Good Truck - Would probably buy another
Have had this truck since it was new - regular maintenance schedule and oil changes - 2 transmission problems (Total approx. $1000) in it's lifespan.
Great Truck!
I absolutely wish I would have just fixed the minor mechanical issues on my 95 instead of trading it for my 06 which was an expensive rip off compared to my 95. My Dakota had the 3.9L v6 which is by no means a powerful motor but it ran well and it proved reliable. The exterior styling and overall build quality of the 1995 Dakota and the 1992-1996 Dakotas in general to me is better than any of the newer iterations of the Dakota. The interior was plush with options for a 1995, and it actually had a good amount of storage space in it unlike my 2006 which is probably the most useless ext cab ever built. The 1995 Dakota is a good truck, I highly recommend if you are looking for a used truck.

Dodge all the way
My dad first owned the 3.9L V6 Dakota Sport and we went on family vacations and he used it for business. My mom also drove it around to and from work (errands too) for years. The Dodge has been through a lot of travels!! It now has 205,000 miles on it and is running wonderful!! Only normal fixes had to be done. Great truck. Now I own the truck and enjoy it a lot!
Another Dodge lemon... What a pc of POO!
I got this truck NEW & have always had problems with it. The motor runs good but has no power whatsoever (this is the "MAGNUM" v6 model). Having a towing package on this thing is a waste of money. The thing is slower than slow. A Geo metro 3-banger can outrun this turtle. My 4 cylinder Sentra looks and feels like a race car compared to this truck! But that's the good news. I now have 122,000 miles on it, and I am yet again about to put in another transmission! This will be transmission #7! No, I don't pull trailers. No, I don't go off-roading! No, I don't haul heavy loads! All this truck is used for is to drive to and from work! I baby the heck out of it! What a pc of dog poo!!!
My 95 Dakota..a real trooper!
I was leary of buying this truck being a 95 with 198K miles but the 318 has been a work horse! I just cracked 210K this weekend and nothing outside normal maintenance has came up. I haul cars almost every weekend and the truck has been outstanding for what I need.
