This truck far exceeded my expectations. I owned a Honda Ridgeline before this .I use this everyday for my business and find it to be equal in quality to the Honda but larger. My mechanic told me to get the 5.0 because it's very reliable and Strong .I agree on both points. I have had an issue with the door latches not latching in cold weather, I took it in for a recall on the latches . When it gets below 15* or so it won’t latch

2016 10000 off in 2018 -for same car

I would recommend buying a 2017, or 2016...if you can still find a new one or slightly used. The value that can be saved is amazing- 43000 sticker for 31000. That of course is if you can use incentives only and either buy rightout or finance through another way...as usually is one or the other. Even at 1.9% I'll take the 10000 off. I love the car I have the 2.7L v6 w turbo. 0-60 in 6 seconds I disagree with. I know I have easily beaten that. The super crew cab is worth the 1.5 foot bed loss in my opinion. If both you will have a hard time fitting it in any parking spot. I can barely ("2) fit in my full size one car garage. I don't understand the reviews. I literally have slept comfortably in that truck. Hard to say the mpg with AC on in FL. So I agree it is inflated a bit. Will see in the winter how much more we get. Only thing that bothers me is calling an xl with tons of upgrades(sports package+43000 sticker as I said. There are xlts for less. Overall A all around and easily customizable for that turbo sound (and +HP.

I have a 2016 that I purchased in Dec of that year with 9k in incentives. Ford really wants to sell these trucks and it’s worth the effort in finding the dealer wanting to move them aka wanting to let you actually take advantage of the ALL incentives:). Drove every truck on the market in same body style(crew cab) and was extremely surprised to find out at what great driving dynamics Ford had! Best balance of handling, ride and power. The aluminum body does wonders for center of gravity. The v8 loves to rev and has lots of torque. And ohh the deep nice baritone sound!!:) Stock too!! I’ve had it for 24k miles and only issue has been a driver side speaker buzzing issue which Ford offered to replace promptly. Considering price and performance of truck , so far I am very satisfied. I’m avg 18.5 mpg combined and have gotten as high as 24mpg hwy with no head wind on flat straightaway. Impressive for a v8. I’ve never owned a Ford product as their quality always seemed sub par. The last decade, Alan Mullaly and a fortunate/unfortunate recession has forced this American icon to rediscover its pride! I never imagined I would be impressed by a Ford but I’m glad to say I am! And yes It does feel good to see that made in USA sticker every time you get in.

Only issue so far was the battery went bad after 18 months, but the dealership replaced it at no charge. So happy I got the non-ecoboost engine. Everyone I know with the eco-boost engine gets around 15 MPG. I average 21 MPG and the vehicle has plenty of power. Unless you are hauling/towing very heavy loads this engine is great. I installed LED lighting, I wish all vehicles would come with LED lighting as standard equipment. Also replaced sound system with a higher end unit simply because I enjoy a better sound system. Got a great deal with 12K off the vehicle.

Not built Ford tough

The looks of this truck sold me, but I should have done more research before buying. I currently own the 2016 XLT V8 with the 302A luxury package. Initially this truck was everything I wanted. It rides great and has amazing power. However... after about 2 months of ownership I have received two recalls and the interior is starting to show its sign of cheapness. The first recall I received was for the door latches. In the winter, anytime it gets below freezing the door latches will freeze preventing you from either opening the door or closing it. The mechanism seems to collect moisture and does not latch properly when it gets too cold. This has costed me some serious time in the morning trying to figure out how to get to work without working doors. The second recall was for the front seat bolts not being tightened down. This will potentially cause the seats to move during an accident. The worst part about the recalls have the lack of service that Ford provides. In Washington, most dealerships only do recalls on certain days so the wait times for getting this done are nearly a month out and they refuse to work with your schedule or offer a loaner vehicle. It has been frustrating to say the least. Lastly, the center console sliding piece has come off the track and does not close all the way. It’s not a big deal, but for a 40K truck I expected a lot better. Overall I think the truck is fine, but if you’re a going to buy a 2015-2017 F150 make sure there are no recalls!
