My Charger saved my families life.

Charmira, 03/02/2016
2015 Dodge Charger SE 4dr Sedan (3.6L 6cyl 8A)

I was an owner of a 2006 dodge charger and loved it. In the course of owning my car I was involved in three serious accidents where 3 individuals hit me. I not only walked away from each accident but my charger kept going. The very last accident which was the 4th one involved my 18 year old son and his 3 friends. They where rammed on the passengers side by a drunk driver. The car was completely mangled and totaled but my son and his 3 friends walked away uninjured. When I got the insurance money the only logical choice was another charger. I was also pleasantly surprised at what my 2006 charger appraised at. My 2015 charger is beautiful it gets a lot of attention, its fast its all those things its supposed to be. Honestly, I could care less about the aesthetics and speed. What I do care about is that car saved us many times. When my son was hit by the drunk driver the responding officer was surprised no one was injured. Im just grateful that we still have American companies that still care about americans and their safety. I am a charger fan for life.

2015 Dodge Charger SXT 4dr Sedan AWD (3.6L 6cyl 8A)

I went with the SXT AWD Rallye edition as this is my work commuter car and Maine winter roads can be treacherous and gas mileage was a factor. However, if the AWD was still available with the HEMI I probably would have gone with the V8, just because you know I'm a man who doesn't want say "it has a Hemi". The Rallye editions comes standard with true factory duel exhaust and bumps the V6 up to a legitimate 300HP. It's no slouch and fun to drive. I love the active cruise on my daily interstate commute of 95 miles round trip. radio/navigation is easy to operate, much better than the one in my previous ford Taurus or the Rav 4 my wife had. Hands free is simple and intuitive. I have never averaged less than 25 mpg (heavy foot the first few weeks) in mixed driving and usually it hoovers around 27mpg, on one long 500+ mile road trip I averaged 29.5mpg, really great when you consider the cruise was set at 75 most of the time. the lane departure system works great on highway trips, but it can be disabled with a push button and on narrow roads that is relief as it can intrude on the driving experience. The breaks could be just a touch better if they went with 4-piston calipers, but they get the job with a bit of fade on the tail end of a hard stop. Build quality, material feel, ride comfort and ergonomics are outstanding, chrysler has come a long way from the cheap hard plastics of past vehicles. Overall no complaints and no buyers remorse after 5000 miles I still really enjoy this car.

Second SRT8 - Great Cars!

