Used 2004 Ford Explorer Consumer Reviews
RELIABLILITY TO COUNT ON - AGAIN!
I have owned previous Ford Explorers - and cannot rave about them enough. Never any problems! - I also have a 2003 BMW 745IL & I prefer to drive the Explorer - as it is more comfortable and reliable, at FAR less the cost! Go for it - without any hesitation.
Best Car I have ever Wned
The car has performed without flaw. The V8 makes it really quick for a big SUV. It is my 3rd Explorer. It is clearly the best one.

Great SUV
This is the second Explorer I have owned, the first one being a '96. I love the safety features on my new one, the smooth ride, and the huge cargo area. I appreciate the option of not getting the 3rd row seat as I did not need it and wanted the larger cargo area instead. My husband has hauled his large riding lawn mower in it. I have had numerous comments from friends on the comfortable seats and the quietness of the ride. It has not had any squeaks, rattles, or other problems. We both love it and the older '96 so well, that we decided to keep the older one, too.
Problem vehical that makes me sick
I have a driveline vibration problem since new, this occurs at 30, 50 and 67 - 78 mph. I also have a howling from the rear differential at 67 to 68 mph. My AC Compressor makes a loud shrilling sound when the outside temp is 85 or higher, and wistles also. Seat belt does not retract fully so then it gets jammed in door upon closing, this chips the paint on b pillar, and door at latch side, pissing me off. And most recently, accelerator cable broke and had to have it toed to dealer. Front brake rotors pulsate, had them trued up at dealer but they are still pulsating. I am currently awaiting the outcomes of lemon law proceedings.
Ford Explorer
great truck to have in a crazy climate like here in cleveland, ohio. also a stylish truck that fits in anywhere.
