Great SUV
Bought from old friend with only 88k last Sept and have logged almost 20k in ensuing months. Worst snow in NW Oregon in years and it soldiered through it, 34 miles each way, to work and back. Jeeps and other SUV's were in the ditch and on their sides, me and my Explorer just drove on as though we were inpervious. I'm a big guy, 6'4 215, and I fit perfectly in the car. The leather seats are comfortable enough althought the driver's is starting to sag. All the electrical is fine except the rear wiper which was a problem during the bad weather and the driver's door lock is frozen, but the auto lock still works fine. Paint and overall appearance is very nice still. Grey/ grey leather. Love it!
A Beast!
Bought the car with 141,000 miles on it. now has 161,000 miles. have had no problems at all. does very well in the snow. I would suggest this car for anyone that lives in an area that gets a lot of snow.

Love my Eddie Bauer!
Have owned the vehicle for almost 2.5 yrs and it is as pleasurable to drive today as it was on day one. The V8 engine has plenty of oomph and gas mileage has been better than expected (15 city/18 hwy). The brute force of the engine and luxurious styling and features make the vehicle very versatile. Even though it is 4x2, I have taken it off road in the Arizona desert and it performed fine. So far, have not had any problems except for a minor electrical glitch with the wipers that was promptly fixed. Also, replaced the Firestone tires, even though I really liked them and didn't think it was necessary (dealer really pushed to replace on a maintenance visit).
excellent car !!!!!!!!
the best car i had ever have!!! i love it !!!
Now That the Tire Flap Is Behind Us...
All things considered, Ford did a pretty fair job of making things right during the Tire Crisis with Firestone. We have new tires, and we enjoy our Explorer. It's still a truck, though, no getting around that - just tromp on the gas, and you'll get the point: little acceleration, big noise. Still it's pretty, has a large interior, and our Limited Package is extremely comfortable. It is a great "utility vehicle," and it's good with long hauls.
