This is by far the best car i have ever owned. From day one i was in love with this car and 3 girlfriends later i still own it.The Modular V8 is Fords most reliable motor hands down. The "NEW EDGE" body styling is my favorite of all the Mustangs.I don't drive this car year around but i have owned it for over 2 yrs now and its at 99k with no issues what so ever! Besides normal maint and such..On top of the great vaule and the aftermarket parts are just unlimited so i decided to add some bolt ons JLT CAI,Accufab 75mm TB, Diablo Tune,STEEDA Pulleys,BASSANI O/R X-PIPE,BASSANI SS CAT-BACK,Bullitt 315s with Nitto Drag Radials runs mid 13s all day!Does need a better stock shifter and bigger trunk h/w.

I always wanted a MUSTANG now I have one wow. I enjoy driving my car and I get alot of compliments because of the color and cleanliness. For some odd reasons ricers always want to race and get beat bad. Good driving on the highway gives u that passing speed and to me just all around fun.

It is a great car for your money worth. Bangs for bucks. Sure it doesn't have the power of the Camaro or Trans Am but doesn't cost as much either. And is still the more popular car of the GM brothers. That why it out sells both of them 2-1 and why they were put out of production in 2002. I have had no problems yet this car after 21,000 miles. It sure turns a lot of heads and is asked to be raced at the lights as well. This a great car to drive daily to work & fun. Although the GT is really a bad car in the snow or wet weather so have some kind of back up car for winter.

Outstanding high performance car for the money. Comparing to the other sports cars on the market, everything is either underpowered or overpriced for the product being purchased. The Ford Mustang GT is by far the most bang for the buck. I have been thouroughly impressed with the car!

All of the things that have gone wrong on this car have been because of poor/no maintenance by the previous owner. Had a transmission leak fixed (20 years of neglected service), replaced the radiator (neglected service), and replaced the brake light switch (last owner tried fixing with scotch tape). Ever since fixing those, this car has run great! The 4.6L V8 sounds amazing with the aftermarket cat-back exhaust and it drives very smooth. Great entry level V8 muscle car for younger buyers with lower budgets.

This was my first Ford product. I was lured in by the 0% financing and its great looks. I always drive V-8's and demand rear-wheel drive. The Mustang had everything I was looking for. I did have some fit and finish issues and I wish the interior didn't have so much plastic! I sold it after 2 years due to a job relocation. I was barely able to pay off my lien! The depreciation was unbelievable. I paid $25K new and sold it for $17K two years later! Oh yeah.....dealing with Ford Motor Credit is a nightmare! Buyer beware!

I've had the Mustang for almost 3 years and I have enjoyed it. I have read reviews in consumer magazines that I think are too crtitcal. If you buy a Mustang that is what you are looking for, not a Toyota, BMW or Saab. I haven't been disappointed with its performance. Unfortunately, like so many US manufactured vehicles, I have had mechanical problems in the first 3 years. The engine mounts were lose when I picked it up, the fuel pump died and the battery lost its charge. The problems were covered under the warranty including the tow to the dealership for repairs. It didn't turn out to be that big an problem for me because I have a truck too.

My Mustang GT has been a great car. It has had no significant problems, and performs the way I'd expect for the last of the Pony Cars. It responds very well to aftermarket items like exhaust & suspension upgrades, and you can make the car anything you want, from a mild commuter, to a world-class handling car, to a fire-breathing monster muscle car. It's all up to you.

This is my 3rd mustang. My first with a v8. True to its title as an American muscle car, it lacks the refinement you would find in other types of vehicles. Drafty inside with a lot of interior noise. Choppy ride ... but despite all this it is still my favorite car ever.

I've been driving since Memorial Day and have loved this car. The manual transmission is somewhat knotchy but otherwise alright. I love the exterior and interior styling. This looks a lot like the 69 Mach I my brother had when I was a kid. I think it beats owning the run of the mill cars out there, and sets you apart from the rest of the crowd.

I purchased the car stock. I added a procharger supercharger, saleen body kit, 18x9.5 cobra R rims, Brembo brakes, t56 tranny, mac long tube headers, bassani x pipe, 2 flowmasters 40 series, and Recaro Seats and well this car is getting me 552 @ 5600 hp's wiht 518 rwhp tuned by me with some modifications and I saved about 10,000 dollars buying a cobra. So it's a good deal to buy this Gt because it has a lot of potential.

