Kids Love the Rear Seat Video!

Dodge continues their excellence with the 2005 Grand Caravan. It's a joy to drive this vehicle. The kids love the rear seat video . . . they have never been so quiet on trips, short or long! The automatic side doors and rear hatch are way cool! We like the Butane Blue we got (almost got Inferno Red), but the other available colors are a bit blaw.

Had struts replaced at 65,000. The mechanic has replaced the strut mounts 4 times because whenever the weather turns cold we get a bad clunking sound when we hit a bump. Also problems with the electric windows and locks.

Have only had for 2 weeks but it looks like Dodge got it right. The stow & go is brilliant. Traded a 2001 Ford Windstar LX basically stripped. My SXT is loaded for the same price. It's great not to have to buy an aftermarket cd player and have the windows tinted. Both are standard w/3 zone climate control, 2 power sliders and power liftgate (only extra item $400). It's much quieter than the earlier Caravans. Having to move the seats all the way forward is a minor inconvenience to use the stow & go. It sure beats lugging them into the garage. Dodge reliability is always a concern but they can have their foreign minivans for $5k more. I don't want to pay $550/mo for a minivan.

Just bought a 2005 Grand Caravan SXT. Love the Stow and Go, and for the price, nothing can touch this van. The DVD is great and we really like the storage console between the seats. This is our fifth minivan, and the best yet.

We have now owned this vehicle for just over three months. It is as good as the other reviewers have mentioned. Looks great, rides great, reasonably priced. Love the power liftgate! Excellent storage area, including underneath seats. Seats are very comfortable. We are very satisfied with the vehicle and the complete buying experience with our local Dodge dealership.

This is a great family car. We had it for about a week and I can't believe how perfect it fits into our lifestyle. With all the storage and room inside we can fit our kids and there toys as well as go grocery shopping and still have enough room for anything else. Definitely suggest getting the SXT model with the DVD player because the kids have never been so quiet on a trip. It also feels like your driving a luxury sedan its so smooth to drive and the outside noise is virtually eliminated. Great family car.

By far the best we have owned. Chrysler finaly hit the home run with the stow and go seating. We liked our Pontiac Montana but the intake manifold gaskets started leaking radiator fluid into the engine at 62,000 miles and so it was time to consider another van or very costly repairs and we returned to Dodge for the third time. S0, the SXT looks like we are in for some fun from everything from the seating to the power liftgate and the 3.8 engine. Go for it!

We purchased this van used in 2005 as a demo. The first year was fine, downhill quickly from there. AC compressor is out and before it went out we replaced the switch 3 times, both tail light covers fell off, power locks and windows work when they want to, pieces on inside break easily, not enough power to push this tank. Passenger sliding door hard to open. Back liftgate is testy. Mine doesn't have stow and go and moving those seats around and/or out is tough!!! 100 other little issues with it. But all the little things add up to one big piece of junk!!! You could not pay me to own another one. Upgrading to a Sienna!

Only had the van 2 months but just love the sto and go seats, Have the back up option and all the other bells and whistles I could get. Would recommend highly. The only thing that could be changed is the electric passenger seat should have as many adjustments as the driver seat. The more I drive the better the gas milage gets. It is just great.

Not a good design.Getting annoying noise from Muffler at certain RPM(30- 40Mph typically). Dealer agrees it is design issue with stow N go seating models. Spoke to Crysler customer support department, unexpectedly Very Very POOR response. They said, they won't do anything about it and told me do whatever you can. My car has about 1500 miles and only 2 months old. I started noticing this after 750 miles. I am not at all satisfied with Crysler. This is not my first car, this is my 5th vehicle that I bought.

Great van so far. Once you learn to use the stow-n-go seats they are a snap and have been a life saver for a family of 5. Gas mileage is a little weak, but mostly stop and go driving so it is to be expected. Great power (3.8 V6). It gets onto the freeway and you are up to speed with the traffic in no time.

I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH MY 2004 GRAND CARAVAN SE. REMOVING THE SEATS WAS THE ONLY REAL INCONVIENCE. WHEN I SAW THE ON LINE ADDS FOR 2005 WITH STOW & GO SEATING I HAD TO SEE IT. i BOUGHT ONE VERY SOON AFTER SEEING ONE FOR THE FIRST TIME. MY OLD VAN ONLY HAD 58,000 MILES. A BABY BY MY STANDARDS. I USUALLY RUN MY VEHICLES 150,000 TOO 200,000+ MILES BEFORE CHANGING. THE STOW AND GO SEATS HAVE BEEN JUST WHAT I NEEDED. THE VAN HAS BEEN TROUBLE FREE SO FAR. MY FORTH CHRYSLER BRAND MINIVAN AND THE BEST SO FAR. THE LAST ONE WAS VERTUALLY TROUBLE FREE.

