Nice Van

This is a nice van and is our second Grand Caravan. We bought the Special Edition with a few extras and it has proven to be better than the '02 we had. I have not yet put out on an extended trip, but in town it is getting 18 mpg, which is what I was getting the our '02 on the highway at about 85mph. We just bought a new house and the Stow-n-Go seats came in real handy making several trips and not having to move those heavy seats. The power doors and rear hatch are a nice options to have. I have not even noticed the decrease in horsepower, and the engine sounds stronger. For the money you cant beat this van with features that cost and arm and leg from Honda and Toyota.

This is our 2nd Grand Caravan and we are loving it, especially the Sirius radio and navigation. Everything about this car is great. The Special Edition is awesome. Comfortable, great performance, luxurious and quiet ride. Stow and Go seats are a plus. We almost bought the Nissan and are glad we didn't. The seats are completely hidden. No more pulling them out and storing. Highly recommended. Has less air bags offered, but we don't have kids, so that was a non issue. Great value, price was right for the value.

This van has been in the shop EIGHT times since we bought it. They have done 2 alignments, replaced defective tires, and it still pulls to the right. (not to mention the right front tire is worn out, again)Now the Dealer and Dodge are saying that this is normal. There were 2 interior body panels that warped so bad they had to be replaced. (left front A pillar, and the Right rear) HMMM. Not to mention that the lack of adjustment to the front seats, leaves my wifes legs sore. It still needs to go in again. All that said, I will never buy another Dodge product. This is going up for sale very soon.

I reviewed this last Nov. after purchasing in Sept. 04. We now have 13K miles and have been on several trips. This van has yet to visit the dealership. The 6-disk dvd changer is a god-send for the two kids while traveling. After several hours of riding, I do get a little uncomfortable. So, the leather seats do get hard on the rear and back after 4-5 hours. Everything is still working as expected. So far, I would not change a thing, except for seat comfort. Mileage average is 19.

More comfortable than other minivans, roomier. Powerful 218 engine reacts quickly. Great for hauling smal loads and plywood w/ fold-down-seats. Adjustable roof rack very handy for ladders, trunks and the like. Full control for normal city driving.

We previously owned a 1995 Grand Caravan and because of the great reliability we had and the comfortable drive it provided we decided to stay with this for our next van. We love the features included on the SXT and find Stow and Go indespensible already.

The Grand Caravan SXT is a quality van from the beginning . The moment you open the door to enter until you close the door to exit. Truly a joy to drive, almost too comfortable, almost... Thank you Dodge for another quality vehicle.

This is a great vehicle. It's got a 3.8L and it's powerful. Drives like a car, unlike my 96 Ford Aerostar. The stow-n-go seats are so easy to use and so versatile. The kiddos love the DVD and I do, too, as long as it's not Son of the Mask playing. We took it on a trip from Phoenix to Yellowstone one month after buying and it did great. Very comfy. Got 23 mpg on the trip, but only get 19 mpg normally. The rear air is a godsend here in Phoenix.

I love being able to get in, turn the key, & go! If I do run into any problems, a phone call to the dealer takes care of it. If I have a problem on tne road, a call for Chysler Roadside Assistance gets me help in a very short time. And repairs take very little time at all. It does make the drive into Seattle very easy, and one I would not even contemplate without my Grand Caravan.

Driving the Grand Caravan is great, but the traction of the minivan is not that good. Owning is great. The stow n go seating is very helpful. We moved 3 times and the stow n go seating helped a lot. Also, when we take trips we have a lot of space to accomodate a lot of our things. We even have left over space! The 2nd and 3rd row seats aren't that comfortable for adults, but if children are stitting they shouldn't complain.

We have two sets of twins and the stow and go and power doors have been wonderful for us. However it is a necessity in our lives for reliability. Recently the van has been making noises and we decided to use our $3,000 extendend warranty and found that it has a $100.00 deductible each time you use it. It would have been nice to know that beforehand, and with all the noices it is making I am a little worried that the steering is going out. My friend has a Kia Sedona and loves it and it has lasted a long time with no repair needed, probably a better fit than the Dodge. I guess the old saying you get what you pay for rings true here.

