I initially had to bring the car back to the dealer with a couple hundred miles on it to get a new torque converter. I was pretty upset about that, but after that was repaired under warranty the car had been fabulous. The technology is wonderful...so good, that I now mind driving our other cars. Ford nailed it.

I have driven fords my whole life, and will continue to but the 2013 explorer limited has been in and out of the shop since we bought it out of the dealership. Bad cable sunder the drivers foot under carpet. breaks all the time. Drain stays stopped up or comes apart for sun roof. tube comes apart for rear windshield washer. Have replaced Cat converter twice, 5 motor mounts so far and the turbo drinks oil on a trip over 150 miles. to tell the truth, this is the worst car I have ever owned. The four cylinder sux too. The front wheel drive pulls to the right on acceleration and the hood is flaking bad on the front edge and has been from the beginning. Never again!

HORRIBLE SUSPENSION

We leased this truck in 2013 and after our lease ended decided to finance it because we loved it BUT thank GOD we bought the EXTRA warranty to cover the 5 year finance because the SUSPENSION on this model has been HORRIBLE!!!! it has been repaired over 3 times and as I write this is sitting at Bell Ford in Colonia since Thursday! I don't know why this has not been recalled but if it wasn't for the extra coverage we would be out of pocket every time over $3,000!!!! Also, i don't know what happened to Bell Ford but NOW they have horrible customer service and don't have enough staff to assist us! Least to say once problem gets fixed we are going to a NEW dealer and changing this car! We are not about to be stuck paying for this FACTORY error once our coverage is up!

My Hot Rod Sport

I owned this car for just under 6 years. In that time I put 112,000 enjoyable miles on it. The vehicle was fun to drive and a great performer. I enjoyed the performance of the 3,5 twin turbo V6. I often towed a trailer with an ATV which weighed about 2500 lbs total. The Explorer handled it like the trailer wasn't there. My normal MPG was about 18 city, 21 highway. Even when towing the trailer, I got about 16 MPG. I traded it in recently for a new 2018 Ford Explorer Sport. The new vehicle purchase was not related to any issues or problems with the 2013 Sport. The great deal, end of year rebates, and good trade-in offer for the old vehicle convinced me to make the purchase.

The only issue I have is the Third row you can only on get in on the drivers side. Not much room back there. Wish I had mode lighting on this one. Gas is not as good as my Edge but I knew this before I got it.
