Great SUV
Looked at several SUV's everything from Durango to Yukon, after we drove a Durango we knew it was the SUV that we wanted,we were searching for a white SXT.Union Dodge had exactly what we wanted at a good price and an excellent sales team.We love it !!!!!
Excellent
Everytime I see another Durango on the street I realize how happy I am with my purchase. The look is great and the ride is perfect. Very comfortable, fits like a glove and has plenty of room.

Great vehicle
I have owned this vehicle for less than a week, but so far I absolutely love it. It is a very smooth ride, and living in pothole ridden NYC that is very important. It handles the road very well.
02 Durango 4X4
Awesome vehicle... Absolutely no rattles and problems. Very solid vehicle.
Peppy
Makes getting on a crowded highway feel safe. Great acceleration, but as you might expect, you can watch the fuel gage go down. Also, as a city resident, this mid size, narrow SUV is great for squeezing down narrow streets and parking. Spent about $300 over 2 years above routine maintenance which is not bad. Bought truck with 30,000 and now have 50,000. Overall like the dodge (this is my 3rd) and I think dodge gets a bad rap most prof. reviewers (consumer ratings are always higher).
Awsome
Bought my Durango in March 07. It only had 49000 miles, it now has 64000 miles. good power and reliability, i drove from MD to PA on several occasions the ride was very comfortable. drove cross country from MD to KS towing a nissan PU and the towing and power were excellent. the best SUV i have driven. better then the ford and chevy lines. the MPG is something to be disered about 12.5 to 13 miles to gallon, but i knew this when i bought it. the body still is tough looking but also classy. best SUV out there.
almost perfect
awsome to drive, turning rato is great. very roomy and the seats are comfortable, all radio and instrument switches are easy to get at.
none
great styling and dependability. great road suv. ride could be improved. great engine and acceleration. hard on brakes however.
not too shabby
so far not bad great pick up and go fits my familys needs
Great vehicle
The 2003 Dodge Durango is easily one of the best mid-sized SUVs currently on the market. After cross-shopping the Grand Cherokee, TrailBlazer, Explorer, and Endeavor the Durango stood out as the best handling and most comfortable of the group. The ride is excellent, the handling responsive, and the brakes very confidence inspiring. Comfort is the best of the SUVs I looked at and the dealer was the friendliest and most honest with respect to pricing/negotiating. With the current incentives on this vehicle it is hard to go wrong choosing the Durango.
Luvit!!!
Looked at (and drove) the "big three" mid-size SUV's, and the Durango won out hands down. Didn't like the feel of the Explorer, and the T-Blazer looked pretty cheap inside. Plus, I REALLY liked the V8 power on the low-end. Tysinger's was a dream to work with.
2003 Dodge Durango SLT
I love my new Dodge Durango but the gas mileage is a problem. It is fun to drive and very comfortable but I am filling it up every other day!! Since it is a big SUV and has great power, I would almost have to say that I should have know what I was getting into. But filling it up with gas every other day is ridiculous - even for a big SUV with great power! I am going to have to budget putting gas in my car!
Great Suv
Great SUV no problems.77.000 miles still going strong,We have a 1998 Durango and it has been a great Suv.
Great SUV
I Love this truck ,we got a great deal from the dealer ,who was fantastic. I did shop around .We looked at Explorers , those new Chevys and a toyota. We test drove them all, they came with 6 cyl. engines and they were a little more expensive then the Dodge. They just did not have the get up and go and bland styling save the chevy which has a unique if not ugly look. The Durango has the best Base power, excellent room and great styling.
Durango Devil
Refreshing for an American built SUV. Ride is somewhat sporty and pretty predictable in manuvering. Good bang for the buck with a touch of German quality and engineering. Almost has a "hotrod" appeal.
AOK after 10 months
Chose this vehicle after having Cherokee. Durango, is a larger more comfortable vehicle. And yes, the mileage is lower but the engine is bigger, so that is to be expected. I find the Durango to be reliable, and very comfortable, especially in the price range, my passangers always make a comment of liking it.
Soccer mom Durango
This 2WD version of the Durango comes with a very powerful V8. I love the power. I find that I'm getting 14.8mpg on the interstate. That's not great. Otherwise this is a very comfortable vehicle. The leather seats are very nice.