2015 Dodge Charger SRT 392 4dr Sedan (6.4L 8cyl 8A)
15 of 16 people found this review helpful

Traded a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT392 for this one. Actually wanted this car back then, but bought the Challenger based on a good deal. I'm not a family guy, but I prefer sedans for their short doors and all around practicality. ** The Car: 2015 Dodge Charger SRT392, 8 Spd Auto, pitch black, fully optioned except for sun roof. ** What attracted me to this car: I'm a car enthusiast, so I follow car reviews on YouTube continually. I love the power and torque of the 392 and was interested in the Hellcat models as well if the price was right. The reviews on this car convinced me that it was a major leap forward from the 2012 I owned, but the price gouging on the Hellcats (Shame on you Dodge dealers nationwide! You will come to regret this!) convinced me that they were not feasible. ** Major Selling Points: Upgraded electronics interface and SRT's tires/wheels/brakes package, which are essentially identical between the 392 and Hellcat. ** Most Surprising Aspects: Overall fit and finish, luxuriousness of the interior, and attention to detail. The interior now feels like an upscale European car in every way, the pitch black paint job is absolutely blinding in full sunlight, the new front end styling is stunning from every angle, and the center stack electronic interface is by far the most useful and attractive I've ever seen. ** Little things I love already: The Harmon Kardon 19 speaker stereo subwoofer and amp, which had been previously hidden in the spare tire well of the trunk (and still is on Challenger models), has been relocated to parts unknown under the rear seat, freeing up the trunk sub-space for a foam storage unit that's perfect for holding car cleaning supplies and the like so that they don't slide around in the trunk. Also, both the floor mats and a quite useful mesh trunk "cargo hammock" are included gratis. The little things make a BIG difference! Thanks for noticing Dodge! ** Most surprising thing so far: Gas mileage. MUCH better than my 2012 SRT Challenger so far! I chalk most of that up to the Sachs ZF-8 Speed auto trans, which is almost worth the price of ownership alone. ** Recommendation: I think the SRT392 far better value, not only for the money, but overall as compared to the Hellcat. Anyone thinking they're going to be shortchanged in the power department will be pleasantly surprised, as the 392's power band is so much better matched to the overall vehicle that it's nearly as fast as the Hellcat, especially in the normal driving conditions most drivers will experience. ** One minor quibble after 2000 miles: the front collision warning and active braking system is of questionable value at this point in it's design progression, as it's a bit like having your overly-protective mother riding shotgun with a brake pedal of her own. Just WAY to sensitive, and although it might well save you from an inadvertent front end collision, it's probably even more likely to cause a rear end collision when the guy behind you gets surprised by your sudden abrupt braking maneuver. I've had a couple near misses already, so I drive with the system OFF all the time now. The switch will hold its setting, so you can turn it off once and not have to worry about it every time you get it, but still. Unless you're a VERY conservative driver (not likely in this car), I think the system's an overall liability and would not recommend it's use under any conditions. 1 Year Update: Approximately 6K miles so far. The car is still still stunning in it's good looks (!!!), impeccably reliable even at 7200' altitude and risk of snow approximately 5 months of the year, and most impressive in its performance. I use it mostly for local in town driving, so accordingly, it gets pretty dismal gas mileage, especially when I put my foot into it, which is fairly often. Even so, mileage is usually between 12-15 MPG for strictly in town driving. When I take it on the road to Santa Fe or Albuquerque I can easily average 23-25 MPG. Quite acceptable in my book. Likewise the Pirelli P-Zero Summer tires are probably 50-60% spent already, even with a front-cross, rear forward rotation at 5K. Those who are familiar with muscle cars and summer tires already know this is fairly typical. All in all, my main "gripe" with the car thus far is the fact that massive 15.4" Brembos up front shed COPIOUS amounts of brake dust all over those beautiful 20 x 9.5" forged wheels. Once again, this simply goes with the territory, so it's no big deal at all; but if you're a fanatical detailer as I am, it'll definitely keep you busy on the weekends. So, the critical question; would I buy it again and do I have any regrets? Although I wanted in the worst way to be able to afford a Hellcat when I bought this car, I realized then and STILL appreciate now that the SRT392 was by far the better all around value and a TRULY GREAT performance car in its own right.

I live in a rural area and a full size vehicle plays a vital role for a number of things, specifically safety. Wildlife tend to be suicidal. Winter tends to over stay it's welcome and the number of big rigs on the road out number the little ones by a huge amount. I researched many of the full to mid-sized sedans. I wanted and need a few specific things, such as 4 doors, sporty feel, sporty look but didn't destroy my gas bill too bad. I looked at the Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, then the Accord, Toyota and BMW's. For the money, hands down the Charger took the cake. The Camaro and Mustang were hard to pass up but for the value, it just didn't do it for me plus I wanted 4 doors. The mid-size cars just didn't provide much more for a few miles to the gallon. They had a tinny feel and were too compact feeling. The Charger is a spunky, responsive and comfortable car that also turns heads; all under 30K. Coupled with the warranty's, it was hard to beat.

First "Adult" Purchase Was a Good One!

2015 Dodge Charger SXT 4dr Sedan AWD (3.6L 6cyl 8A)

I've been leasing my Dodge Charger AWD Rallye for about a year and a half now. I intend to buy it out at the end of the lease. Because of the short length of time there won't be much said about its reliability, but so far I've had almost no problems. In short, this car is amazing. It looks incredible, both during the day and at night. I've noticed it turn heads several times and I don't even have any special additions to the exterior. My interior looks just as good and it's almost secretly a luxury car with a fantastic UConnect system, great climate control, and awesome dashboard styling. It's a blast to drive too. I wish the "from-zero" acceleration was a little better, but the rolling start or highway acceleration (i.e. 60-80mph) is insane, especially in Sport Mode. You can feel the back end of the car drop and the ride is almost dangerously smooth. I've reached 103mph and was shocked by how well it handled the speed. The automatic shifting within the first 5 mins of when you get in the car is pretty bad -- probably my biggest complaint. BUT the AWD feature is fantastic in the snow. During a 6-12 inch blizzard in CO last year, the Charger handled gracefully and safely; I was even passing Subaru's on the side of the road! I put a lot of research into this purchase (6+ months) and the Charger won out over many other cars and thus far, I haven't regretted it AT ALL. Highly recommended.

