I am usually a Ford Mustang guy

Well, I owned my Challenger SRT8 for over a year now, so my review is from a year of owning it. I absolutely love this car. I love the whole overall car inside and outside. I've been a Ford Mustang guy for decades. I owned a 87 Mustang GT Convertible, a 98 Mustang Cobra SVT which I Terminated and swapped the engine from a 2004 Kenne Bell Mustang Cobra SVT, a 2003 Mustang Mach 1, and a 2008 Mustang GT. I owned my share of GM muscle also. I owned a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am-WS6 and a 2001 Chevy Corvette. I love all cars as you can see. My dad was an extreme MOPAR guy. When I was an infant, he owned a 66 Plymouth GTX and he had my mom driving the 71 Challenger RT. I'd say 10 years back he purchased my mom a 2008 Chrysler Crossfire and was anticipating buying himself a Hemi Orange Challenger SRT8, but 3 years ago he lost his battle with cancer and passed away June 9, 2016. Last year I came across a Hemi Orange Challenger SRT8 at an Akron, OH Dodge dealership, worked out some numbers and woke up early on a Saturday morning and drove my pristine 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 which only had 25K miles on it to that dealership which was 2 1/2 hours away. I didn't care, sentimentally, I needed that car. Ever since, I have been completely satisfied with this car. I am in love with this car and would love to save for the Hellcat edition. Still a great car!!!

I love my 2018 Challenger. I love all the technology and it is a powerful car. It is easy on the wallet when it comes to miles per gallon. No regrets, so far. I am a Challenger fan now. Wish me luck!

I've wanted a Challenger since '08. Finally bought an '18 Scat Pack 8 speed auto. The car is powerful, strong brakes and a blast to drive. F8 green combined with the body style is an attention grabber. Fuel mileage is down, but this being my 4th Hemi, they take a few 1000 miles to loosen up and return the best MPG. I have seen close to advertised on the highway. Part of the problem is my love of the skinny pedal on the right. Interior is very comfy. I have a 16 and 14 year old who are 5'10" and 5'8". They have no complaints about the rear seats. When needed the 4-piston Brembo brakes reel the heavy machine down in a hurry. All 4 of my Mopar vehicles have proven reliable and trouble free.

Love this car, great pricing, beautiful look, can’t lose. Picked up a 2018 for a great price. Car will hold value and is a blast to drive. I drive 30k miles a year for work ( previously owned a Prius) and the trade on miles was totally worth it!

I've been a Chevy guy for years. Because of the trunk room and interior room, I tried the Dodge. Very glad I did. This Challenger puts my wife's Malibu to shame. The quality, features, far superior interior, driving feel, etc., etc. Same price point, and this Challenger is a much, much better car overall. I may even switch from Silverado to Ram next time.

Purchased the Challenger GT 2018 so I could drive it in illinois winters and not have to haul snow tires in a rwd to have mounted each winter,!! Fantastic handling in the snow and still a very fun and safe car. I'm 50 plus and can't tell you how many teenage boys pull up along side me to race! Overall an excellent car! Proud new owner.

I have always been an American muscle car addict. I've pretty much been through all of the big 3 and what they've had to offer. I even recently turned in my 15 GT-R Black Edition for an 18 Camaro ZL1 convertible. I went into the dealership driving a 16 Charger Scat Pack thinking it was a great value for the money, which it was. Then I test drove the 18 Challenger SRT Hellcat. All I can say is HOLY $hit!! This car took my breath away! I'm mean I can go into the whole break down of the comfortable ride, display cluster, and everything else, but who really cares? This car is everything that little boys dream of when they are growing up. It really is all that and a bag of chips! If you are an adrenaline junkie this is the car to buy. I will go back and address the interior of the vehicle that is soooo comfortable and spacious along with the trunk that can fit a lot of stuff. The car rides like one that costs 4-5x the price tag with 1/2 the horsepower. I don't have to sell the look of the vehicle, because it sells itself. I have Blk/Blk with the dual carbon fiber stripes. She's a beauty. The only drawback for you environmental wackos is that it does its part to destroy the ozone layer and your wallet, but you know what WHO CARES!!!! Go buy a freakin Prius!! I hope you'll enjoyed my review and I hope that you too go and buy the car that just puts that smile on your face every time you start the engine.

