Make sure of your towing capacity. Miles per gallon seem to be a guideline. Actual mileage is far less. disappointing! Make sure you really need a truck of this size for towing/ hauling before you buy. If you can get away with a smaller, more fuel efficient vehicle.... buy it instead.

Expensive Tires

With less than 14000 miles on the vehicle I noticed both front tires were wearing out on the outside edges only. I told them that I wanted the camber checked. I took it to my dealer and the told me that my tires were under inflated. I pointed out that under inflation would wear out both inside and outside edges not just one. They told me that the tire settings were okay and there wasn't a problem. I can't afford to spend nearly $500 every 15000 miles for two new tires. Please be careful when buying this truck because it can get expensive real quick for things that should not wear out quickly.

13 F150 STX 3.7 4x4

Purchased truck new, just traded (9-18) with 96K. Had zero issues! 3.7 had plenty of power. Kept maintenance up. MPG was consistently 17-18, never over that. KBB docked me 1500 on trade-in for having a V-6, which I think is BS. Have hauled and towed stacks of slab wood together with no problem. Really liked the vinyl floor, used with big, deep mats. Just started to get a 4 inch rust bubble on rear bumper that was it. Ohio uses a lot of salt. Truck was ziebarted new, would try line-x next time. Comfortable and drove across country and back. 36 gallon was a big plus. Overall was a great, reliable truck. CONS-Driver door comfort, the rest along the window was two levels. the rear level was very high (im 5'10 and it was almost shoulder high) and always caused my left arm, pinky and ring fingers to go numb. Like hitting your funny bone nerve. Needs to be same as the low level all the way across. Transmission pause. With the new electronic shifting, when you put in reverse or drive, there was always a pause and you could not give it gas. Drove crown vics with overhead lights for 25 years, when the new explorers and taurus were issued the shift pause was worse. Tranny after tranny were destroyed. Rear passengers complained of comfort and limited visibility.

Don't buy the ecoboost

Love the truck but feel misled by the eco boost. The fuel economy with the eco boost is terrible. The truck averages about 12.8 around town with some highway and only 16 on the highway. Hauling a small 5x9 covered trailer the milage dropped to 10mpg. The V8 I had in the last F150 did much better with miles per gallon and without the diesel lag on starts. Think I will be the last Ford!

Not as advertised

I have a 2013 FX4 SuperCrew Ecoboost that was purchased WITH a 6" lift and 35x12.5x20 all terrain tires. Please understand that although I do have frustrations with a lifted truck and will never own one again, that does not affect my review here. As of this moment, the truck has 52,193 miles on it. All light city/highway miles with a couple of light off-road interactions (never had to use 4x4). First and foremost, this truck does NOT get what it's advertised in regards to MPG. I realize my fuel effieceny will be greatly affected by the lift, but I also have friends who own this truck stock and they don't get near what's advertised. So I feel dooped considering that was the reason I went with the Ecoboost. I still tow enough to need some power; this truck has none. I spent >$3,000 on upgrades to make this truck move! Programmer, exhaust, intake, etc. I shouldn't need to spend $50k on a new truck and then another $3k to make it perform... ok ok. Beyond that, I have had nothing but problems albeit small issues. I've had the dash lights stay on and leave me stranded with a dead battery. Sent it to dealership to flash ECU. Didn't work. Had to replace ECU. My module that switches the 2 wheel drive to 4 was stuck in between and grinding making an awful noise. Another dealership trip. The latch on the driver side door malfunctioned, door wouldn't shut. Another trip. Do I need to go on? Just irritating and I don't have time to deal with this petty stuff. I paid a lot of money for a quality truck and didn't feel like I got it. Beneath all of the negativity, I do feel as if the Ford has the best ergonomics. Very comfortable, very luxurious, very spacious rear seating, very modern technology, good looking truck.