My 2015 Charger is the best car I have ever owned. The instant power is always there and the sound is terrific. I acutally cha my 2015 Charger is the best car I have ever owned. The gas mileage on trips is always between 23 and 29 mpg on regular at 75-90 mph. The only thing that ever let me down was the a/c compressor. It quit at 45,000 miles and FCA did not help out with the cost. I was told it is the only week part on the car. The second one is still working well at 95000. The sound from the exhaust is terrific; I tried for a deeper sound with Corsa extreme. When in sport mode it makes the day. I was going to trade it in but I can't get myself to do it because it still brings a smile to my face. I get compliments all the time on the color(red) and condition. I would love to get another but I can't seem to part with this one. This is an update; I now have 100,000 miles on my Charger... I still look back to look at it after parking. It still scoots like crazy. I put new tires on it instead of selling it because I still love driving it. I have done all the 100,000 mile things that the manufacture requires, tranny, spark plugs etc.... runs like a top. If I traded it I would probably get another one and I haven't done that ever. I always buy the next new car, but not this time. Check the records on how the former owner took care of it. If you check mine it is serviced every 5000 miles from the beginning. The value of it has gone up(thanks to the shortage of used cars) so make sure it is worth the value to you.

Bought this car about 5 weeks ago and still learning many things about the features. So far it has been working great. It is a comfortable ride, so quiet that often you are up to speed quicker than you realize. It has all the safety features we wanted and they work extremely well. Have had several compliments about the looks of the car as well as the ride. The gas mileage is still increasing as there is less than 1000 miles at this time. We test drove several vehicles and this was the best overall for the money. It is not a $60,000+ car but the interior and amenities are right up there. The exterior is retro but modern. In reading some of the other reviews, we wondered if those drivers who had nothing nice to say bought the car without a test drive or really looking at it. The technology works fairly easily but does take a little while to learn. Our salesman sent us videos to help learn things as well and that was a plus. We got a great deal as this was a leftover new 2015. It is very heavy and could use a little more horsepower for the size/weight but definitely moves and we made the choice to buy the 6 cylinder so knew what we were getting. Will update this review when we have had the car longer but so far we are very happy. October 16, 2017: Still running great, reliable and comfortable. Every now and then we get a wierd message or the side mirror will light up like someone is next to us when there is no one there but it goes away quickly. The dealer has checked it and found no problems so we just keep track of things. Overall it is a very nice car.

The car has less than 7,000 miles and looks great. However, the console dash has a very annoying plastic rattle. The noise was noticed after one of several factory warranty repairs. Dealer said the noise is common and requires a replacement that would not be worth the cost. The push button starter stalls most of the time. The cost to replace is not worth the money for a car with horrible resale value.

My 2015 Charger R/T SAVED MY LIFE!

OK, We all know these cars absolutely rule the highway with their speed, engineering prowess, and attention to driver exhilaration... BUT I HAD NO IDEA THEY WERE BUILT WITH SUCH INCREDIBLY HIGH SAFETY STANDARDS ! I saw where another owner above was praising their Charger for the PURE MIRACLE of being able to walk away from , otherwise tragic, events. In 2018, I suffered a stroke while driving @ about 75 MPH and BLASTED , kamikaze-style , through a red light and all the traffic waiting for it to change. That is what initially woke me up from the 'seizure' I was having. After dispersing an F-150 and 3 other large passenger vehicles in various directions, my Charger continued on down the highway, crossing the median and EVENTUALLY coming to a stop. When I came to, I was ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE the doors weren't going to open, or that I would soon be on fire, or that this must be what Heaven feels like... But, MIRACULOUSLY, the airbags and crumple zones (along with the seatbelt) and overall sturdy construction of the Charger, delivered me to my destination (in the middle of a cattle ranch about 1/2 mile away from the initial impact.) with only minor scrapes to my forehead. The door opened EFFORTLESSLY and the Hemi was STILL RUNNING JUST FINE!!! (even though almost NONE of the engine compartment remained.) I could have driven that car home if it had not been missing it's radiator by then.... :) Oh, I ALMOST forgot to mention that EVERYONE involved in that accident walked away with very minor injuries. (Thank the LORD ABOVE !!) I sincerely think EVERYTHING about Dodge changed when they merged as Daimler-Benz. Something tells me the folks over on the "Benz-Side" of the Conference Room must have shared a few decades of German crash-testing research! (Either that or God is great and he is real ???- OR BOTH MAY BE TRUE SIMULTANEOUSLY ?? YOU BE THE JUDGE!!) :) Cheers! Sincerely, Hemi-Lover 777 (Dodge Customer for Life)

