I've owned this 2014 FLEX SEL for 2 months and have driven over 2600 miles. It continues to be what I expected, a solid, good handling, reliable vehicle that carries 7 people for short trips or 4 and too much luggage for longer trips. We average over 22 MPG on the road. It's more comfortable, handles better, and carries more than it's GM competitors, Buick Enclave and Chevy Traverse.

I wanted a Flex and my wife talked me into the Explorer after driving the Explorer for 9 months we both agreed we did not like it. Uncomfortable and just not pleased with the vehicle. We went back to the dealer they were able to work a deal to get us out of the Explorer and into the Flex. Could not be happier. I love the way this vehicle rides and handles. We use a car service in Florida for airport transportation and that is what the driver uses which is why I wanted the Flex my wife had a hard time getting over the box look. I have had the vehicle for 2 years still happy with it although I understand that 2016 will be te last year for the vehicle which disappoints me. It is a fund car to drive and I hope to have it for a long time. Still happy and glad to see Ford is bringing out a 2019 model This is my every day car about 8 months of the year I travel between here and a home in Florida where I have a 2014 Escape which I also like very much

This is one of the best cars we've ever owned. I love the drivers cockpit. Very comfortable and gives you a positive, commanding feel as you drive it. Has the basic PRNDL or the Sport Mode of shifting. Sport mode is a blast! This is a beautiful car that handles superbly. Very eye catching appearance. Great sound system with Sirius XM, CD and AM/FM. It has the voice control system. Very handy. Sync system for your mobile device. By a long shot....the most technically advanced vehicle I've ever owned.

Glad it was a lease and not a used purchase

The flex is very practical for a family of five with three of them little boys. It is a good alternative to a van. They had to replace the motherboard in the front computer panel the first 6 months I had it. The entire dash would black out in the middle of the interstate (scary!). We also had to have the back two windows replaced because the engineering of the back lift gate puts too much pressure on the windows resulting in pressure cracks. Now, the back up camera has stopped work and it the screen says "go to dealer for repair". Everything was covered under the warranty, which was a blessing because these issues would add up to pretty significant costs if out of pocket. The heater/air is wonderful. Ford's Sync system is one of the best out there IMO. The acceleration is terrible. You have to really watch before you pull out into traffic or onto the interstate on ramp as there is not initial power to get you going quickly. We believe that the Flex should have a larger engine to accommodate the size and weight of the vehicle. The captain chairs in the back with easy access to the third row was very convenient with pretty good storage space using all three rows.

Flexing

I purchased my flex usec from Carmax. Styling is nice two tone red with black roof. Hate that the interior is two toned dark grey leather with light beige roof. My biggest complaint is the handling on rain. Every time I ran over a puddle its like the water grabs my wheels and jerks the car; I'm afraid I will hydro plane. Hoped purchasing new tires would help, but it didn't and that is the main reason I will be getting a different vehicle. The maintenance costs are high too and it's a gas guzzler. Other than those negatives, it is nice to drive during dry conditions, plenty of room.
