A little disappointed!

I love my Ford Expedition Max. It handles great and it is fantastic in the snow. I am disappointed in that multiple times I felt my transmission slip and the dealership said it was normal. A slipping transmission in an $80,000 vehicle to me isn't normal. I took my Black Beauty to Transmasters in West Valley City, Utah. The checked out my transmission and transaxle and informed me everything is alright. They informed me that it was the way Ford designed the system. I went back to the Ford dealership in Salt Lake City, Utah and complained again. There was a Service Tech named Doug there and he invited me to my vehicle. He explained what was happening. He told me to drive in Sport mode to alleviate the problem. My Black Beauty is operating more smoothly. The question I have for Ford engineers is how you can design an $80,000 and you can't use the Economy drive mode? I think there will be a large recall for Ford down the road. I pray I am wrong. Commonsense tells me I am right and there are going to be a lot of unsatisfied customers because of this problem.

We were heading to Orlando on our first ever family vacation with our three children in our first brand new car. Driving along on a busy Florida interstate when all of a sudden the transmission slipped out of gear and started making all kinds of very loud metal banging noises then jumped back in gear and then out then in all while cars are are zooming by at 80MPH. My wife was driving at this point and started freaking out crying then my kids crying and luckily it went back in gear and we made it to a dealer a few miles away. Got to that dealer they said they couldn’t look at it for THREE months! Me being a mechanic looked everything over to make sure the fluids were good and all and there was no sign of visual leakage or damage then made the decision to drive home slow and easy 800 MILES! Went to my dealer they looked it over and said nothing was wrong. It shifts hard/weird now and it has the waste gate rattle on both turbos. Had it in the shop for its first service about three weeks ago and they still say there’s nothing wrong.

Hands down, the best SUV I have ever owned. UPDATE: This SUV continues to be the best vehicle I have ever owned. Smooth, powerful, quiet, technology leader, I can't of a single change. We tow a 28' camper and the engine purrs right along, like nothing is behind it. Love it!

10 Speed Transmission is Horrible

We have joined other Ford Expedition owners in a class action lawsuit against this vehicle. I would not recommend this vehicle for anyone. It is an unsafe vehicle. It lunges forward when the transmission is trying to catch up and you must take your foot off of the gas pedal to give it time to catch up. I am sorry but when your in a lane change and you have to decrease the speed you will be hit from behind. There are many other incidents that this has happened to me while driving this piece of Sh____! We have it on video. We have taken it to our Ford dealer and they always tells us they can replicate the problem. That is even with the video in hand. Should anything happen to me or my family cuz I will make them pay. I had to give it a one star cuz I could not leave it alone.

November 2022: 1 1/2 years old and less than 11,000 miles. Windshield wiper fluid empties out within a few months and I keep getting it refilled and I havent even used it (leak???) Check engine light comes on and its the PCM malfunctioning. Corrosion on my intake manifold. Gasket falling out of the driver side door handle. Paint bubbling and peeling off my rooftop. Battery went bad after 1 year. Oh and 2 recalls. The underhood fire recall was a cheap fix and I expect huge problems later on. Do not buy Ford and if you feel compelled to do so do some research on Ford car problems. Ford doesnt seem to care. Waste of money and you will waste a lot of time having it in the shop. At least its under warranty for now. I live in Las Vegas and its always parked in a garage. Cheap quality car for luxury car price. December 2022: Wow. So dissatisfied. The service advisor was actually helpful but what pisses me off is that it wasnt disclosed to me that after my bubbling paint issue was somewhat fixed that the manufacturers warranty is now null and void. Is this some kind of loophole for Ford to be freed from any future liability? Unfortunately, I was forced to have my paint issue fixed by a third party which the Ford dealership contracts with because the dealership doesnt have a body shop for paint jobs. Because of this, I was told after the fact that my roof rail gutters on both sides of my car are no longer covered by Fords bumper to bumper warranty. This is crap! The body shop known as Color Point in Henderson, NV. did crappy work and they didnt even fix the root cause of the paint problem. They literally just touched up like 5 or 6 spots and now the entire area is not warrantied because of this crap job? Absolutely fraudulent. And Color Point added a nice scratch to my door panel. And they left black, sticky goop on my rooftop. And someone actually stole my nice chrome metal valve stem caps and replaced them with cheap, black plastic ones. Are you kidding me? Im fuming. And to add more frustration. I was told the corrosion on the intake manifold cant be explained and the windshield wiper fluid leak cant be located. I was advised to monitor these things. I cant believe the US government bails out crap companies such as Ford. Ford has such fraudulent practices and makes such pieces of crap cars. Why the hell did I buy this car!!! My only revenge is to keep spreading the word on how crappy Ford cars are and how crappy their warranty service is. I do not blame the service advisor at my dealership, I blame Ford. Do not buy Ford. And I will never buy American made ever again. This is why people dont want American made. Holy cow! Another update now it seems my Pre-collision assist feature doesnt work and has never actually worked. Getting it diagnosed in 2 weeks. I really should get a 100% refund for this car!<br> January 2024: This is more than foul! Nobody should have to put up with a POS vehicle that is less than 3 years old and has under 18,000 miles on it. My liftgate struts and rear window struts are weakened. Are you kidding me? I have a 2005 Tahoe and I only changed the struts on those once about 8 years ago. They are still powerful as ever. And the weatherstripping that is on the side just above the running boards is coming off of this crappy 2021 Expedition. Also, I'm still trying to deny it in my head because it's about to explode, but I am having some weird hurky jerky movements when the transmission shifts gears. Speechless...Ford makes me want to vomit. I should have bought a [non-permissible content removed] Tahoe!!! [non-permissible content removed]