Just bought my new 2015 Dodge Charger SXT AWD. Love all the "gadgets" and such, but in the end, it is the performance that really matters. This car is fun to drive and still has plenty of room. I think I'm like most guys who would really prefer to have the ability to get a new Challenger Hellcat, but...alas...we have families and responsibilities and many many more important things to drop that much money on! That being the case, the Charger is a GREAT car for all those reasons. It will not only get you and the family from Point A to Point B....it will do it in style and you'll have a blast getting there!

I traded my 2009 MB C300 for the Dodge SXT Rallye edition has upgraded suspension and more ponies under the hood. I'm loving every aspect of this car. Honestly this model feels great driving. I was in the market for a car with more cabin space and this car definitely has it. Fuel economy on sticker looks great for this car size only driven it a week puts a smile on me every time I get in. Sure brand is not as prestiges as a Mercedes, however it's super fun drive and you get a lot for your money , uconnect is one of the best in market plus XM satellite one year free. Plus the new lines on this car gets a lot attention. I don't feel like I downgraded at all.

The Rallye edition with the 8 speed trans with paddle shifters on the steering wheel makes it a fun drive. The premium wheels give it good curb apeal. More power and better transmission shifting than the 2010 edition I previously had that I sold with over 100K miles with no issues. Best looking sporty 4 door car.

i upgraded from a Chrysler 300 w/5.7 Hemi to the Scat Pack as i wanted more performance and couldnt afford the SRT price premium. i just rolled over 2600 miles and have not regretted my decision one bit. the power and performance bang-for-the-buck is unbeatable. the ride is firm but liveable and cabin materials quality is fantastic. if you think all Chargers look like rental cars, think again; in Scat Pack/SRT trims, this is the meanest looking sedan out there. and i can have my son in his car seat in the back, my wife in the passenger side, and room in the trunk for plenty of beach or sports gear and be completely comfortable. EDIT: after a year of ownership, i have noticed some minor squeaks in the interior while at speed on the highway. again, its minor, and i hadnt noticed it before as i usually drive with the windows down, but the summer heat has driven my windows up and AC on.

I love this car, it has 19000 miles on it and it is running strong, the only bad this is that i warped my rotors but that is my fault lol. The gas millage car be awful but when you get on the interstate i get 32 miles to the gallon! I had to give the car to my mom because of multiple speeding tickets and was tired of paying fines. I love the car will defiantly get another one when i get out of the military.

A fine vehicle- First of all, it's more of a family car than anything else, unless of course you have a HEMI in it. Visibility is teriffic. 8 sp trans is excellent, though I wish it were a six speed. Primary usage should be on the road, because that is what it was designed for. Happy Driving!

2015 Dodge Charger, great looking from the shop

Realize that maintenance costs are astronomical. Bought the car with 20k miles on it. Since that day, I have had to replace a transmission, grind the rotors twice, replace one set of rotors, and replace brake pads. Realize that the car has just hit 47k miles. The repairs on this car have been ridiculous and unaffordable. I have paid almost half of my car payment each month towards repairs. The vehicle has issues braking at high speeds and WILL warp the rotors.

My Brand New Dodge Charge went up in flames

Park my car, went to have lunch, when I heard a customer say: There's a car on fire. Turns out It was mine. I can see through the window of the restaurant white smoke, then flames. I ran to try to salvage my belongings but it was to late. When the fire was turned off my fire department there was nothing left of my brand new Dodge Charger. This car was my second Charger I've purchased. It's an amazing car. I took care of it like it was my baby. Having it details monthly and serviced accordingly with the dealer. What happened, we still don't know. Why? I'm just grateful that I, or my children where not in the car when this happened. Not to mentioned that I parked it in my garage all the time with just a few feet away from my living room. It could have been worst. What happens next? Will this be covered under warranty? Not even a year old.