Way-to-Go Dodge
Bought this vehicle 12/7/02 has not been back to the shop for any reason. We have towed a 2800lb boat through the Ozarks on two seperate occassions and hardly noticed the boat was behind us. Just for information when you go through the Ozarks the roads are mostly winding two lane highways. We have towed with this vehicle about 1,000mi. and does a great job. Our vehicle has the 4.7 which is decent on mpg and lots of power. My wife loves her Durango. Dodge did a GREAT JOB on this vehicle
the durango rocks!
this is my first brand new vehicle and i love it! i drove a 92' ford explorer and finally decided to go w/ the durango. as a single guy, the sxt is the way to go (i saved $3,500). i love the v8 engine and the smooth ride...very responsive to quick turns! i upgraded my seats to after-market leather and i feel like i'm riding first class everytime i sit in it!
thumbs up
a very smooth ride w/plenty of power. 3rd seat easy to raise/lower. more interior room than it looks. not the best mileage but about expected for the power.
I hate it!!!
I traded in my 2000 Durango due to high mileage, which to me rode like a Cadillac, and purchased the 2003 model. After 3 months we are looking at trading this one in. This one rides like a truck, the interior seems so much smaller and compact. You are now butting elbows with your passenger. I always said I would always drive a Durango, but now I think we will be looking at other SUV's.
THIS IS A GREAT SUV
MY WIFE AND I JUST PURCHASED A "03" AND WE LOVE IT. THE SPACE IN THE DURANGO IS AWESOME! MY MOM WORKS FOR TRENTON ENGINE IN TRENTON, MI AND HER BOYFRIEND ALSO DOES TOO. HIS BROTHER IS 2ND IN COMANND @ CENTURY DODGE IN TAYLOR, MI. HE TURNED MY WIFE AND I ONTO THE DURANGO AND HE WAS RIGHT U CANT GO WRONG WHEN U BUY A DURANGO!
Not Good, But Not Bad
Bought the truck used, had 52k on it. Comfortable ride, good looks, and compliments from a lot of people. Really like this design, the '04 and up look too square and bulky. Interior is designed well. Gas mileage is normal for a 5.9L V8 about 15-17 mpg on the highway. Disappointed that the water pump went out at 59k. Cruise control is acting up too, but nothing I can't fix. With gas prices soaring and seeming to never quit, will consider a crossover for a next SUV, no reason to have a V8 powered SUV, don't do any towing and the it's the wife's daily driver.
Great SUV
I got just what I wanted. It is a bit more like a truck than say the Montero But it is powerful, roomy, Comfortable, Nice looking, etc.. I had a 96 4.0 Jeep cherokee sport 2dr and this is a big truck compared to my old jeep. Liked the new Jeep Limited but scared of the transmission problems and now that I compare this truck with the limited I love my final choice. Much bigger and better looking.
2003 Black Durango
I have just bought my Durango a few week's ago. I have had nothing but fun driving it. The very next day after buying the Durango, I drove from New Jersey to Ohio. Which is not an easy drive. Going up and down through the mountains. The V-8 just purred and kept chugging up the road. The only thing bad was the chugging; chugged down a lot of fuel. But all and all it is a very nice and enjoyable ride.
Won't buy anything else but a Durango
This is my second Durango, and they have been the best cars I've ever owned. Very reliable, sturdy, and fun, I will always have a Durango as part of my family.
Great Job!
I am writing this review on the 2003 Durango my husband & I purchased on May 16th 2003. This was a gift from him to me for my birthday and I can't tell you how excited I was to receive it. We are a family of 6 and I have always owned mini-vans for this reason. It's great that Dodge has a SUV that is affordable, dependable and safe for a family our size. I am more than pleased with my Durango and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks again to the great staff at Kidd Chyrsler and all employees of Dodge for a great SUV:)
Love my Durango
I enjoy my Dodge Durango 4.7 auto 4x4 air and all the xtras! I have figured out how to get over 20 plus on fuel mileage. This has me sold on further Dodge investments
Nice Ride
I bought this car about a year and a half ago. it barely had 14000 miles on it and was in perfect condition. I paid $15.5k for it and got it for a steal. I had heard a lot of bad things about the Durangos but for the price, I could not pass it up. I have driven this car across the country twice and have not had ANY problems with it.
Been Perfect
Was concerned about buying a Dodge had heard there were quality issues. However found a great dealer, Oursiman Dodge in Alexandra, VA. Have now bought my second Durango, first one was a 2000. Have not had one problem with either one. My only complaint is the head room with the rear air. But I see they fixed it in 2004, guess I'll have to buy a new one.
Great SUV
This is my second Durango. The only reason I traded my old one is, I got a great trade in price. Plus I also wanted the more pulling power that my old one didn't (I had the 318 now I have the 360 motor). I this this is a great SUV. A SUV that you get more for your money. I never had a problem with my old Durango, and that's why I am now on my second one.
Duraaaango!
