I bought this car used in 2014 with 120,000 miles for $4,000 and I am extremely happy with this car. It's a great everyday driver and is impressively sporty. Added a cold air and exhaust as well as cosmetic features. It sounds great compared to most four cylinder vehicles on the road. This car has so much potential. The acceleration is great stock but i believe there's always room for improvement. At 132,000 miles I haven't had a single problem. Comfortable ride, easy to get in and out of, great sound system, and extremely tight steering. Gas mileage could be better with a 6 speed. It's not very common to find this model in the US so she's one of a kind. The 2007 focus ST is worth every penny.

I bought my Focus brand new in 2006 for business usage. I drive an average of 10,000+ miles per month, having the oil change every 3,500 mi. This car has been nothing but reliable for me and my business needs. I have always been able to count on it to get me from coast to coast. Minor wear and tear repairs are to be expected, as with any car. The most costly repair I've had to get was a new fuel pump in the middle of 2010, and of course tires and brakes. Other than that at 315,000+mi it's time to trade it in for a new Focus. Thanks Ford!

Excellent car for the price. Get 32+ mpg in combined city and highway usage. Has a peppy engine but don't like the way the transmission shifts in low gears. Handles well at 70 mph. Interior is well designed but costs were cut in materials used. Audio system is fine. Many switches (e.g., windshield wipers) work in the opposite manner than other cars I drive. Very roomy for a compact.

I am almost convinced I bought the wrong year and maybe should have bought a stick shift. Other people seem to be pleased overall so I guess mine is an unusual case. But the car has lots of plastic. At 40k miles the automatic door lock for the driver's side breaks. Cost to fix? $250. At not even 50k miles the thermostat gives up. The thermostat and housing are one piece. Cost to fix? approx $300 (the part is about $100 and the coolant is replaced). The labor costs more than the part. Now the car has a coolant leak (at 59k miles) and I figure its the water pump. I don't even want to know what that is going to cost. The car is a dog in hot weather with more than one person in it and it slogs along with the AC on. Don't even try to climb hills in hot weather. If 99% of your driving is around town, you don't need or use AC, and you are the only one in the car then its ok. If you want to take friends somewhere that involve climbing hills forget it and have someone else drive. Make sure you have roadside assistance with your insurance because you will need it sooner or later. This car makes me wonder if I just bought a bad year for the Focus because I rented one before and was pleased, but then again those were low mileage cars. If you buy a Focus make sure you thoroughly test drive the car and do some research. Better yet spend the extra money and buy a Japanese car. Chances are you will get 80k miles on the car before you have a problem. The bad thing about newer cars is it is hard to work on them yourself and save the money because they have transverse mounted engines. I used to own a Datsun 510 and I did all the work myself. It was easy. Not anymore.

I bought this car a year ago as a third car for my kids to use for work when they're home from college. I had previously owned a 2001 Focus that I bought new in 2001, which was a loaded model that I was very happy with. This model is a stripper, with tinny doors. The only extras are A/C, CD player, auto trans, and remote trunk release. Despite the fact that I bought this for the kids, I find myself driving it quite a bit. I like the gas mileage and find the power more than adequate, if a bit buzzy. The trunk is huge and the interior is quite roomy for the size. It is a very spartan car, with hard plastics in abundance. I've put 10,000 miles on it and not had a problem.
