We bought our Edge used with 38,000 miles on it in 2012. It now has 116,600 miles on it, has been cross-country 7 times, up and down mountains, through blinding rain storms, and it has never failed me yet. The only repair we've had to do so far was to replace the windshield washer jets ($20 DIY) and replace the cabin air filter. (When you think the AC isn't working, check the filter.) It's even pulled a fully-loaded 6 x 12 trailer more than 5000 miles with no problem. I won't be replacing it until it just won't run anymore. *Update* We've now had the car 6 years, it's been on another 6,000 mile trip, and we finally had to replace the brake pads (at 147,000 miles). It still runs like a dream. Other than the fact that we are still waiting for the air bags to be available for replacement, I have zero complaints about the Edge. I would buy another one in a heartbeat if we could afford to. New Update: July 2021. We've had our Edge now for 9 years and it has 180,000 miles on it. It still has never been in the shop for anything other than regular maintenance. It still looks almost new. Paint has never faded or chipped, no pieces have fallen off. I will continue to drive it until it dies--or I do.

This Edge is my first cross over. I replaced a Hemi Durango so I was hoping for better fuel milage. So far this thing rocks. plenty of power with great manners, and lots of room for a 6'3 guy. Brakes are a little weak for such a light car.

Styling is great - the interior is well built and simple but classy / refined - no overdone plastic wood - no rattles or excessive wind noises - I have the vista roof - just a great feel and view - it is just like the SRX roof - the Sync system for the phone is a 10 - clear - understands every word - still have not interfaced the ipod yet - I drive a lot 3/4 highway - 22+ MPG - use the overdrive button for getting off the highway - it will downshift - save brakes for the long run - I do 40K a yr - one negative for me is no manual shifting of the automatic. Roof was worth the trade off - so far very quite and firm but car like ride - I test drove them all and when I drove the Edge, SOLD!

If you own any FORD with a 3.5L Duratec engine(2007-2014)......Be AWARE!!!!! Flawed design. This engine is great unless your INTERNAL water pump GOES!!!!!!!! Who puts the water Pump inside the engine????.......FORD DOES!!!!!!! We have a 2009 Ford Edge that we loved......but had no idea coolant was going into the oil system. No leak ever revealed itself outside.....because it leaked inside. I thought it was a thermostat or the water pump but I did not know it had a water pump inside where the timing belt goes. What dumb ass at Ford came up with this brilliant plan........OH one who thought FORD could Bilk it's customers by making them bring it to Ford for the repair because the water pump is now inside the engine instead of safely outside the engine compartment not in with the VVT timing belt area. MORON!!!!!! Temp gauge never flinched until a day before problem was discovered. Going to cost thousands of dollars and that is if it is fixed after repaired due to sludge all within the oiling system all clogged and might not know if it is ever ok from here forward due to a piece of crap design!!!! This was a good car until this design was introduced to me.......WHO puts the water pump Inside the the engine?????? What a money robbing scandal. If you have one......Synthetic oil changes and coolant every 30K!!!!! Heard that from a guy who has two and has original water pump in both with high miles. FORD YOU SHOULD RECALL ALL DURATEC's you know what a FLAWED DESIGN you built!!!
