I've owned dodge caravans for years. this time so as to totally satisfy myself i test drove the Honda Odyssey and the Toyota and quite frankly it was no contest. nothing beats stow and go, power is about the same. Caravan GT model interior easily beat the honda and the toyota and the new pacifica. also the cost was at least $10000.00 lower than the honda. all these car experts probably get paid by Honda to make the odyssey come across as the second coming. they don't seem to realize that average people by a van because it's a tremendous people hawler and absolutely great if your travelling south and are a golfer. who cares if it doesn't have the absolute latest gimmicks. guess what! 99% of owners never use these useless features that you are charged exorbitant amounts for. most don't even know how to operate them. long live the dodge caravan. i think dodge may want to modify its appearance down the road, but replace it NEVER, that would be a mistake.

The past couple of model years Dodge has been selling the Grand Caravan as a strictly bare-bones alternative to the posh Chrysler Pacifica. There are so few options even available now that even a "top of the line" model feels minimal. You'd be better off getting a 2016 or 2017 GT model, as these still had leather seats, a digital instrument display, power pedal adjustment, parking sensors, blind spot monitors, upgraded sound system, and most other features as options (though I'm not sure about remote start, sunroof, Wi-Fi and Blu-ray-- those might have been only the Town & Country). The 2017 GT from my experience was just fine; the engine is powerful, the seats are comfortable, the styling is good, gas mileage is good if you use Econ mode, and extra features like the fold-flat seats and built-in self-charging flashlight come in handy.

The GT is the way to go. All the bells and whistles at an affordable price. I love the heated seats and steering wheel! The entertainment system is great and the onboard GPS. The fuel economy is not good. We average 19mpg.

Because of the height of the floor the optional running boards are a necessity for easy access to the vehicle. On the GT model the term LEATHER INTERIOR is a misnomer as there is only an 11"X 13" patch of leather on each of the seat backs and cushions, but there is a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, an insignificant amount of leather for the use of the term LEATHER INTERIOR. I chose this vehicle for it's large capacity (can handle 4' X 8' sheets of plywood and versatility (Stow & Go) seating. The accelerator peddle needs to be reprogrammed to a more liner operation as starting from a standstill on a small incline or at the bottom of a hill the vehicle lurches forward making it difficult to accelerate slowly and is particularly noticeable when attempting to enter my garage with an inclined driveway. There is a problem with the drivers seat, the PLASTIC on the seat cushion has split, though the fabric backing is still intact and the seat is holding together though there is 110,678 KM on the vehicle.

Purchased my '17 Grand Caravan GT over 2 years ago for 30% off and have been happy with it ever since. I have racked up 49,000 kms with zero issues. Fuel economy is outstanding as I average 7.5L/100 km(31 mpg I think) on the highway during the trips to the cottage in the summer months(as long as I watch my rpms) The kids really enjoy the DVD player as well as the power doors. With dedicated winter tires, the van is a beast in the snow, thought fuel mileage suffers a little bit, which is of course expected. Other than that I've got no complaints....