This is THE SUV folks. Sure, some people will swear by the newer design of the Ford Explorer, but let's face it - at the end of the day the Dodge Durango is an SUV - a truck with style and functionality. The Explorer has just turned one step closer to being a car lifted up a bit to look like a truck. Not that the Explorer is bad but its sort of 'dainty' compared to the Durango. The Durango handles great off-road and in 4 wd for snow and mud. Its interior is clean and crisp and it has a solid feel all about. The leather seats are comfortable. Its just a solid sporty rig!
Extreme fun
Just bought my '03 SXT 2wd. I love it. It handles like a sports car. I own a '02 Intrepid and I have never had a problem with it as well. There are so many possibilities with this truck. I can't wait. I am a forever Dodge owner from now on. I have 4 kids and they love the comfort of the seats and the drive.
2003 dodge durango
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST TRUCK I HAVE EVER OWNED.IT IS THE COMPLETE PACKAGE.THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY BUT IT DOESNT FEEL LIKE YOUR DRIVING A BUS LIKE THE FORD EXPEDITION MY BROTHER OWNS.THE ENGINE IS POWERFUL BUT NOTHING CRAZY.THE GAS MILEAGE IS LOW BUT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM AN 8 CYLINDER .IT BLOWS AWAY THE PREVIOUS TRUCKS I HAVE OWNED(98 4- RUNNER,98 FORD EXPLORER,2001 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER).THE RIDE IS EXCELLANT,VERY SMOOTH.
nice ride
meets my needs has great power i wish it had better gas milage. but over all it is a great ride
Nice Ride for a Permit Driver
Weve had our Durango for 4 yrs. Its great, though the water pump was damaged by a rock causeing the engine to overheat way too much and blow. Other than that this is one damn fine truck.
2003 Dodge Durango SXT 4x4 4.7L
I have a SXT model with the small 4.7 v8 and was getting around 18-19mpg hwy, till I installed a magnaflow powerpack muffler and a cold air intake. Now I'm getting around 380-400 miles to a tank full of 24 gals. That's strictly highway though. But when you kick down into passing gear you can feel a huge difference in power and almost watch the fuel needle go down. 0-60/6.1sec--1/4mile/15.42. 3.55axle 265/70x16 tires. Can't wait to see what happens when I put headers on and tune it. Love that 4.7!
Got what I expected
We all know the stories of gas mileage, but we knew that before we bought the Durango. Great vehicle, with plenty of power and fun to drive. Prefer it to the new 2004 by a mile!
Better than a Minvan
We are a minivan family and just purchased our first '03 SUV. Cannot wait to trade the minivan in for a second Durango. My husband and I fight over who will drive the truck and who will drive the minivan. Its roomy, sporty and drives and handles great!! The kids love the rear air and they actually sit without complaints during trips. Who can ask for better than that?
All of us
This is a great SUV,lots of room for my large family, comfortable to drive and looks good!
durago slt 4wd 03
I travel nationwide with my durango. In Boston, Ma. snow storm with the 4 wheel drive worked very well. I put a air raid system on and getting 17 highway 13.5 city.On the downside;I have had to turn my rotors twice now and they still sqeak.
I love my Durango
So far its been wonderful, no problems, this is my second one, had no problems with the first one, so thats wy were back
great except the gas
The 5.9 V-8 is awesome! All the power you need and then some. But remember, each time the pedal hits the floor, that'll cost you a few bucks on gas for that split second. 3rd row seat is easy to fold and for adults under 6 feet tall, not THAT bad.
Great Ride
Owned 2 Expeditions before the Durango and wouldn't take either one back. Great ride, handeling and performance. I love this truck!
I absolutely love the 'old' Durangos!
I absolutely love my 2000 dodge Durango! I traded in a 1993 Ford Explorer for this Durango and wish I'd done it sooner!
2003 Dodge Durango SXT 4X4
This truck is the best on i've owned. The truck before this was a Ford exporer and I can't believe the difference. Dodge has done a wonderful job with their SUV and I'm a buyer forever
Like this Ride
This is not my 1st SUV. This vehicle has a very responsive V8 and is a rear wheel drive that is made and designed to pull a trailer, haul passengers, and carry cargo. This SUV does what it was designed to do very competently with a very solid feel. I have pulled a 3200lb trailer with this SUV and was very pleased with the way it handled. This is NOT a small SUV, but a mid-size that competes very well with its larger rivals.
Yep, its fun to drive
I have bought 2 Durango's for the simple reason of being a fun SUV. A very well built truck with a truck like ride with a responsive handling quality.
I recommend this vehicle
Comfortable and quiet ride. Roomy and stylish vehicle. The vehicle has everything except a GPS. I am very happy with this purchase.
Great truck and 0% financing
Good, reliable american truck. Does not have all the bells and wistels of some of the more pricy trucks out there but it's got a solid V8 and lots of room. Great looking truck too. When you figure in the 0% financing it's thousands less then anything close to the same size and power