I raced a corvette for several years in bracket racing. She was so deadly consistent that I won a Wally within a year of starting racing (weather station from summit was hugely helpful). And when I wrecked her for the final time (took 24 hours to convince me that the chassis was destroyed I always got her fixed before) I was going to get another Chevy but somehow ended up with a challenger. I spent money only on oil changes and one set of tires and wiper blades in 100k miles. I was hooked. More importantly dodge has beaten the moisture problem. Chevys and water don’t mix. Ever. Either your seal is broken or your grounding wire is out or you are hydroplaning. Dodge has whupped that problem. I bought the SRT 392 Charger and I’ve never met a car with so much horsepower that handled so well on any surface. I know it’s a thousand pounds more blah blah but I know cars. This is absolutely the best combination of everything. I can get around anyone and quicker than they thought and no sandbagging required. From the sunroof to the Pirellis this car is a game changer and it’s so unique you don’t see them all over. Haven’t seen mine at all yet. But I’ve seen lots of cats slide up to see her

I haven’t loved a car in many years !!!!! I come from the Corvette world I still own a modified 2007 C6 .. I have had a few cars a Corvette c7 also a grand sport c7 and I’m sorry Chevy the new cars do not have the room like the old ones the car is very low and the bolstering on the seats is way too tight for a big guy I wanted to buy the Dodge hellcat back in 2015 but I was not going to pay over a stick of money for it. Finally in 2018 I was able to get my blue hellcat I purchased a car in September 2018 and I don’t look back this car is incredible comfort dependability and just raw muscle with a set of drag radials I’ve had this car at a 10 .9 On a very hot day it’s fast looks great as a sound system anybody looking to purchase this car please make sure you have The Harman Cardin stereo it sounds fantastic but trust me you will never get tired of hearing that supercharger wine dodge has done an incredible job thank you Jimmy

Women's point of view. Nice to drive on short trips, not long vacations. I find handling the steering wheel tiring after 8 hrs of driving on vacation for several days. You have to "handle" the wheel constantly since the steering is on the spot. Seats are hard on backs of thighs above knee. I have long legs, but have to shift around a lot or put a towel behind my back to support my lower spine. Water pump went out going through Utah. Only 20,000 miles of the car. Basically though that could happen to any new car. She didn't leave us stranded though. Would like a "front" view of the car like the back, so can better see parking near curbs, as front end is low and can't get too close to some obstacles. Overall the car is fun like I say for shorter road trips, but was begging for my GMS Sierra half way through vacation. And about winter. Well, just park in the drive You can't make it anywhere, it just spins.

For 10 years I have drooled over the retro muscle car Dodge Challenger. My old boss was lucky enough to be one of the first to order a numbered SRT in 2008. I love the body lines, the exhaust, especially on my 2018 R/T with the super track pack. Pros: I am 6'1" and I have enough leg room that I can barely touch the firewall with my toes with seat all the way back. Very roomy interior. Even rear seat is comfortable and spacious for a coupe. Exhaust enhanced with press of a button for performance mode, or quiet in normal mode for those moments you prefer less decibels. 372 horses are more than enough to slingshot me from the on ramp to the fast lane. Cons: Upon reading about the Super Track Pack, I was strongly let down that my R/T was much watered down than what I was expecting. Only a 0-60 timer and braking distance meter were unlocked. With the 7" uconnect, no performance pages available. Also, you gain summer tires which are no good in northeast region, a squeaky race suspension, and a conventional rear with the 230mm axles. Yes, a 3.07 conventional rear, in a 372 hp car.... Dodge, seriously?? It is an R/T super track pack, or at least supposed to be. From the gate I had radio issues requiring reprogramming. Android auto has some flakes. I have a satellite antenna and no satellite radio. It's an R/T, not an SXT... even lower trim vehicles came standard with 1 year free satellite radio. The transmission is only dealer serviceable and has "lifetime fluid" which to me says either the car won't outlast the transmission or expect to replace the transmission every so many thousand miles. Makes me nervous. I have just over 11,000 miles in 7 months, and rear tires need replacing. Partially cold weather driving below freezing temps on 3 season rubber, mainly the attempts to get a better 0-60 time stamp. (4.9 sec record so far) The car is heavy and feels solid. The sport esc lets you have a little fun without losing control too fast. Overall I am pleased I got the car. If I choose to buy it out, when the warranty is up, I may explore putting in a limited slip, finding a 8.4 uconnect radio, and a few other upgrades to get me the STP car I thought I had purchased. Now that I have owned one, I know what to look for on the next buy. Update* 5/2020: Now I have over 33,000 miles on it. It has been very dependable. Even with the performance flaws, it is a very enjoyable car to drive. Currently averaging 21 mpg city 25% highway 75% with 93 octane when using cruise control, 17 mpg driving spirited

