Used 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 Quad Cab Consumer Reviews
2006 Dodge
Have had mine for 4 years now with 49k on odometer. At approx. 15k I had to have air recirculation door replaced (warranty). At 30k I had to have rotors turned and transmission replaced (transmission replaced under warranty). I rarely tow and when I do it is nothing more than an enclosed motorcycle trailer with a Harley. I'm a bit disappointed in reliability. Plenty of power, very quiet and comfortable ride and plenty of room except for rear seat passengers. Avg. fuel economy is between 16 and 17 mpg. -- I expected closer to 20 mpg with the MDS system. I'll keep it as long as it runs but I'll probably go with Ford when the time comes to replace it.
I Converted
I never knew a truck could function so well as a true multi-purpose vehicle. It has excellent styling and build quality, a better ride than my 2002 Accord V6 that I traded in, lots of room, and an outstanding powertrain. Simply a great truck. The fuel consumption stings a little, but it could be worse.

Father and Son's favorite toy
I purchased this 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 Big Horn Edition Quad Cab to replace my 2003 Dodge Dakota Club Cab. I needed the room since I'm 6'4" and 220lbs and I need to put a carseat in it for my son. I love the fact that I don't have to bend down or over to put my son in his chair. My back thanks MOPAR for the truck's ride height. I have the MDS Hemi I average about 22-23 MPG. I put an AEM Brute force intake on it and a Flowmaster Super 40 series muffler on it. Needless to say its the biggest, baddest truck on the block. My son loves it just as much as I do. I feel safe in it no matter what the weather does. I prefer to take it when we go camping or on any long road trip. I love this truck.
Nice Truck
I have a 30 minute drive to work with 10 min. in town, 20 min. on 55 mph sparsely traveled rural roads. At 55- 60, I consistently get around 21 mpg with the Hemi running on 4 cylinders. My pure hwy mpg is even better than that. I chose this truck over a Ford mainly because the rural commute would allow me to benefit from the cylinder deactivation function, which the Ford did not have. In town and freeway mileage is what you'd expect from a full sized truck. I tow an 18 1/2 ft boat with no problems. The TRX4 off-road suspension is a bit stiff on road when light loaded, but I'm overall very happy with it. It's excellent off- road. This is my 1st Dodge truck. No regrets.
Laramie Quad Cab 1500
I'm a Chevy man but when I drove this truck I just had to have it. Fit, finish, performance are all excellent. Only minus is gas mileage.
