My hard working F-250
This is the BEST truck I have ever owned. It has a V-10 that has NEVER left me stranded! I love this truck and hate to get rid of it but it has over 300000 miles!
Biggest truck I'll ever need
I've had this truck for over 3 yrs now and so far the only problems that I've had are a bad COP and I've had to have the 4x4 hubs replaced under warranty. I've heard problems with the tranny and spark plugs but thus far have not had any of those problems.
Terrific Truck
I've had this truck since May of 2001.I've never had any reliability issues and it does any thing I want to do.I pull a 26ft trailer all over the country and the power of the V10 is more than one really needs. The mileage isn't too bad for a truck of this size with a big engine,10mpg city and 16 to 18 on the road.
Awesome Truck!
I really enjoy this truck! I have been a Ford man for a really long time( 6th Ford truck) Interior is really nice, with tan leather, heated seats, lots of storage, and just roomy all around. Bought truck for hauling, and looking good while doing it. It accomplishes both with ease. I am not getting the best gas mileage right now, but i believe the transmission is a little worn out. Expected with a vehicle that has 129,000 miles on it! That is really my only complaint. Rides a lot nicer than i thought, being a vehicle with leaf springs up front. Love it!
Poor transmission
Great looking truck with V10. MPG max 11mpg present with 39k miles 10.3 At 15k transmission had to be rebuilt by Ford. At 36k ignition system had to be replaced. At 39k transmission replaced by Ford with 36k Warranty. Trailers pulled by this truck 0. Good thing I purchased the extended warranty but it has still cost me several hundred dollars and the two transmission repairs took a month each. Wish me luck.
Love my Ford
This is my first BIG truck and I love it. We bought it used with around 70,000 miles on it and after the alternator went out the first week, we have had no problems whatsoever. It is awesome pulling a horse trailer and doesn't get bogged down for much. Love the way it handles and we actually get really good gas mileage, around 19 in town and 25 or better on the highway. It is not a 4x4 and have no aftermarket changes to it. I was raised a Chevy girl, but am so very impressed with my Ford. Maybe there is room out there for both. :o)
My ford's oil deal
This truck as been great to me, I do some minor hauling(Pop-up, landscape trailer)and love the 5 speed. I got the creeper gear. The vehicle is great except for the following. There are minor rattles in the door mechanism for the rear doors, my oil consumption is almost a quart every 3k miles(Every oil change)Other than that, its ok.
Nice Truck
Nice truck that has done what we ask of it. On par for America design & build quality. Towing (7.3L Diesel) we get 10-12 mpg; solo 16-19 mpg. Great traveling tow vehicle. Transmission still weak link if you're going to work the truck hard. Plan on needing additional transcooler.
F250
i love this truck it rides nice and does all my towing of my r-v with out even being slugish i cant say enoughf for the truck . i had a 97 that was a beauti but i like this one better
What a woman thinks of her truck
I LOVE this Truck! It has been a much better experience than the two Toyotas, a Ford F-150 or the two Dodge trucks I've owned. It is a V-10 and I have very few complaints about it. I would recommend this truck to anyone who needs a heavy duty truck. A lot of people ask why I drive such a large truck, and I must reply that I never have to ask anyone to help me move something or go to the dump with yard waste.
2001 F-250 Crew Lariat SB Pwr Stk NICE!
Traded a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Quadbcab Cummins DSL for 2001 F-250 Crew Lariat 7.3 Powerstroke straight up. I am doing less masonry and more white collar stuff. Dodge was dynamic and strong, but loud and awkward for a father with 3 boys. Interior - Going from the Dodge to the Ford was like going from a closet to a living room. The Ford build quality and attention to detail is far superior to the Dodge. The Ford is quieter, more stable and seems better rooted to the road. Its like an SUV on steroids. Exterior - Ford's body lines are cleaner, the hinges tighter and the little things, like a light under the hood and a locking tailgate, are much appreciated. Very glad I made that trade!
Even God Would Have a Powerstroke
I love this truck! I have been on several Colorado and New Mexico Ski trips from Fort Worth, and never had a problem, plenty of top end speed and power. I recently moved to Nashville, Tn and two days after I got here it snowed 8inches. I found out the pure power of the Powerstroke. I hooked up to a Nashville city bus that had wrecked and was accros all the lanes of traffic and was over the curb. I put that bad boy in 4wd low and dropped it into low gear and idled away towing a full size city bus out of the middle of traffic.
