This is the second Explorer we have owned. My husband drove his 1991 to over 200,000 miles before it puttered out. My 1995 is at 209,000 and still running strong. Any repairs on this thing have been minor and relatively low cost. I would definitely buy another Explorer.

I love this vehicle. but seem to have a little gremlin in the rlectrical system. Keep having components that will work for a while, then die, only to start working again later. Cannot trace the prob;lem down. A real pain. Fuel cost is on the high side with only abou 16 mp/g on good days. But it's paid for and looks great. 4WD tends to grind a bit and really kills the turn radius. But works like a charm when needed on ice and snow. Center cosnsole is vinyl not leather. Rear bass speaker practically impossible to change. Paint is not holding up to bird droppings. Abysmal acceleration in 6-cyl.

PROBLEMS....

Well I got my 95' in 97' and loved it then. Since then I have had 3 transmissions, 2 thermostats, 2EGR valves and numerous other small repairs. The most irritation thing is the color scheme. Willow Green interior. No other paint job will go with it at all. Lately i got a Flowmaster exhaust cat-back and a K&n air filter and i got back all the power i hve lost over the years from being young and dumb. I think i'm going to hang on to it and do little modifications for a couple more years. oh and the 96' bumperskirt fits perfect for that intergrated fog lights. so my 95 looks like a 96 1/2 and drives like a 99'.

I bought this Explorer in April of 1995 and I ready to sell it now because it is finally showing its age but I got my money's worth out it.