From the first turn of the key you will love this car. This is a car that will make you excited to drive around for no reason. Interior: Well the interior is average, but well designed. The Leather seats are quite nice and fitting but a little low on support for tall people. The controls are a little too far away from the driver. EXTERIOR: What can i say, if people don't notice your mustang then they are blind or just a jealous and scourned Camaro fan. I have gotten complements from bleeding heart camaro fans on my mustang. OVERALL if you want to have fun driving, love the sound and power of a V8 engine then this is you. Good luck in your Mustang Travels

I have heard a lot of negative things when I first purchased this car, but ALL have proved false. The car has been flawless and I have had nothing but fun with it. I drive VERY hard so the car does get used. Driven in winter also with NO problems due to the new features of traction control and anti lock brakes. I will buy this car again as a newer version.

I bought a roush stage 2 last summer and have loved it ever since. It looks awesome and attracts a lot of attention. It is very fast and very fun to drive. I love how loud it sounds. It is has not had a single problem. The service I got from the dealership both at the time of purchase and when taking it in for an oil change is great. I would recommend this car to anyone who doesn't mind blowing about $35K. It is so worth it though!

Love the RWD and V-8 power. Don't get the V-6. I like the firm leather seats. Headroom is poor, but expected in a Mustang. Averaged 18-20 MPG over last two years on mixed HWY/city use. Good sound system in the GT. No major problems with the car in the first 36K miles other than the CD player jamming discs. Dealer fixed w/ no problems.

Bought her in APR of'02. The stock power grabbed ahold of me and never let go. Didn't lose a race. I have installed started to up grade. K&N FIPK,75mm throttle body/upper plenum, long tube heders with high flow cat's, Flow master cat back,4.10 gears, Hypertech power programmer and Micky Thompsons for the track. This season I have installed a tower strut brace and sub frame braces. For the street I run Good Year 245/45 ZR17 in. tires mounted on Replica BLT 17x9 chrome wheels. I just bought a Gtech performance meter to tell me my actual HP. I've done some paper calcs. and it was above 300 HP, pretty good for just bolt on mods. Not bad since she started at 260. I love her, my wife gets jealous.

The 2001 Ford Mustang is a very fun car to drive. The 3.8L sedan provides a great balance between power and fuel economy. Handling is great, comfort, although tight for large/tall people, is good. Very nice design inside and out. The only complaint is that the interior is a little heavy on the plastic. The inside of the door feels a little "soft" due to the plastic. Overall, however, super car. No regrets with the purchase.

Only probs i had was that when you shift from first to second, there is a loud noise and you can feel the transmission shaking. didn't notice it in a 2002 test drive. also, squeeky noises from the rear suspension. took it into ford but they couldn't find a problem.

I have had my gt for one year and have 20,000 miles. Problems: crossmember and transmission mount loose. Clicking noise when turning right turns from front left wheel. Engine knock noted and last but not least, engine starts and cuts off shortly. To be diagnosed at the dealer for the third time.

I owned a 01 Ford Mustang GT v8 automatic transmission (I know I know, auto trans in a go fast car) this was my first car ever, purchased off my dad, mod out, used for racing with the owners prior to my father, nearly 200K on it, most cars after getting run to hell like that and being messed with so much to draw more power would've been a dumpster fire but not this car. In the 2 years I owned it and drove it daily (even in the IL winters) never had one real problem with it. It still had the power to go fast and it would've went given the chance, it sounded beautiful, it drove very smooth (besides a misalignment issue which would cause some shaking once you hit 70+ but keep in mind this car was hitting 20 years old at the time), gas mileage wasn't great but wasn't terrible getting about 15 mpg in city and 20-25 on interstate but this was mostly due to the work done to create more power not worrying about it as a daily driver, overall I loved this car. I eventually sold it in order to get a more winter reliable car but I sure do miss it.

Mustang GT Impressions

I leased the GT, the ending up with it over a Chevy Z-28 in a decision of economics (The Z-28 was $5K more). Having traded in a 1997 V-6. I had some expectations. I expected the 4.6 litre V8 to perform better than the Chevy V6, but I really had to rev it up because the low-end torque wasn't there, which in turn exposed the laziness of the 4-speed automatic when commanded to downshift (even manually!). Overall, the GT was a good American muscle car, but lacked some of the really hard-core attributes, road-handling felt soft and and sometimes not sure-footed when pressed hard. Casual drivers would get a kick out of it.
