On my second one!

I leased a 2013 Titanium Fusion Energi mostly due to the fuel economy when gas prices were higher. In spite of a large number of recalls and one significant engine failure, I was pleased with the cars performance. The dealership made sure that I always had a loaner and it never cost a cent for repairs. Unfortunately my driving habits often took me outside the 20 mile range, but over the course of 3 years, I averaged about 64 mpg overall - not too bad whatever the fuel cost. I have some very "green minded" children, so the plug in hybrid kept me in their good graces. The only downside for me was the small trunk that would not even hold a set of golf clubs. I got used to using the back seat which is ok when you get used to it. The interior is a bit tight but very comfortable. I do not like the Ford Sync, but I do not use a whole lot of technology while driving anyway. In spite of the few negatives, when my lease came up, I opted for another Fusion Energi, this time a nice metallic white 2016 Energi Luxury SE with most all of the options. I would have bought out the 2013 car, but the residual value was way too high. The new lease has a much better buy out number when the lease expires. Over $10,000 in rebates made the price acceptable so I am very pleased to keep plugging in every time I pull in my driveway. I am a very pleased Energi driver!!

2013 Fusion Energi SE Owner...

As a recent purchaser of this vehicle, I find the Edmunds review spot on. I confess the price difference between the Energi and regular Fusion Hybrid gave me pause, but I went forward with the Energi version for all-electric weekend performance. Thus far it hasn't disappointed. Couple that with the fact that it appears as a normal sedan, and I was sold. My commute in DC Metro is usually a long one, which will inevitably tap the battery after anywhere between 16-20 miles. The economics of gas/electricity vs. price point of this car won't pay for itself against the Fusion Hybrid, but it is a convenience to not have my weekend in-town trips result in a fillup on Monday morning for work.

I'm a car guy. I've owned convertibles, sports cars, 4x4's commuter cars - you name it, I've probably owned it. This car is ridiculous. It's so advanced, so comfortable and so well designed it blows me away. I could gush for hours about how completely enamored I am with it. Ford knocked this one out of the park! We just got back from a three-day trip in the California gold country and without being able to charge up for the entire trip, we still averaged 48 MPG with, shall we say, rather 'spirited' driving through the foothills. The incentives and rebates take a huge bite out of the cost and we haven't visited a gas station in a month and counting. Seriously, buy it.

Best car I have ever had. Way better than my 2016

I bought my 2013 Ford Fusion Energi used with 80,000 miles on it. Too expensive for me new. Bought it in May 2021. Now it is in November and I just bought gas for the 2nd time. I drive 8 miles round trip to work which is why I searched for the plug in hybrid. WARNING! I didn't realize that you should only use Ethanal free gas! (Attracts moisture) Makes sense, don't want water forming in tank. So I drove with gas engine only so I could refill tank. Also, any other vehicle that you have that you don't drive often, you may not want to fill up with ethanol in gas. Also, warning in manual to not let fuel sit in tank for 18 months. So let the gas engine turn on, especially during winter months. Once a week depending on weather conditions. Cuts down on my 187 mpg because I hardly ever was using gas engine. Oh and cost per kilowatt is about $1.98 for every 100 miles. Negative. Placement of the battery. Small trunk. Software voice commands not great, but there might be a software update. I am also saving for a new hybrid battery because I know its time will come. (Check out Bumblebee Batteries. Worked out good for me when I replaced my civic hybrid.) And why why would Ford discontinue the best car I have ever had? Why would they call their new Electric car a Mustang e? Why would they call there new Electric pickup Maverick? My 1970 289 Maverick is offended. = )
