If you read the various reviews you know this is one of the lowest rated mini Suv's on the market. The top complaints seemed to be about lack of power, poor gas mileage, and suggestion's the car might be better suited for in town driving only. My experience is these reports are totally unfounded. After my first 1,000 miles of driving I never sensed a lack of power in the car under normal driving conditions. The engine and transmission are super smooth even at highway speeds of up to 75mph. No shaking. No vibration. No increase in engine noise. Steering has an excellent feel to it. Inside the cabin, I have read reviews comparing this car to a tall Fiesta. I owned a Fiesta and the Ecosport seems much more roomy inside with plenty of room for my knees on either side. Fuel economy averaged 32.5 in mostly in town driving. This was accomplished by keeping a light foot on the pedal. This car also has a gas saving engine turn off feature that works so seamlessly I hardly notice it is working. I have driven several cars where there was a shuddering once you start moving after a traffic light. This was not the case with the Ecosport. Storage area is another plus. It allows the rear passenger seats to fold completely flat. The one area I was sorely disappointed in was the performance of the premium 10 speaker B&O system. It sounded tinny, and congested and was vastly inferior to the standard system on my Hyundai Elantra. Checking the replacement cost for the individual speakers, I found they averaged about $20 each. In other words, junk. So in order to remedy the poor sound I went to a local auto stereo store and was told that in order to upgrade the amplifier I needed a $500 device in addition to the replacement amp in order to translate the digital signals from the head unit to the new amplifier. This basically makes upgrading the amp non cost effective. The good news is the existing amp can be used to power premium replacement speakers. My choice was the Focal Expert Flax 2 way components for the front. This represented a significant upgrade to the sound of the system. The morale of the story is that if you are considering buying the Titanium for the premium system I would recommend you save your money and get the SE which will allow you to replace the amp and speakers without issue.

Honestly National reviews and some user reviews are way off, read some international reviews I feel they are far more objective and not so biased. Bought SE with 1.0 and honestly it is an enjoyable easy to drive and live with little SUV. Love SYNC 3 and 8 inch touchscreen this interface is the best in the business far superior to Honda, sound system with 7 speakers sound fantastic easy to use system honestly. Love the ambient lighting and moon roof, the bliss system is useful, backup camera is very good as well. Very little body roll in turns, since it is based on Fiesta Chassis this car is fun to drive handling is good. The 1.0 contrary to the whiners is the same in performance to the Honda HRV. Passing power is more than adequate, it's no speed demon but this is not some drag racing car. MPG I get over 30 on highway easily. To placate the whiners Ford should have included the higher tuned version which outputs 140 hp but other reviews far exaggerate the lack of power and I have owned a SS Camaro and I can live fine with this daily commuter.

This is a great little version of an SUV it's a smaller version it's perfect for somebody who doesn't want the big gas guzzlersit's just perfect for young family or someone who just wants a small version of an SUV the only thing that I would see negative is it just needs a little more leg room in the back but who's driving it just for themselves it's perfectI love my Ford escape but I wanted to downsize and this was the perfect version for downsizing to I'm very very happy with it

8 months in, I love this car! I feel it’s “just right.” I really like the Ford Sync3 infotainment system, and that it has Apple CarPlay and I can hook my phone in. Coming from a hybrid wagon, handling and maneuverability was a huge upgrade with this car. (And brakes!!) Back seat isn’t the roomiest, but most of the time for me it isn’t in use. (A senior) I like how it drives, it feels overall smooth, but at highway speeds it’s OK, not super quiet but not too loud, in my opinion. It has the safety features I was looking for, like a CLEAR backup camera I could actually use, parking sensors, and blind spot monitoring. A small negative for me is the cup holder design...it’s two cup holders but really not big enough for two drinks..unless they are really small. Also, this car is not fast, but having a hybrid wagon I’m not used to flooring it anyway. I find it fine for my driving. I like how it’s easy to drive as a whole as well! I do miss the MPG of my old car, but everything else is a big upgrade!