We bought our Black Scat Pack with the gorgeous red leather interior. Ours has the automatic, but only the manual is listed in the drop down menu. The 8-speed ZF automatic shifts crisp and quick whether you use the paddle shifters or just let the trans shift on its own. We have put almost 12,000 miles on it so far, drove it from Indiana to California and back and it was comfortable on long stretches of highway and powerful enough to get us up the steepest mountain roads, often without needing to downshift--there's just that much torque. Ours has the heated and cooled seats and heated steering wheel, which work perfectly. We also have the blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and collision warning, all of which give you a feeling of safety. But the best part is the sound of that glorious exhaust note and the feeling that you are in a serious car that has true retro styling and feels like what you would expect a 1971 Challenger to feel like with modern tech and amenities. With the cylinder deactivation we managed 29.8 mpg on one stretch through Arizona and California, which is phenomenal for a 485 horsepower vehicle this size. We had originally planned to get a much larger SUV whose 6-cylinder returned mileage numbers similar to that, but the Challenger was just too much fun to pass up. So far we have had zero problems. The only downside is that the automatic climate control doesn't blow heat through the top dash vents like we are used to in our other car, but it's not really necessary with the heated steering wheel and you can always set it to bi-level manually. Keep in mind the V8s are rear wheel drive only and absolutely vulnerable on snow and ice, so if you must drive in winter get a good set of winter tires, not all-season. You will need the extra grip. The car's torque vectoring and other stability control equipment keep things from getting too scary, but winter tires will always work better. Also, be prepared to answer lots of questions because this car is seriously admired everywhere we go. It's not the car for you if you don't like attention. Note: our car has the 8 speed automatic but the selections below don't have the option for that, just the 6 speed manual. The 8 speed ZF auto in ours shifts flawlessly and quick. We're now at 31k miles without a single problem and it still looks gorgeous, because we keep it clean and it is always garaged. Still love this car but may trade soon because we need something with 4 doors and larger cargo area, but certainly will miss it if we do trade. Update, March 2023. We still have the Challenger. It now has a little over 32,000 miles. No problems whatsoever and the latest Uconnect update let's you have a split screen with your favorite media apps like Pandora on the right and your map on the left. You can full screen either one. When in split screen you can swipe the right screen to the left and change your streaming stations from the list that appears. Mechanically the car is perfect and with the latest update we enjoy it even more. Still haven't ruled out a trade for a Grand Cherokee or another vehicle we can use as a ridesharing car but for now we've had 5 years of fun and compliments from the Scat Pack.

If you want a modern hot rod with a factory warranty, this car is great. I considered the hellcat, but it didn't have adaptive cruise control which I've come to love. The 392 is great. I put a K&N cold air intake on and had the resonators removed and it runs great and sounds fabulous (probably annoys the neighbors when I start it up, but I'm not in CA so I guess that's OK). A true GT car that is very comfortable to take to the grocery store or long road trips. Best car I've ever had! It's been two years now. Stored in winters (I'm in MN) and still love it. Can't wait to get it out this spring.....probably May. We've had significant snow in mid April the last two years and I don't want to expose the Challenger to salt. I didn't realize this model is so rare. According to WKJeeps.com/SRT8/2018 there were only 241 black 8 speed SRT392s sold in the US. In two years, I haven't seen another one-of any color. They sold 3651Challenger hellcats in 2018.