The visible parts of the car are great. The body is good, the interior fit and finish is good, the "Stow 'n Go" is great, the engine is plenty powerful. I like the car for its features. Mechanically, I am extremely disappointed. There is a constant rubbing sound coming out of the front- left upper strut mount over even little bumps, the engine uses about 3.5 quarts of oil between oil changes (3000 miles), the transmission clunks (and the car jumps) when down-shifting when you take your foot off the gas. I have reported these issues numerous times, but the "factory rep" keeps telling me that they are within design specs and won't fix it. Give me a break! No more Dodges for me!

Many, many, many little problems. Automatic doors not working, burnt out taillight, automatic doorlocks not working, stuck headrest, brakes had to be replaced at 17,000 miles, random noises, AC blower not working, driver side electric window not working. We had a '96 before, drove the wheels off of it and had no problems. Someone at the factory must have been drunk when this lemon rolled out the door.

Electrical problems has caused this car to be in the dealers garage 10 or 12 times since purchase. Most common is right rear wheel ABS speed sensor which has been replaced 3 times. Several other 'check engine' have resulted in computer program upgrades. We like the car but do not feel it is reliable.

The interior trim in the Grand Caravan is cheap, cheap, cheap. Had the vehicle for 2 years and all the plastic parts for the back seats have cracked off. One of the cup holders is also broken. The plastic does not hold up. The rest of the vehicle is great but this trim destroys the vehicle and will keep me from buying a new one.

Have had the van about 2 years. Bought it because of the Stow and Go and large rebate. Was much better value, feature for feature, than any of the imports. Have been very happy with the vehicle. It has only been to the dealership twice in 2 years. Once was for 2 minor recalls and the other was to replace the power liftgate motor. We love the Stow and Go, the power, quiet and comfort. The power doors and liftgate were a godsend to my wife when she was pregnant and carrying around a toddler. My only complaints are minor and include excessive brake dust and inconvenient parking brake release. Gas mileage is fair around town (17-18) and decent on the highway (24-25).

I bought a lease return with 22,000 miles on it. It drives and looks like a new vehicle. I had some concerns about gas mileage, but I get about 18 in town and almost 25 on the highway and that's with the 3.8L. It has plenty of power for almost every situation. The handling has been very good on both dry and wet roads. I haven't driven it in the snow yet. The interior, gauges, and controls seem well thought out. The Stow-n-Go seating is miles above my old Aerostar's with it's 80 lb seats. This has the premium sound system and it's as good as my home stereo. I researched this vehicle before buying it and it has had no problems. I'm quite impressed so far.

Please take my word for it, DO NOT BUY A DODGE CARAVAN, OR DODGE GRAND CARAVAN! We had nothing but trouble since day one. Electrical, transmission, motor, and steering linkage problems!!! Thank God for warranties. The transmission started shifting extremely hard, the motor started running very rough (the dealership even had trouble figuring out what the problem was), electric windows stopped working, electric door locks stopped working, and they had to replace the steering linkage. It only had 35,000 miles on it, and it was a 2005. We sold this junk, and bought a Chevy Suburban. I'll gladly pay a little extra for gas, and have something reliable for a change.!!!

Purchased fully loaded Special Edition new for almost 1/2 price of similar Honda/Toyota vans. Test drove all 3 makes & noted better handling, quieter ride on H & T but frankly for $20K less with a car load of kids you really don't notice or care. Got & recommend the Chrysler extended warranty with $0 deductible and free minivan rental(beginning day 1). We've had warranty work done (rack & pinion; frozen caliper; sliding door wiring and tire pressure sensors replaced) but the extended warranty made these experiences painless. Experts pooh-pooh this van. But push for a great price, protect yourself with the extended warranty you'll get a great family van with low total cost of ownership.

