Used 2007 Ford Five Hundred Sedan Consumer Reviews
Touring Car (NOT All Weather Car)
I purchased this 500 because it's AWD...well 2 days after purchase 10" of snow! I was very disappointed in how AWD performed! I've owned 2 other AWD vehicles and they were flawless...in all types of weather,(100% better in the snow.) The 500 slips and slides all over the place!(even with NEW touring tires!)
Great car
Boughtxqr with 210,000 miles on it. Nocgeck engine light on at all. Easy n cheap fix for parts on the car. Great 1st car for my 17yr old. Basic oil change tune up n brakes. Still running 4 months n counting.

fun to drive
The main reason that I purchased the 500 was the driving character of this car. The ride of this car equals that of the more expensive models. The total design of this car inside and out is what people use to expect of Ford. The 500 is a great value.
Warning: for city use only!
When I first drove the 500, it was a pleasant experience. My first impression was that it was a nice, large sedan that handles well, despite the "plain brown wrapper" design. Then I drove back home. I live in a rural area on a dirt road. All the roads in my area are dirt. Dirt turns to mud, and that's when the 500 starts to slip and slide. It is terrifying to drive this car on anything other than smooth, dry pavement. Big problems in the handling. Yikes! Also, my knees bump the dash. I'm short, so by the time the seat is up far enough, there is no leg room left.
Wouldn't Buy One if I were you......
We bought our Ford 500 used at 55,000 miles and have had problems with it ever since. It lopes when you're driving at low speeds (especially when the A/C is on). The transmission shifts hard, slips, and is now making loud "clunking" noises. We were told that this CVT transmission was supposed to shift smoothly like you couldn't even feel it.....yea right.....It might shift a little smoother than a dumptruck. We have an extended warranty, but now we're having trouble even finding anyone who will work on these transmissions in the third-largest city of our state. The rubber around the gear shift is now bunching up making it hard to even put in drive, then it slips out of drive while moving.