first dodge ever owned. ford and chevys. My first real muscle car. I must say I really love this car just pain cleaning with the matte and satin finish. Runs quick but looking for more RPS, so going to add to this big motor. I like the heavy part, feels safer in it than the mustang I just sold. mine gets great gas mileage intown 18-20, But I don't drive right in the big city of Atlanta. Hate to even get close to big cities.:) looking to take to track soon and see what she will put out, then do some adjustments. I would recommend this car to anyone. This will be my last car unless I turn it into a dragstrip racer and then will get another dodge. :)

Have 2462 mi on the car and it’s two months old. !!! To be honest I wanted a Ford Mustang gt350. Test drove a 2018 gt350 and it felt so compact. Power out the ass but too small for me. Test drive the challenger scat pack and it grew on me went back and bought it. From the factory plenty of power just under 400 rwhp from driveline loss. But still there. The brembo brakes are phenomenal for 4 piston calipers. Will [non-permissible content removed] when needed I’ve already done upgrades cai , looks lingtubes header and high flow catted mid pipes sent out by a borla atak series cat back. Also purchased the diablosport pcm and trinity tuner and level 2 tune from hhp. So far so good sorry went on a rant. But overall very pleased with the original purchase but I’m not one to leave things as they are.

Nice roomy sports coupe. I didn't want a cuv but wanted something sporty with a decent amount of room. The Mustang coupe was nice but a tad tight. The Challenger is a good balance.

The Challenger Scat Pack is reliable, fast, comfortable, handles well, and is fun to drive. Did I mention it's fast? The dollars per HP is hard to beat. I can't speak well enough of the Challenger R/T Scat Pack. (Yes, there are faster cars, but the Scat Pack is still crazy fast.) The Challenger is a large vehicle, but for such a large car it handles and stops very well. Compared to it's competition the Challenger is by far the most comfortable and has the best rear visibility. The back seat sits 2 adults for a road trip comfortably, and the trunk is huge. As you can see, it's very stylish. Classic but modern at the same time. I love the look of the interior, very "cock pit" like, and the electronics have little to improve on. I feel like the Edmunds person who was reviewing the car was grasping at straws when they were typing the cons for this car: - Yes, they are heavy cars, but the Scat Pack and Hellcat come track ready, the handling is not at all dull. Yes, you feel the weight in the corners but the Scat Pack Smashes around a track (that's slang for the car handles well) and the Widebodies are just that much better. - The rear visibility is not as good as most cars, but it's not terrible. It's better than the competitors and since the hood is so long the driver is positioned fairly far back and the blind spots are small. - As for their comment on not having a convertible, there are lots of 2 door cars that don't come in a convertible. A convertible Challenger is just stupid IMO. The reason Dodge doesn't make them is because they wouldn't sell that well. The only negatives I could think of are 2: - If you are not comfortable driving a large vehicle you won't like driving the Challenger (or the Charger). - Most of the Scat Packs come with 245/45x20 tires. These tires are dangerously small for so much power. I recommend you get one of the packages that upgrade you to a 275/40x20 or put on 275 tires the day you get the car (275s will fit a 9" wheel). Some would say the LX/LS platform and the HEMI are old and outdated, I say that because it's been around so long Dodge has had a lot of time to perfect it. If your looking for a classic twist on a modern muscle car, look no further.

You’ll get a lot of comments, mostly positive about the car, especially from car enthusiasts. The traditional design is one of its strong points and The performance is incredible. Crappy gas mileage is a given, even in eco mode.

most things were great, only a big problem was with touch screen, end up replacing, but no recall, shame on Dodge, engine mounts go bad on 95000 miles.

Purchased new SXT+ just 3 1/2 months ago. Car won't start. Dealer has no clue. Great daily driver, but a new car should be trouble free for years before anything goes wrong. I am OCD about my vehicles. Always clean, always well maintained, always adult driven. I'm hoping this will not become a recurring theme with this car.

Best cars I have ever owned. Great detail in every part of car. We had 2013 RT and bought 2018 RT blacktop and wow what a jump. 8 speed automatic 5.7 ltr fun machine that you do not have to bend over to get in. Got cloth interior and the system that hooks to your phone for navigation with android auto app that works like dream. Alpine 6 speaker system is perfect. Our first challenger ws s ghost pearl black but new one we went with plum crazy purple and the blacktop 20 inch wheels. Drives and make you as if you kid again with confidence.
