Used 2016 Ford F-150 Consumer Reviews
Perfect Buy (for me at least)
Although i knew from start i wanted the outgoing model year (2016) F150 Super Crew from the start to take advantadge of better incentives and dealer pricing, it still took me almost a full month to review and decide about features / options and especially interior/ exterior colors and actually locate and negotiate purchase price. That is, once i decided I wanted to buy a new truck. Since it has only been one day since I made the purchase it is not possible to evaluate from long term prospective but I will say that I flew over 500 miles to buy from Mcdavid Ford in Fort Worth Texas and then drove home and that drive convinced me I made the right decision. I will add that I had previously always driven trucks powered by V8's and was nervous when I began to consider a smaller engine but was quite surprised when I first drove one a friend had just bought with a 2.7L Ecoboost which after driving his is ultimately what I wanted and purchased. On my 8 plus hour, drive home I would have never known it was not a V-8 under the hood. Also while I dont always go for all the bells and whistles, I went with the 302A pkg primarily to get heated seats (great for back on long trips) and the backup sensors (which I think ought to be required on every vehicle and most especially on trucks and SUV's due to the obstructed rear view. Camera system great too but that beep system in my opinion is even better) 2 yr update: After 2 yrs I only have appx 20k miles on my truck. No mechanical issues to date. Only disappointment to date is where I have a few scratches on the exterior body that I believe occured while going through car wash. (Makes me wonder if the paint on aluminum body scratches easy).

cold tailgate wont open and sucks on snow
when its cold out until it heats up my tailgate will not open. something is messed up with the lock. The truck in the snow sucks unless its in 4 wheel drive. it slides all over the place in light snow. I had a 2014 fx4 with old body and did just fine. that 1000 pounds makes it suck in the snow for basically 3 miles to gallon better. dont get a ding either. the Aluminum is not as tough as they say. it dents really easily. not impressed. I love ford but may be thinking about a chevy or gmc for my next one. they took away lots of the options for the fx4 as well on 2016. mine now has half the options. just like the folding mirrors. it absoutely sucks going to car wash. I have to get out of the freaking truck and fold mirrors in. Ford has missed the mark on the 2016!!!

Platinum 3.5 twin turbo Supercrew 5.5' 4x4
Amazing truck, went from Silverado LTZ to this truck. Just an absolute dream to drive. Engine is so powerful so far 188 miles on it, and it's a beautiful piece of technology. The Platinum is the most superior of the packages, the limited is for those that use the truck as a luxury sedan, the platinum with the FX4 package is the ultimate luxury 4x4 truck. It's a pleasure to get in it, and drive it. Thanks Ford, for the great deal, and trade in, and one my best vehicle buying experiences in 25 yrs !! UPDATE: 11/2016 3,400 miles now, still an outstanding truck!! (Kenny Ross Ford South, Hint!)

One AWESOME Truck
I traded in my 2013 F-150 xlt for a new 2016 model. Didn't really need a new ruck but they were having such a really good at our local dealer that I just couldn't resist the deal. I've always been a V8 man myself but was told to test drive the new 2.7 Eco boost. I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't drove it. This truck will out run my old v8 5.0. I've only put 200 miles on it so only time will if the engine is as good as the 5.0 in reliability. As for the looks of the truck, all my buddies can't believe how how plush it is. Everyone that rides in it can't believe how it rides and handles. The Chevy guys all say I wish my Chevy rode like this. So for anyone wondering about the 2.7 eco boost just go and test drive you will love it. Even tho the engine isn't broke in yet I have been getting 24 mpg going to work on the Wv mountain roads.

Negatives outweigh positives.
At seven years old, the technology is now obviously somewhat dated by current standards. Towing capacity is limited for a large truck. It won't pull anywhere near 7,000 pounds listed as max capacity. It'll handle a small light boat or trailer fine, nothing more. Gas mileage is approximately 17 mph City, 21 mph Hwy. I didn't require or expect fantastic acceleration but this truck is seriously slow to respond. Automatic transmission is also slow to shift. Shifts into 4WD easily enough but is really clunky to drive in 4WD compared to others. Interior electronics are both limited and lacking. The best positive feature is all aluminum body parts have held up very well. Heat, AC, windows, hood and tailgate also still perform flawlessly; however, others from this time would be more appealing for somebody shopping for a used truck. I traded in a 17 year old Toyota truck for this one. I'll go back to Toyota for my next new purchase.
