I own a S/D that only has 73000 miles and have had too replace / rebuild tranny twice now. Not super impressed with Ford's poor excuse of a trany behind the best motor Ford produced. I bought and use my truck for towing. If I could do it over again I would seriously consider a different brand.

Traded in an 01' F150 crew cab for this baby and I couldn't be happier! I've been driving Fords for the last 10 years and I actually looked at the Chevy's this time but there was no comparison. F350, 4x4, crew cab, Lariat package, 7.3 lt. deisel...what more could you ask for. I LOVE IT!

Poor reliability

I don’t ask much from a vehicle, but I do want reliability. This F350 has been just as bad as my sons first car a YUGO. I don’t mean to sound off my feed, but I expect better from a new product like this truck than to be left stranded on the road (3 times), all with a load of horses coming back from a event. One transmission latter and two rear ends I am at my wits end. The V10 is not as strong as my other new truck (non Ford, both as a result of the problems with this unit) even though the ratings are about the same. I must however give it to Ford, this Truck rides much better than expected for such a heavy hauler.

Watch out for those 7.3 Powerstroke motors. Damn things have a bad habit of blowing out High Pressure Oil Pump Seals and the fuel delivery system seems to go out if you cross to many railroad tracks. My truck has been in the shop three times in 4 months. One more trip to the shop and I am going to a Chevy. Other than the fact it has left me stuck on the road three times it is a good truck.

Needed a truck to pull a 28' trailer, haul 4 kids, a load of wood and hunting in the Idaho! The 7.3 diesel, 6 speed 4X4 was pretty much trouble free. Took me cross country a couple of times and to Idaho many times! Age and the 6 Spd manual tell me to downsize. Love the truck tho! The Model choices here don't let me say this has a 7.3 Diesel engine! Now at 180,000+ miles and getting ready to sell and downsize!
