Used 2001 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
Great Car
There has been some bad stuff in the press about this car, but don't let that fool you. (Just ask Car and Driver, which the focus has been in the 10 best 4 years in a row) I am amazed at the quality and driving fun this car is for the money. 140k and going strong.
Still debating
When I bought it, it was the best value and the most pleasant car in its class. The problems I have had are minimal, however they are still problems with a car 1 year old. My DPFE sensor on my dash has malfunctioned twice. And I had that same chatter in the back window above 55 mph. Luckily I have not hit the big 36K yet. But when I do these defective pieces may come back to haunt me in the service dept. Other than that the car has been reliable.
170,000 miles on it
Just sold my ZX3 after 7 years, 170,000 miles. Fun, fun car to ride; however, it has truly been unreliable pretty much from day one. Calipers, fuel pump, catalatyic converter, wheel bearings; $500 dollar repairs 5 months in a row; escape a few months and starts all over again; finally sold. When running (second to none) on fun factor but not without cost.
It's a great car!
I love it. The only problem I have had, (a faulty moon roof switch) was fixed by the dealer with no problem. Corners great and is a blast to drive! Two thumbs up!
Best car I've owned yet
After owning a Nissan Sentra (a lemon) this car is a joy to own and drive. Responsive, reliable, and all around, a great car. Tons of storage, lots of get-up-and-go, and a good price all led me to buy the ZX3. I never though I would own a domestic nameplate (I'd always owned Mitsubishi, Honda, or Nissan) but his Ford has changed my way I think about Ford Motor Company.
