the black matte wheels, gloss black grill and trim and splash striping. It's a real head turner, I get many compliments on it. I'm so glad I found this truck! I never tire of driving it, it's perfect for me. The Ranger is a great truck that goes unnoticed unless you look for them used where they command nearly new prices a year or two old, go figure? With 0% finance for 5 years this purchase was a no brainer!

Powerful and efficient
Over my past year with the Ford ranger, I found it to be a very pleasing vehicle to drive. It does drive like a truck, but it has never felt unstable or dangerous even during evasive maneuvers. Interior quality is fairly good as far as squeaks and rattles are concerned. Although there is a lot of hard touch plastic it is pretty solid. The technology inside for 2023 is a bit outdated but it’s definitely better than Tacoma. PERFORMANCE: The truck has great power I believe it’s the best performing Midsize pick up. It is more than capable of performing high-speed freeway overtaking. Although the 10 speed automatic transmission can trip over its own feet, sometimes it does a good job at utilizing all of the engines power. EFFICIENCY: I drive a 2022 Ford ranger XLT 2wd and efficiency overall has been very good with an average combined fuel economy of 22.8 combined city and high mileage over 13,000 miles. Although on long highway trips. Going 65 miles an hour you can easily reach 30 miles per gallon. Compared to the Toyota Tacoma. It is extremely efficient.