From the first Caravan I purchased the quality and comfort have only improved. My hat is off for the 2005 Grand SXT! Comfortalbe, easy to fold down seating, engine and interior quality has finally put it into the Toyota class. And in my mind better. I have tested the Toyota, Nisson and Honda, they do not stack up to the SXT! While this is a new design, in my mind it holds up to its top compettitors. Buy it you will like it.

Replaced my 1999 Montana ostensibly since I couldn't wait for GM's new model minivans. (always have been a GM family.) In addition, GM's minivans while adding a "nose" to their 2005 models did not offer anything new in the seat "stowage" area. The Grand Caravan SXT is undoubtedly a larger car in all respects than GM offerings. Only have had the car two weeks but satisfied with ride and engine (3.8)so far. It will take a little mileage under its belt to fairly evaluate the car but so far so good. I'll let you know later as we drive 4000K back and forth annually to AZ as to comfort and gas mileage. Happy so far.

I bought the van for reasons as everyone (stowaway seats). A day later I notices that the rear door was about 3/4 of inch off to one side, took it back to the deadler to have it fix. The service man said that it was common problem with this model and there was they can do about it. Also I took the van in for wheel alignment they found a bolt missing from one of the front wheel axles.

I was one of those girls that didn't want to drive anything but a truck. And when I started having kiddies and the gas prices sky rocketed I decided I had to break my pride and drive a van. Well, I will be completely honest here. My kids love it and the ride is relaxing. The space is nice and feels a lot safer. And when I purchased this van I made sure I had rear air. This is a must! It has always started, gets around great in the snow. It's always warm in the winter and cool in the summer with the rear air vents. The thing that I hate about it is that the gas mileage could be better. But I tend to drive a lot in the city. It's still a lot better than a truck or SUV.

I'm happy with my GC SXT so far. I've put about 2500 miles on it to date and that includes a 500 RT mile trip to Maine. Acceleration for such a heavy van is very good. Comfortable seats. Smooth and surprisingly nimble to drive. Braking system is good and easy to handle even when stopping suddenly. My kids (4 & 7) are comfortable in the rear seats - no complaints. They like reclining for sleep. CD Stereo and A/C are good and easy to operate. I like the electronic doors and liftgate - my wife doesn't - so she uses them manually which is fine.

This is the first Dodge we've owned and it will definitely be the last! One day it just started leaking water in the passenger floor, sometimes the rear door will unlock, sometimes it wont, engine light came on at 60,000 miles, you have to tap the rear lights to get them to work, and now the air bag sensor light comes on and off at random. Biggest junk ever made. DONT BUY DODGE IF YOU WANT MORE THAN 50K MILES OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

Just bought this van yesterday and am really impressed with it. After driving imports it surprised me how much thought was put into the interior features of the car. It has a lot to offer for the money. They try to make use of every bit of the car for storage and convenience items. The car has so many features it is sometimes unintuitive to control things on the instrument panel. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the fact that I just bought it. From what I can tell I got a screaming good deal and I highly recommend my dealer. They were extremely nice and low pressure but provided me an "EBay" price over the phone. The car was delivered to my door.

This van has been in the shop EIGHT times since we bought it. They have done 2 alignments, replaced defective tires, and it still pulls to the right. (not to mention the right front tire is worn out, again)Now the Dealer and Dodge are saying that this is normal. There were 2 interior body panels that warped so bad they had to be replaced. (left front A pillar, and the Right rear) HMMM. Not to mention that the lack of adjustment to the front seats, leaves my wifes legs sore. It still needs to go in again. All that said, I will never buy another Dodge product. This is going up for sale very soon.

Very thoughtfully designed vehicle! Stow and go is elegant in its simplicity. Great initial quality-no trips to dealer after 5000 miles. In a trip from IL to AZ, I got 21.5 miles/gal averaging 65 mph. Only concern was that the van seemed to 'float' somewhat when passing semis at 80 mph in NM. Otherwise, the ride was great and the engine very responsive to passing requests. This is my 4th Dodge minivan and is the best by far!

My husband had a stroke and we needed to find a van that could be converted for handicapped use. We were so lucky to find Rollx Vans in Minnesota and they deal only in Chrysler products. We are very pleased with our van and our conversion features.. We have our life back! The passenger side back slide door works great, the car kneels and the ramp folds out in a matter of seconds... all by remote control. The remote that controls the conversion equipment is very handy and works great!

My family and I were in a very severe crash right before Christmas. We were lucky to have walked away with few injuries. The van held up immensley without flipping (when no one could believe it didn't). There was little frame damage due to the strength of the frame. The engine area recieved most of the damage and overall the vehicle held up well and is back to driving like new after a crash. I feel lucky to have been in this van.

I love being able to get in, turn the key, & go! If I do run into any problems, a phone call to the dealer takes care of it. If I have a problem on tne road, a call for Chysler Roadside Assistance gets me help in a very short time. And repairs take very little time at all. It does make the drive into Seattle very easy, and one I would not even contemplate without my Grand Caravan.