I bought this car in July of last year. Had been a great car until about 2 months ago. The door handles have cheap plastic covers over them and when I went through the touchless car wash and got to the end where the blowers dry the car my passanger side door handle flew off. Didnt notice until i parked to vaccum I found the peice but some of the clips were broken so it wasnt a tight fit thats when I realized they are kind of flimsy they move around a little when you wiggle them. So I brought it to the dealer and told them what happend and they told me to super glue it back on. I wasnt going to do that to a brand new car and had to talk to a few people before somebody helped. They dont sell just the cover so I had to get a whole new handle. They paid for it after I exchanged words with the manager. I got my new handle with cover. I figured the first one was just defective because the drivers side and others held ok in the wash. I went through the was a few more times and it popped off again on the same door and at the blow dryer at the wash again. When you spend a good deal of money on a car you dont expect door handles to just snap off in the car wash. Especially a brushless one love the car but this one issue is vary frustrating and I wouldn't have bought this car if I would have known what I know now. In the mean time I guess I'll be washing it delicately by hand.

I have purchased this car 3 months ago and I am so disappointed about it. This car runs worst than my girlfriend's 2014 honda accord(I hate hondas BTW, my first car was a 2010 civic). Poor acceleration even though I have the Rallye version that is supposed to have 300 horse powers it feels like a 4 cylinder car with 150 HP. Suspension is the worst thing, honda is well known for his hard suspension, but this car is even worst than a honda. I like the interior and LOVE the speaker sound(Beats) and distribution. I wish I could have my challenger back, that was the best car I have ever owned. Had to change it because I had a baby so 2 doors car was a little uncomfortable, but after 3 month I prefer to live with that rather than this dodge accord, sorry charger.

i went from a Chrysler w/360hp to the 485hp beast known as the Charger Scat Pack. all i can say is - WOW! i wanted the SRT, but dealers wanted to much for an SRT lease, IMO. the Scat Pack delivers the same performance (more or less, same engine/tranny, slightly smaller tires/brakes) for less entry fee, and it looks and sounds just as killer! for under $50k fully-loaded (w/everything except the black roof paint), i am instantly on top of the food chain; you basically need an exotic car that costs twice as much to beat it! ive only got 1500 miles on it, so i cannot comment on reliability, but i love the car so much i had to write a review!

2015 Charger R/T Plus ... 2nd owner with 114K when purchased in Feb, 2021. It's only been a few months since I purchased it used but it's been excellent so far. I've done some general maintenance so far (transmission flush with Valvoline Maxlife ATF and differential drain & fill). It's a very comfortable classic style musclecar which is exactly what I wanted. It's not very fast by today's standards but that's unimportant to an over 50 gear head. No complaints whatsoever ... I love having V8 immediate torque!

I have the RT Road and Track version of the Charger. I bought it with 108,000 miles on it. It has all the bells and whistles! It has Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Bright Lights, Super Track Pak and Automatic Lane Correction. It has great acceleration and sounds awesome when you step on it. Besides regular maintenance I have not had to do any mechanical repairs.

Saved my husbands life! Will be getting another!

My husband was in a serious accident just last week. His car rolled, and took down an electrical pole and he walked away with only sprained wrists. The airbags in this car are INCREDIBLE. The only reason he didn't get impaled or even scraped up by the 3' of pole that came into his car is because of the airbags that surrounded his legs, that somehow pushed the pole off to the side. The airbags along the drivers side kept him from getting any glass injuries or head injuries, the windshield cracked and webbed but didn't shatter, even after flipping he only had a couple dents on the top of the vehicle. We are in the market for a new car now and will be getting a Charger because I can trust it with my family's lives!

Traded in my Charger

Purchased the 2015 Charger SE new Jan 2015 and traded for a Ford Fiesta. Here are my options: POS: 1. Great look and good crushing comfort. 2. Good pickup speed and torque. 3. Plenty of head room and passenger space. 4. Oil change recommended every 10,000 miles, that saves $$. 5. Gas MPG was reasonable. 27 MPG! NEG: 1. Always disliked those front day running lights. No option not to use. 2. Lights flickered with night driving. Dealership could never resolve. 3. Value of vehicle dropped like a rock. My vehicle had 22,000 miles in mint condition and got $15,200 for it. 4. Options only had an AM/FM radio. No XM radio... that was a huge disappointment. 5. LCD display is small and useless. 6. 8 Speed transmission was hesitant during automatic shifting. Would not recommend the SE model. If in the market, look at the SRT. Always check if satellite radio is installed.