I have a 2019 SE with the SE Convenience Package . This SUV drives great, Very quite even at 80MPH. Just got mine and took it on a 700 mile trip. Averaged 32 Mpg and that was driving between 75-80. I noticed that I'm getting 5 more MPG when using 93 octane. I really like it and hope it will last me at least 2 years. Don't listen to BS reviews until you try it for yourself. Update:. Now at 12000 miles and 7 months in. Still love it. Haven't had any problems. I've been doing the oil changes myself every 3000 miles. Motorcraft full synthetic 5-20 and Motorcraft filters. Still using super unleaded. Averaging 29 Mpg combined city and hwy total over the last 12000 miles. It's still quite and smooth. Heated seats get really hot on high setting. No complaints yet.

I drive home my new 2.0 4 cyl titanium and the professional reviews are wrong, my car has great handling, smooth as butter ride, quiet inside, great pick up, loaded with extras couldnt be happier, traded in my 6 cyl subaru which was a crappy sluggish gas guzzling monster. What an upgrade my new ford ecosport is.

The Perfect SUV For Me

I’ve had my 2019 EcoSport SE for three weeks. I found it on the lot as a demo with 19 miles on it. After owning it for this time, this is what I like about it. The EcoBoost 1.0 liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine moves this subcompact SUV rather well in urban and freeway driving. It’s paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. People seem to read the word “turbocharged” and right away think hard acceleration and everything else that comes with that word. Some people claim 15 mpg combined. I’ve gotten the EPA combined of 28 mpg. This SUV is not a street racer. I like the SYNC 3 with Voice-Activated Navigation that is one of the options that comes with the SE Convenience Package. It’s the easiest telematics and infotainment system in the market in my opinion. This package adds a Blind Spot Warning with Cross Traffic Alert and an 8-inch screen for the SYNC 3 system. The SE model comes with upgraded wheels, a moon roof, electronically controlled AC, and power everything. Of note, is the six-way power drivers seat that allows me to really get comfortable. I’m 5’ 10”. Unique to this model in the subcompact SUV class is a tailgate that swings open to the left. No hatch here! Not a problem for me as some people claim problems opening it when they’re parallel parked. I hardly ever parallel park. What don’t I like about the EcoSport? The lack of a spare tire, not even a compact one. Instead, a tire inflater kit is included, which is of no help if the tire is torn or shredded. More on my EcoSport SE after six months of ownership. UPDATE 1: After six months of ownership, I’ve racked up approximately 4,800 miles. I’m driving less due to the pandemic. Fuel mileage has improved significantly as I’m averaging 33-34 mpg combined. I’m filling up with 89 mid-octane, though premium gasoline is recommended. So far; so good! No mechanical or electronic issues whatsoever. Drivability has also improved, though one needs to keep both hands on the wheel in really strong crosswinds. The 6-speed automatic suits this vehicle best. I’m glad Ford didn’t drop their dual clutch automatic into this vehicle. It’s a subcompact SUV, but spacious enough to fit a full size Cello with the seats down—and then some. I solved the issue of the lack of a compact spare tire (story for another time). I’m still happy with my purchase. UPDATE 2: After a year of ownership, I’ve managed to only rack up a bit over 10,000 miles due to retirement and the pandemic. Everything I mentioned above still stands. I’ve had no mechanical or electronic problems with my EcoSport SE as I’ve kept up with maintenance. I’m now refueling with Regular (87 octane) gasoline. This didn’t affect mileage or performance. Currently, I’m getting 31/33/36 mpg (city/combined/highway). Grabby brakes seem to be the only characteristic I haven’t been able to fully modulate. Then again, I had this minor problem on my 2018 Ford Escape. Though it’s rated as a 5-passenger vehicle, I don’t recommend putting 3 persons in the back seat, unless it’s children. Also, one will struggle a bit installing car seats for babies/toddlers