Used 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT Rwd 4dr Crew Cab (4.0L 6cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Fun SUV/Truck
As a replacement for my extended cab Ranger I've been very pleased so far with my Sport Trac. Inside it's extremely comfortable and outside very functional. It really does offer the best of both worlds with the SUV interior and truck bed. I highly recommend the bed extender though for squeezing out the extra capacity from the bed.
I love this truck - it saved my life
I have very much enjoyed my truck... it has been perfect - fits all of my kid's friends (big back seat) and I can haul things in the bed. It saved my life when an 18 wheeler decided to rear end me and push me into another truck. It has been great with maintenance... I just wish the paint didn't get chipped so easily when other cars bump their doors on my doors. Otherwise it has been perfect!

Nice truck.
Bought the truck in July '04, have 10K miles in 6 months and LOVE it. Needs a little better suspension though. Just a bit shaky for such a well thought out vehicle. Perfect combination of city commuter and country hauler. Much better seating for 4 adults than a cramped car, not huge like an SUV, yet still very sporty. Only 1 problem in 6 months but it was a quick fix for the dealer. Bed extender is a "must have"
a fun little ford
the vehicle is fun to drive. the rubber flooring is a must have. Everything cleans up well and the cooler/console/armrest is very functional. I believe this to be a under rated vehicle that people need to take a second look at.
I LIKE IT!
I had an extended cab Mazda B3000 but the back seat didn't accomodate two kids very well. The Sport Trac is perfect for me. I didn't want to give up my truck but I needed more seating capacity. Now I have both. Unlike some of the competitors, this truck has a REAL back seat. It's actually very comfortable for kids and adults. I regret not getting the fixed center console. The removable nylon bag doesn't do anything for me.