I've owned this van for 39 months now and the only problem I have had with it is an occasional sticking rear electric hatch. Some times latch doesn't want to release. Waiting for it to do it more often before I take it in to be fixed. Outside of that, I have had no problems at all with it. I bought it mostly because of the stow-n-go seating as I carry a lot of stuff. They are great along with those deep storage bins. The van is very quiet and the ride is smooth. The A/C is a strong feature here in hot Arizona. Cools the van right down. My only wish is that the power steering gave me a little more road feel. It's a little to touchy and I have to watch I don't ease over in the other lane.

Has had steering problems a couple times already with a terrible grinding noise. Cheaply made interior, covers break easily. Was told that middle and back seats were interchangeable when buying van, but they aren't. Found this out only after lugging out heavy the back seat. No stow-n-go with this van makes it even more of a hassle. Terrible pick up, feels like a truck, can't afford to put gas in it. This van burns gas horribly. I went 30 city miles and it burned a half tank of gas! If I didn't owe so much in this piece of junk I'd be trading it in. I'm actively still trying to trade it in somewhere. Buyer beware! Don't buy a Grand Caravan!

A very versatile, comfortable to drive car. My second car is a BMW 330i. We use the Van far more. More comfortable to drive, more convenient. Reliability has been good through 38,000 miles, but I guess we will see. For a person with a family, this is a nice vehicle. Plenty of power, quiet ands smooth, good visibility, controls well placed. The stow and go seating is great and the electric doors as well.

Was my first car to mainly drive, started at about 305,000 miles, it was my mom's. For at least 10 years, I got it at 16. We used it like a truck, hauling branches, you can take the middle seat easily out. Going up to college I accidentally left that seat, so I decided to get a couch in the back. I've maybe driven it to 115 mph and have thrown it around on dirt roads. The problems I've experienced with it was, power steering leak, some part of air blower not working, rust, mirror plug/cap falling off so I zipped tied them down, and later on engine knocking. It happened at 315,000 miles, I did have low oil before but filled it right before it happened, so maybe it was over filled, I don't know. Great car for a high schooler. Idk if it was CV or SE type.

This van is the small one. Lack of storage and console, no grab bar for front passengers. Inadequate air conditioning for Florida and for passengers beyond the front seats. It has an uncomfortable front passenger seat with limited adjustment. The second seat cupholders are poorly designed and placed. So far only 13.1 miles per gallon city, the same as my previous SUV V-8 which had all the amenities. For the high cost, this vehicle appears stripped and is not a good value. I'm so disappointed with vehicle, I plan on trading with my son for his older SUV.

Purchased this van Dec. 2005. It was part of a previous rental fleet and had 29000 miles. We used it has a family vehicle and had it 4 years. It was great until we turned 50K. After that, all down hill. Rack and pinion had to be replaced, electrical problems, tie rod ends, burning oil, and the end-all the transmission started slipping. Went to the nearest dealer and traded. The vechicle was well maintained for the time we owned it. It's too bad that Chrysler can't put some reliability into the country's "best selling van."

The most trouble i've had with this vehicle is with the reliability of it. I've been to the service department about 4 times because suddenly the front suspension made an ugly deep, vibrating noise when the steering wheel was turned left or right. They somewhat improved the problem, but it still makes that noise every now and then. The transaxle makes a high pitched noise that sounds like a cricket chirping, and i was told that there was nothing that could be done about it. Other than that, I think that this a good buy for the price.

I love this car i ahve two grand children and i live with them. We have two dogsa and i hated that hard to get out secong and third row seat. now i can take the dogs to the doctors with ease. I love the stow and go feature it is the greatest. I like the way it handels and how much storage space u have on the inside. i looked at the odyseey and freestar and the quest the quest was winning because of the second row fold away system but when i saw the comercial i went to the dealer and loved it. on christmas eve this will come in handy for looking at christmas lites altogether in something smaller then my daughters suburban.
