I am the second owner of this truck. So far (158,0000 miles) great 4 wheel drive performance, good power, comfortable. Cloth seats wore out fast. a set of Wet Okole seat covers were in order. The front component of the 4 wheel drive went out because of a poorly designed vacuum part. I was able to fix it all myself in my garage for under $500.00. All in all, this has been a great truck. Update 11/23/17, still running strong, daily driver.

The 2005 FX4 F-150 is the best truck out on the market. The power from the 5.4 triton is amazing and the overall style is great. I have not had any problems with it and i am very happy with my purchase.

2005 STX

Going from my 2002 F150 XL to the 2005 STX felt like a big step up. It feels good to drive: feels heavy, solid and quiet. Handles great in the snow. On the down side, the pickup is not very good with the 4.6 V8; at least not as good as my 02 was with a 5 speed and 4.2 V6.

Its been a good work truck and it still runs strong like the day I bought it in January of 06. Problems: 2 window regulators, spark plugs breaking when being replaced(actually only 1 broke in 2 separate incidences but most places want to charge big money to replace them), had a part in the differential wear out around 100k(cost me $800 to fix). Good: 182k miles and should be able to go over 200k but I have keep up on most of the maintenance pretty good especially the oil changes. Traded Truck in for a new F150 end of 2015. Truck had 225k miles. Not bad overall but I would definitely avoid this truck if your looking at a used one. Go for a newer ecoboost or 5.0 coyote engine version. I've never towed with it and I don't know if I'd buy a similar truck with high miles not knowing the history. Hope this helps someone! Update! Sold this truck in 2015 with about 225,000 miles on it. Funny thing is that some landscaper bought it after I traded it in for a new F150 and I saw it last week. Its still running! lol