depending on the seat size. Been there; done that! (grandchildren) I’m still happy with my EcoSport SE though. I love the way it handles, especially cornering. This size SUV is perfect for 2 people and the occasional extra 2 passengers. Fuel mileage is excellent, unless one starts street racing. (Save yourself the fuel) I’m planning a long highway trip this coming summer. I’m sure my EcoSport SE will continue to be a joy to drive. UPDATE 3: Currently, I’ve managed to reach 16K miles on my 2019 Ford EcoSport SE and still going strong. Fuel mileage remains at 31/33/36 (city/combined/highway). I’ve had no mechanical issues. The Sync 3 touchscreen had a glitch, which was promptly taken care of at the dealer by reprogramming the system. With time I’ve come to appreciate the electronic AC system, heated front seats, and voice activated navigation. I’m still happy with my EcoSport. UPDATE 4: I’ve had my EcoSport 2 years and racked up 20,000 miles so far. Fuel mileage is still as quoted above. A light foot on the accelerator helps a lot. What I’ve noticed over time is how quiet the engine is. The interior is not invaded much by the engine humming along. Here in South Central Texas, we run the AC ten months of the year. The system is strong and really cools down quickly. I’m still happy with my little SUV. UPDATE 5: Going on three years of ownership next April, I’ve managed to rack close to 25K miles. Gas mileage has remained the same at 31/33/36. The interior is still free of squeaks and rattles. No mechanical, electrical, or electronic problems. Brakes are not as grabby as before. I’ve kept up with maintenance also. I really appreciate the height and size of my EcoSport. I’m still very happy with this subcompact SUV. UPDATE 6: At 3 years and 30,200 miles, my EcoSport SE is still humming along. Everything I’ve mentioned before still holds true. The interior is still free of squeaks and rattles. The electronic AC still provides fast cooling. Fuel mileage is still the same as mentioned above. I plan on keeping my EcoSport longer since reliability has not been an issue. Then again, this little engine has been around since 2012 and the bugs have been fixed throughout the years. It’s too bad the 2022 model year was the last for the EcoSport in the US. In my opinion, Ford could’ve done so much more with this small SUV. UPDATE 7: At 3.5 years with my 2019 EcoSport SE, I’ve put a bit over 34,000 miles on it. I’ve kept up with maintenance and have listened for noises under the hood. I hear the occasional turbo whine when I’m cruising above 80 mph, but it’s not always the case. No problems with electronics, A/C, engine, or transmission. Mileage as mentioned above is still holding. I’ve read about major problems with the oil pump going out on the engine. However, proper maintenance should help avoid that. As to the lack of a compact spare tire, after careful research I found that the compact spare from a 2004 sport version of a Ford Focus works. I found one on eBay for $75 and promptly had the tire replaced. I bought a jack and problem solved. I occasionally fill up with Premium to help the engine. This little SUV is loaded with options and I still love driving it.

We love our little Ecosport SE. I'm a big fellow, & still have enough room. The 1.0L engine is a bit short on hp, but it's okay. Nice features including the blind spot alerts, heated seats, 8 inch touch screen, & we love the SiriusXM.

Regardless of the other reviews,...which were highly negative,...this vehicle's above-average! I have driven a vehicle, all sorts of them, legally, since 1971! You folks that rated this little Ford as bad,...it isn't!!! Yes, it could use some refinement,...what vehicle out there,...couldn't use a tweak, or two, etc.???

We purchased our Eco on 12/14/19. So far we are very impressed with it. Lots of features. Will take some time to learn how to use them. Very comfortable, love the rear view camera & ease of viewing all around the vehicle when driving. UPDATE: Impressed. We have this this since 12/19/2019. And we love it. It is a nice ride & we get good milage. We are a fan of Ford vehicles having owned 4 Fords over the years. Not sure what we will purchase when we decide to trade or EcoSport..
