Used 2000 Ford Contour SVT Consumer Reviews
Happy Trails
I leased my Contour SVT for a 3 year period. I loved the thrill of driving this car so much I had to go back and buy it out. I don't know too many other Low Displacement, All Aluminum, Midsize Domestics under $30K that have as sweet an Exhaust note as this bad-boy does when you open it up. I try not to let it go too often as Tires ain't cheap (Especially in Canadian Funds)
Too Much Fixing
I have had the car for about 3 month now; in those 3 months, I had to fix: window motor ($100), wheel bearing ($60), shifter cable (tree, changed by the dealership), and get a new transmission ($1800), I'ts a VERY fun car to drive, but a lot get broken all the time.

Love that Contour
Always dependable, I drive @100 miles a day and its comfortable & gas efficient. I can sit in the back seat with leg room even with front seat pushed back. And my tall husband (6'5") can fit in it too!.
Euro car feel
Very European feel for an American car. Especially the handling.
Good value for midsize sports sedan
I enjoy driving this car. Excellent smooth performer. Great performance sound. While not super quick off the line it does pull strong across the entire power band and I've had the car at high speeds and it is smooth and tight. I've had to replace the sunroof motor in the short time I've owned it and the gas mileage leaves something to be desired (less then 20 mpg). Little rear leg room for the kids and the interior placement of the cupholders or interior storage isn't that great but hey, this is a driver's car. I have fun with it and it holds its own against other sports sedans like BMWs and you can get it for a fraction of the cost.
