Negatives outweigh positives.
At seven years old, the technology is now obviously somewhat dated by current standards. Towing capacity is limited for a large truck. It won't pull anywhere near 7,000 pounds listed as max capacity. It'll handle a small light boat or trailer fine, nothing more. Gas mileage is approximately 17 mph City, 21 mph Hwy. I didn't require or expect fantastic acceleration but this truck is seriously slow to respond. Automatic transmission is also slow to shift. Shifts into 4WD easily enough but is really clunky to drive in 4WD compared to others. Interior electronics are both limited and lacking. The best positive feature is all aluminum body parts have held up very well. Heat, AC, windows, hood and tailgate also still perform flawlessly; however, others from this time would be more appealing for somebody shopping for a used truck. I traded in a 17 year old Toyota truck for this one. I'll go back to Toyota for my next new purchase.

Safety Alert on 2016 Ford F-150 XL Trucks
We purchased our 2016 F-150 at AutoNations of Sanford FL 7 months ago... Our truck has a serious safety design flaw. The rear doors will not latch securely unless you grab the door handle itself and with great force shut the door. Using anywhere on the door panel like when you have items in your hands will result in the door half latching, even the "Door Ajar" light activates on the dash. We identified this at point of sale but were told it was just an adjustment problem and have service look at it. After numerous service appointments and even having a Ford Engineer look at it the problem it has been identified is with the double weather stripping they installed on doors. This does not effect all F-150'S and were told that about 1/3 of AutoNations of Sanford FL sales inventory has same problem. After we exhausted all avenues we received a phone call from a very condescending woman who told us that there was no problem... Ford stand is "just because the doors do not shut like you want them to does not make it a defect". I am sure this will be Ford's stand until bodily harm results because of this problem. Gotta love that new car smell
I'm 66 yrs. old and although my wife of 45 yrs. has had several new vehicles, this would be my first. I've honestly got to say that the amount of enjoyment I've had for these first 3 weeks was almost worth the wait. I can't hardly wait till we start pulling our camp trailer this coming Spring. I'd endorse this truck any day but as I said : I've only had it for 3 weeks so enough out of me

STOUT P/U
I've put 20000 miles on the truck in the last 11 months and it's perfect. The 3.5 Eco is amazing. Tons of power and great MPG. I occasionally tow a 31' 7600 lb travel trailer with no problems. Great. Truck.

Ford has FAILED their customers by ignoring safety
I ordered a custom 2016 F150 Limited in January and it arrived in May. Since then, it has been downhill. Most recently, the brakes completely FAILED at about 3,000 miles. The worst part of this FAILURE is that they, FORD, has known about the defect for YEARS and has FAILED to solve the problem. We aren't talking about a turn signal not working, we are talking about THE PRIMARY SAFETY FEATURE OF EVERY VEHICLE ON EARTH...THE BRAKES!! The recalled hundreds of thousands of 2013, 2014 and 2015 trucks for this problem, but yet it continues....why? Actuaries which do the numbers and it more cost effective for Ford to repair the trucks and settle any litigation that comes from it rather than going back to the vendor and repairing the causal factor for the failures. I will never buy another Ford product in my life and am more than happy to tell everyone I come in contact with about it. We are at 3 weeks in the shop and the dealership still doesn't have the parts to fix it...a master cylinder? Really? Ford Sucks!
