Back in 92 i bought a used 1990 black on black Mustang 5.0 GT from a really small car dealer that specialized in 5.0 mustangs only that was across the street from a huge car auction in Rosemead CA. I gave the owner $500 up front and told him, you find me a black on black 5.0 GT low miles on it in excellent shape and ill buy it! he said OK! and after a couple of candidates i said no to he finally came with one that only had 40k original miles on it totally stock, chrome 5 spoke stock rims, sun roof, fully loaded that had been babied. Perfect. So I had this car dealer drive it to my mechanic for a full diagnostic evaluation and told him if this car gets a clean bill of health? Ill buy it. my mechanic said it was a keeper. So i bought it. $10000 cash. Paid in full. No car payments its all mine. This car was one of THE cars to have at the time. All kind of people would come up to me just to talk to me about it or see if i would sell it where ever i would pull up. It was crazy. The car really was a lot of fun to drive. I would just get in it and hit the road with no place in mind and just have fun when ever i had free time. But then one day i was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic at a stand still on the 405 freeway when this woman in a nissan who wasnt paying attention to the road until it was too late and came tires screeching and rear ended me so hard that she pushed me into the truck in front of me totalling my car. I was fine. But heart broken. So when i got the settlement check from her insurance company for my totalled car. I put all that money right back into the car and had Ford fix it. i was young and stupid and should have never done that, but i did. its at this point when i started getting into cars and high performance. After Ford got the car back on the road i started dumping money into it. Engine, exhaust, suspension etc. making it born again hard! and it was. Not only reliable but very fast! I drove it for many years until i finally crashed it. things in my life had gotten really bad and i got behind the wheel when i was super angry. Was driving way too fast for road conditions and long story short. Uhh, wound up with a double felony hit and run and my car totalled for real this time. i traded the smashed up car for lawyer fees to keep me outta jail. And that was the end of the car. pretty sad really. But this was a great car. I raced anybody and everybody that wanted to go! it did really well against big block chevys off the line! Which would always make them so angry. but at the time, my souped up 302 was just a quicker engine than the 350s and 454s i would encounter racing in the SFV. but anyway, aside from mustangs from this period having poor rear traction in general, these were great cars.

300k '90 Stang

I purchased this car in 11/93 when it only had 35k miles on it. It was well taken care of and most likely driven by a non muscle car enthusiast. That was until I got a hold of it. Now it's 13 years later and less than 3k miles from 300k. Yes! Original 300,000 miles (proof with receipts). There has been NOTHING done to the engine or transmission. The only items replaced was the normal wear and tear items like alternator, brakes, tires, fuel pump, heater core, lock actuators, passenger window motor gear, struts and a recalled ECM. This car has been MORE than what I thought I'd ever get out of a muscle car. It had great acceleration (100k ago) & still rides as smooth as new. A GREAT investment!
