I bought my 2000 F-150 XLT extended cab 4 x 4 in Nov 1999. It has been used for work, play and travel. It goes when other vehicles are setting. It is one of the best vehicles I have ever bought and I buy my fair share. I would recommend this truck to anyone.

This is my 3rd F150. Had an 84 (still running somewhere out there) a 95 and this one. Almost switched to a GM after the 95 but gave Ford another chance. Glad I did. Solid, strong and dependable. Little stuff like rust on the running boards (factory installed) and a minor air leake that comes and goes on a windy day. Aside form that, I tow a boat all summer long, live on a steep gravel hill, take it everywhere and anywhere. Still looks, rides and runs great. (Lariat 4x4 w Triton V8)

The truck has had no quality issues. The steering feel is good. The suspension feel is like the Lightning. Very pleased with my purchase.

I purchased this truck new and started hearing a whine in the rear end at less than 12000 miles. The ford dealer rebuilt the rear end. The whining started again about 20000 miles. Ford has rebuilt the rearend 2 times and replaced it 1 time. The rearend is whining again and I carried it in during warranty and was told that it is normal for this truck. It is now out of warranty and is getting louder and louder. It may be the transmission or something else. I am going to purchase a dodge next week.
