Favorite car I’ve owned
This is my favorite car I’ve ever owned. Past cars were Toyota Avalon, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Honda Accord. Ford really nailed value and quality with this car. The auto-manual transmission is getting a bad reputation in the reviews, and it seems Ford is doing a lot of unnecessary repairs to appease people who don’t understand how the transmission works. Nissan has similar issues with their CVT - people who expect a hydraulic auto transmission are confused by something different. PROS - This car is very comfortable and stylish. Sound system is decent. Great gas mileage. Great acceleration when passing (not taking off though). Great visibility from inside cabin, and blind-spot side-view mirrors were a nice addition. Good handling in corners. Interior quality is excellent. CONS - Despite understanding the auto-manual transmission, it sometimes engages the wrong secondary gear, meaning you have to wait a second or two for it to catch up when you press the accelerator. I wish it had “sport mode” manual selectors. The center console is an absolute mess of unneeded buttons. Why in the world does it have an alpha-numeric keypad? Take out the keypad and make the screen bigger. Screen doesn’t show artist or song name because the screen is too small. No backup camera.

Good on gas but reliability it's not to be expecte
I originally bought this car with 30,000 miles on it. It maintained well for 2 years or so until I started having transmission issues. This was a dress by a Ford recall. However, I have had consistent overheating issues and have been unable to use the air conditioning in the summertime. At times I don't know for sure if this is going to get me from point a to point b. I have spent several thousand dollars trying to repair this car over the course of three years and it has been one thing after another. I would recommend against this vehicle.

I like it!
Ok, I got to the Ford Focus by accident. I originally went to the local dealer to see a Fiesta, but their inventory was nonexistent, then I asked for the Focus and they only had one. Next door was a Honda dealer so we looked at a Civic, Liked it, but they would not do a deal over rims. So I went to Spokane to Wendle Motors after looking at their inventory online. Sent two car that I wanted to look at and they had them all ready for me. Test drove a White focus SE and a Grey Fiesta, loved both chose the Focus. No issues with it, small learning curve with all the controls, handles well and Good gas mileage so far. No issues with trany. I would recommend this car. in is an auto not 5 speed.
haaaaaaaaaaaated it
I drove an automatic 02 focus hb for 10 years and LOVED it. I thought I was upgrading with the 2013. If you are used to a manual transmission this would probably be ok. It has the same shuddery jerky bumpy shift and backwards roll features that are on a standard transmission. I had it under 2 months and bought a different brand. It was that bad.