Make me proud
My first trip with it was through the Shasta Mountains pulling a 73 Bronco. I literally left the truck on cruise at 65 mph. I found the 1600 mile weekend trip to be very comfortable.
2001 Ford Super Duty 4wd Crew Cab
Overall, this is an excellent vehicle. Fun to drive and pulls great.
It's a pullin machine
I have had this truck for nearly 4 years, and have not had any reliability issues with it. It has pulled our 10,500 pound travel trailer from Georgia to Montana and Wyoming, and to Maine. It has always performed superbly. I get decent fuel mileage when not pulling - usually about 16-17 in town, but I do avoid all the lights. On the highway I have gotten anywhere from 18 to an incredible 27 mpg (that only happened once - usually the upper limit is 22mpg). Pulling the trailer it gets around 12mpg - except on 8% grades, where it drops about 2mpg. I wouldn't buy another one because I don't plan on ever getting rid of this one!

Buy the Dodge or Chevy
At 36,720 miles the transmission gave out leaving me on I-85. Now at 59,014 miles the drivers side front wheel hub is missed up. I call Ford 3-times and finally was told that the repair is not covered under my extended warranty. The service manager at the dealership never called me after FCC said he would. The truck pulled to right from day one and you can't adjust it. My tailgate has alway been hard to open and there is a clunking sound from passenger front that I have never found out what it is. My tires wore out at 30,000 miles and have been rotated every 3,000 miles from day one. Please tell everyone about my experiences.
Super Tough Super Duty
This truck pulls an 11,500 pound trailer - it has pulled it through the Appalachians, the Black Hills, and the Big Horn Mountains without any trouble whatsoever. It exudes power. It has been trouble free for 71,000 miles and has many many more trouble free miles left in it. What a great truck!
V-10 nightmare
Truck is great till the rocker arms all cracked and head was replaced, white paint somethimg wrong it is rusting everywhere!36,000 miles now and getting rid of it.Worst gas miles now than when i got it brand new
Bravo!
Outstanding vehicle in every way. 12-13 mpg city/highway with 6.8L and 3:73 non limited slip rear. Best mileage at 16 mpg empty on open road at 60 mph. Motor has plenty of power and is good choice if diesel is not an option. Motor is strong at 97k, burns 1/3 to 1/2 quart between 4k oil changes. I will look to replace it with similar options. Thanks Ford!
"Ford" The Only Real Truck!
I have the 7.3 PowerStroke. WHAT A POWERHOUSE! I pull a 9000lb. fifth wheel with about 2000 lbs in water, accessories and it doesn't even struggle. I have added an aftermarket air filter and also have a programmer for the computer. I don't need the extra power but when is enough, enough? This truck will light them up on all 4 wheels. 120+ extra hp. I'd like to get a hold of the 08' with the new 6.4L diesel. With 24,000lb. towing capacity you can make every home a mobile home.
Super Duty/Powerstroke review
I have had no trouble in 15 month's and 13,800 miles. The mileage from the powerstroke gets better as more miles are run up. I have been disappointed in the paint on my vehicle. Excellent visibility from the elevated driving position and the headlights. DO NOT buy one without foglights. I cannot say enough about the powerstroke. What a fine piece of engineering. I have put in a K&N filter and will go to a chip in the next few months. I have been getting 18mpg on the road and expect that to keep getting better. Diesel is strong in 4 wheel drive and I have yet to get stuck on my hunting lease. Tires will spin easily even on dry pavement though.
Better than most
I drive it hard and long. It hold up and is always there when i need it! With style! Who could ask for more?
BEWARE
Problems with the tranny, front axle, driveline, alignment. After about 40 days total for repairs and 15 times at the dealer Ford finally bought it back under the lemon law. The dealership continually made excuses! At least Ford stepped up and re-purchased the vehicle.
Great (big) truck
No problems in 34000 miles. One recall for seat belt buckle in the shop for about 30 minutes. 17 miles per gallon with 7.3 diesel. Great view from up there. Lots of respect from the little vehicles. Back seat like a couch for adults and large pets.
Trailer power
This truck packs a punch pulling trailer.
