Used Top Quality Truck
I bought my used 2017 F150 XLT 4X4 with the 5.0 Coyote V8 in September of 2023. It had approximately 90,000 miles on it and the test drive sold me, as it had obviously been well cared for. The interior was pristine and it rode very comfortably. It did have a subtle transmission issue that caused it to randomly feel like I was rolling over a series of small bumps. This ended up being a known issue and my warranty allowed me to get a new (refurbished) transmission installed at no charge to me. Since the new one was installed, it has been flawless. The only other change I made was replacing the factory infotainment center with one that has a much larger screen than the 3.5" factory screen. I keep the truck clean and keep up with all of the recommended maintenance. I have had the truck for a year and a half now, and am very pleased with it. I expect to continue driving it for years to come.

Amazed by the Engine, disappointed by the gearbox
Riding 2017 raptor with 50K mile on it, the gearbox is very jerky, there is some stupid hesitation on low speeds and low throttle. Changing gear over all is not right as is supposed to work, I wish if I can replace my gearbox with a 6 speeds The engine is outrageous, super powerful, and fair fuel consumption. The ride of the raptor is very steady and comfy, good sound proofing.

2017- good but not great.
I recently bought my 2017 F150 in April of 2021 and traded in my precious vehicle for something bigger. Although I love everything about the engine (2.7L EcoBoost), the ride, and the smoothness, I have had one thing that concerned me. Whenever I approach a stop sign, red light, etc. my vehicle lights to “jerk” or “clunk” right before coming to a stop. I can hear it and feel it. Sometimes it is more noticeable and sometimes not as noticeable. I have brought it to dealerships and other shops and no one can replicate the action which is infuriating. I wish i could know what it is. I am hoping it’s not the (6 speed) transmission. It might be the slip yoke but I am not sure. Wish Ford could not have these small problems with their expensive trucks.

Wow! What a Pickup!
Really not a "Ford" person. However, I kept seeing many F-150 pickups at the traffic lights and on the road. Am impressed with the gas mileage (much better than my 2002 Tundra). Lots of power with the 6 cylinder twin turbo. 2.7L, not 3.5 L. Interior is quite comfortable. The audio system is wonderful. Listen to a flash drive of music. Every song sounds great! Have the ruby red color...nice! Truck is a little larger than the old Tundra..but it still fits in the garage. So far, after 3.5 years, no problems. I must mention I have only 12,000 miles on the vehicle

V6 with no turbo is Meh at best
This Super Crew was purchased used from an auto rental company with very few miles on it, less than what would be needed for one oil change in fact. It is an XLT trim, but feels more like an XL with the fabric, plastic-feeling steering wheel and radio/infotainment package. Either Ford is further lowering the base trims, or this was ordered with some really basic stuff. The interior is nicely roomy and this truck has the front bench with fold down center console. The console sits too high and does create a slightly awkward driving position if you want to rest your right elbow on it. However, it is nice to be able to safely fit 6 people in a pinch. The AC is amazing and we love that it decreases its massive airflow speed when you answer a phone call. The HVAC controls are good, we like knobs! The infotainment system is not very intuitive though and pretty rudimentary. We feel like Ford took a step backwards here comparing it to previous gen XLTs. Also, the side view mirrors were a step backwards as well. Despite the lighter aluminum body and 2wd, the naturally aspirated V6 is pretty weak in this truck. We drive it in Sport mode almost always to get a better throttle response. It does get very good fuel economy and has terrific range. In Sport mode we appreciated the altered shift points when driving in hilly or mountainous areas and the transmission will hold gear well in descents; this transmission is definitely an upgrade over previous models. The ride feels light, and perhaps too stiffly sprung, but the steering feel is worse than previous models. The heavier steel body on the previous gen may have actually made this truck ride better, or they need to adjust more for this light body and drivetrain weight. 5.5’ beds are kind of a pain! Almost everything seems to be a few inches too long. Our next pickup will have a 6’ bed. There is very little to go wrong with this vehicle and it has been utterly reliable. As long as you don't overburden it, it still makes for a handy, reliable pick-up, capable of hauling 5 very comfortably and 6 a little less so.