There's a reason why GM and Chrysler are in economic trouble. My 2005 Grand Caravan sums it up. 1. Tie rods failed at 31000 miles, not covered by warranty, $350 cost. 2. Tie rods failed again at 68000 miles, $350 cost. 3. At 55000 miles fluid started leaking into rack and pinion boots. Caused engine (transmission?) to sound aweful. Replaced rack and pinion parts. $950 cost. 4. At 43,000 heating coil fried and had to be replaced. $250 cost. 5. Car has been recalled/inspected/fixed 4 or 5 times. 6. Dealer has 15K, 30K, 45K, and 60K mileage service plans, priced at 225, 400, 550, 700. Who pays that kind of money for routine service? A Joke compared to my past Toyota or Honda!

I bought this van with plans to drive kiddos and cousins around and it has been great! I really love all the driver seat adjustments because I have short legs. I have driven on long vacations with my parents and my two kids adn everyone seemed comfortable enough. I LOVE the Fold-and-Go seats. that is the main reason I bought this van. They have come in handy when I don't have a truck and It has proven great for camping. Just throw in a full size blowup mattress and throw mosquito netting over the open trunk and "presto!". It has had problems with the Rack and Pinion and struts. I hhad them replaced under warranty after owning the vehicle for 2 years.

We bought it just as it came on the market, the Stow and Go seats really sold us. I have a disabled shoulder and am still able to work the stow and go features; love the way the rear seating can be turned around for 'tailgating' parties! Being able to keep seats looking great when not being used by stowing them, it gives us maximum room to carry purchases. Center console may be set back between the second row seats and net used between front seats. People helping me out with groceries think it is "so cool" to have so much room and still carry people. We use the pockets for the seats we are using to put things out of sight and make it safer to buy in several places.

The visible parts of the car are great. The body is good, the interior fit and finish is good, the "Stow 'n Go" is great, the engine is plenty powerful. I like the car for its features. Mechanically, I am extremely disappointed. There is a constant rubbing sound coming out of the front- left upper strut mount over even little bumps, the engine uses about 3.5 quarts of oil between oil changes (3000 miles), the transmission clunks (and the car jumps) when down-shifting when you take your foot off the gas. I have reported these issues numerous times, but the "factory rep" keeps telling me that they are within design specs and won't fix it. Give me a break! No more Dodges for me!

Our 2005 Grand Caravan sxt has had to have the air conditioning repaired. We also had to have new plugs and wires and the software upgraded on the computer. It also has a whine around 50 miles per hour.(Dealer has heard noise, design flaw, no fix as of yet) I am very unhappy with this van, we bought a new van, not a used one. This van has been in the shop more than our '96 Ford Windstar was in 9 years.

Our trade-in was a 2000 Grand Caravan with 41000 miles. It was a very good van but this 2005 has it beat by a mile! The 2005 is quiter, better performance and the "stow and go" seating is terrific. The other mini vans do not match it for design and value. This is our fifth Dodge mini van and this one is the best by far.

I bought this car for hauling and traveling. It has performed well for both. The only trouble I have had is a frozen wiper fluid line, an automatic side door that is now manual and some trim that hasn't held up to boys. It's not a sexy ride, but it gets me where I want to go safely and reliably.

We have just about 4K miles on the van. Rides very nice. Interior is versatile, hauled a full size couch using Stow and Go which is cool. The compartments in the floor are handy storage when the seats are up. The leather seating is firm and driver/passenger seats are not comfortable compared to Honda. The Stow and Go seats are surprisingly comfortable even for an adult considering the compact size. Have had a few minor problems with trim coming off after only 2 months. Front bumper cracked, how, I don't know, no marks. The dealer said too bad, no warranty, $750 repair. I would have bought the Odyssey, but Dodge came in $5K less plus 0% financing for 5 years. Overall, a decent value. You get what you pay for.

You won't believe how smooth a ride this van has! It has a HUGE interior room that is versatile and easy to care for. It can handle the scratches from dogs, and hauls tons of stuff. It gets suprisingly great gas milage, even in the city. It is DRIVER FOCUSED; the control panels are directed more toward the driver, making it easier to reach all the controls and keep driving the vehicle your first priority. The sound system is great; and having separate heating and cooling for drivers and passengers front and back is wonderful. The filter is priceless! My child is an asthmatic, and this filter has been the difference from discomfort to absolute pleasure.

i travel accross country for work & this van gets over all the mountain passes from coast to coast/east to west. it has great get up and go. owned another van, but his is my favorite. stores more, comfy ride. for short people it adjusts perfectly so the airbag isn't in your face when it goes off, you can reach the pedals. love the heat/air in front & back, helps keep the whole van at a good temp. truly a joy

I was very nervous about buying this vehicle, mainly due to dodge's reputation for reliability, however, I must say I have yet to find anything wrong with the van since we bought it, and I do have 3/36000 before I need to worry. Our is loaded cept for a sunroof and nav system. Everything is working perfectly.
